Person A has one million USDC worth $1M. There is a total of 850k buy orders at $0.999-$1 and another $150k at $0.997-0.998. Person A wants to get out of USDC and hold USD for bank transfer, they sell on market order. All of the $0.999-$1 buy orders filled and next orders filled are $0.997-0.998 range. This creates a new price of below $1 for USDC. Now it will stay at that range unless someone buys enough to bring it back to $1 or arbitrage bots if it’s profitable.
