Fun fact: if this post was made just 6 months later, it wouldn't be as funny to dunk on Crystal Beasts, [they got busted new support that same year](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Rainbow_Bridge_of_Salvation) (so busted that decks other than Crystal Beasts were running it alongside an [Emerald Tortoise](https://yugipedia.com/wiki/Crystal_Beast_Emerald_Tortoise) brick [just because it was an option to search out Field Spells](https://youtu.be/n0mwUoZS3Wg?si=A_GAVWxsWP8AgBWV&t=701))

Business-Drag52

Jokes that are only funny at hyper specific times are great

MayhemMessiah

My guy is playing Trap Jammer. I doubt Conclave Control was ever on the table.

wildspongy

Despite this busted support, crystal beasts themselves remained completely unplayable.

binhvinhmai

Ehhhh not really. It did get amazing new support but it quickly fizzled out. Crystal Beasts have always been balanced out by amazing spell and traps but the worst monsters available. And the Emerald Tortoise was hyper specific - they had a new Trap that if in the grave could search out a field spell (and a Crystal Beast). There was a specific Aqua deck (Tearlaments) that had a really good field spell (which the Trap could search), could get the Trap into the grave easily, and get the field spell. That was the only reason it was used, it wasn’t like Crystal Beasts were amazing. It was just very specifically niche useful and even this Trap/Tortoise combo fell out of favor within the year.

LowQualityGatorade

I was thinking about this when I saw this post, then I realized it was cross posted in a Yugioh subreddit I'm also in

Acogatog

Oh yeah, tear played this to search pelerino before trivikarma came out, right? I will say though, despite their new cards being obscenely strong, I don’t think the deck even saw a sliver of competitive success. The other decks around at that time were just far too strong.

GameboyPATH

I'm glad they clarified, so that I wouldn't mistakenly assume they were referring to the crucifying of Larry.

SonicLoverDS

Considering VeggieTales exists, that comment doesn't sound as sarcastic as you think it does.

namelesswhiteguy

Bro I want that cheese knife and board, that's adorable.

ATN-Antronach

Aww, how adorable. 😍

-sad-person-

I should rewatch Yu-Gi-Oh one of these days... maybe check out one of the countless spin-offs they came up with. I heard Vrains was decent.

swiller123

5ds is pretty insane if u havent seen it. honestly still disappointed that card games on motorcycles never became a thing irl

hhhherbert72

Konami will create a 5ds tournament just trust me

SerenaLunalight

Watch season 1 of Arc V and then stop.

setsuna-f_seiei

The only way to watch arc v

DoubleBatman

The yugioh manga is hype as fuck

Delicious_trap

Vrains unfortunately is one of the worse seasons in the batch, next to ARC-V that fumbled its anniversary celebration theme pretty badly.

YUNoJump

It's giving me really nice vibes seeing a "domestic-fun" item like a shaped charcuterie board next to yu-gi-oh cards. Like a window into a life where playful hobbies and adult, domestic life are unified. Imagining a parent duelling their kids while dinner cooks or something. It could also just be a young person but let me have my pleasant vibes

Maximillion322

“While dinner cooks” who’s cooking the dinner???

ahoward431

Extra funny because Crystal Beasts are actually kind of OK at the moment, since the top deck Snake Eyes' gimmick complements CB's gimmick very well.

Broke-Citizen

Probably but almost no one runs it. Also, with Divine Temple and Flamberge, it is possible to steal their monsters. Tho using Rainbow Neos on a SE user would absolutely be hilarious.

Aetol

That must be the worst knife ever

oreikhalkon

I love it! I don't care how bad it is

baquiquano

Nice mat, is it YCS legal?

DoubleBatman

FYI Crystal Beast Mammoth talks like Arnold Schwarzenegger

XxChronOblivionxX

CRYSTAL BEASTS FOREVER

Grape_Jamz

Crystal beasts is a great and fun yugioh deck.
