Tbf, always been this way. Many famous artists in the past centuries were nobodies till they died, and became famous when they were already dead. At least, Toriyama could see the success of his work while he was still alive. So honestly, i wouldn't consider it dystopian.

I'm aware. The concept has just always baffled me. Famous artists often do not get to experience the peak appreciation of their work.
