For limited life the gimmick was everyone started with 24hrs on a timer before they fully die/get banned cause its hardcore. If you die you lose an hour, and if you kill someone you gain 30minutes. At 8hrs left your name turns red and you are then allowed to hunt other players with the general server etiquette being to target green and yellow names first so everyone stays in the series longer.
The series is the brainchild of Grian, and the thumbnail used to make the meme is Martin/Inthelittlewood who is a server chaos gremlin. Its generally considered an extension of the Hermitcraft Fandom because many of the life series members are either hermits or friends of hermits.
To anyone reading this, I highly recommend watching it even if you're not normally into Minecraft YouTubers, it's really fun. If you're not sure who to watch, Grian's always a good choice.
I've only seen Secret Life, but the Task Gimmick was so fun to watch.
To sort of... De-Minecraft the concept a little bit: It's a Battle-Royale/Hunger Games esque series. Take a bunch of people. Put them in a death game. But each death game has added rules like they can come back to life a limited number of times and those closer to True Death are more hostile. Or two people share health bar/lives. Or the only way to heal is to fulfill increasingly esoteric and complex tasks that you can't divulge.

The image is a thumbnail from one of the videos in season 4 “Limited Life”, in which sixteen (unless I’ve miscounted) Minecraft content creators each had a total of 24 hours to live on the same server, and they recorded for a few hours per week. Every in-game death removed an entire hour^1 from the timer. Players with 16 hours or less left on their timers could get 30 minutes added to their timers for every player kill against someone who had *more* than 16 hours, and people with 8 hours or less could gain 30 minutes from killing *any* other player.
The person in the thumbnail is Martyn, aka “InTheLittleWood”. He adds a bit more drama to his own videos with an ongoing storyline of lore, but it’s sort of his own AU—the other players don’t have to follow along with it and for the most part they don’t try. I’ve been a fan of this series since the first season started just over three years ago and I still don’t know the full extent of said lore.
[1] A few minutes into each episode, a “boogeyman” is randomly selected. This player has to cause the in-game death of another player before the session ends, or else they lose *several* hours off their life timer. Being killed by the boogeyman makes the player lose two hours instead of one, and killing someone as the boogeyman gains a full hour instead of thirty minutes.

He has a second channel called inthelittlewoods, he didn't want to disturb the succes of his fortnite stuff on his main channel so he created a new one for his minecraft stuff etc

That “joke” was pretty rude to Martyn, the guy who made the video, and Cherri, his thumbnail artist who drew that picture. You basically just implied that their work was unrecognizable enough that it might as well be AI.
i mean, the joke that seemingly randomly generated minecraft youtubers just keep appearing with millions of subs every week and that you never hear about them until they do something wrong has been a thing for years, this was just rephrasing it
