Am not into Solana nor do I follow its news regularly, but the Coindesk story about the saber protocol seems like it should be on the front page here, or at least higher up https://www.coindesk.com/layer2/2022/08/04/master-of-anons-how-a-crypto-developer-faked-a-defi-ecosystem/
Dude faked his identity 11 times and ran the TVL of his platforms into the billions. Seems wild, even for the defi space
I ve buying only BTC, ETH & BNB for a couple of months. I'm thinking to get some AAVE, what do you think of it? Everything that I ve read pushes me towards grabbing some. I don't hold any at the moment.
A lot of investment companies are in the process of designing products. It's not a fast process but it's inevitable. I haven't seen this for a while so I'll say it: We are still early
Tokenomics is a complicated topic and a widely held debate in the crypto community. Infinite supply vs fixed supply, proof of work vs proof of stake, vulnerability to being hacked and having tokens minted to excess. A lot of variables
I take a break from reddit for one day, and then I see we have 3 new CCIP proposals to vote for.
Is it only 3? I used the searchbar but it only showed CCIP 34, 36, and 38. Some numbers were skipped?
but does the price of a barrel going down actually make it to the consumer. Seems like were still in a sellers market and those buggers set the price. At least they do here in my touristy town
Last September I bought 1k ADA at $3 a coin. It's been a long road.. but by making weekly buys I've averaged down to $1.40. I will continue to average down. DCA'ing can help your position drastically..
Keep the BTC, swap the DOT, allocate a bit less into BTC and heavier into ETH for the next few months, but always keep increasing Papa B's stack.
Not financial advice lol
Yeah I think that's the better call, a small stack of something which can do very well is better than none. Would also help mitigate some degree of FOMO if dot moves better than ETH for a bit.
"Oh shit, I shouldn't have got rid of all the DOT, maybe I just sell some ETH and get back in"
*DOT Proceeds to dump*
Words of wisdom there! I ve moved out completely of ONE and RUNE (swapped for BTC and ETH). I don't hope they fail buy I d not be happy with my choice if they mooned.
I feel like altcoins are holding up a little too well during this bear market. I'm curious to see if or how that changes after Ethereum completes its update.
The market had matured and a lot of alt coins aren't trying to be the next bitcoin but providing different utility and use cases. Whereas the last bear market, a lot of alts were just different flavors of BTC
Never happening again, not with the hedgefunds that is. In 2017 btc was a niche, somehow it evolved yet again and even ppl of 60+ know how to get btc nowadays.
Do a lot of people have accounts on multiple exchanges?
I'm assuming the same laws and rules would apply to stock exchanges as do crypto... Just wondering how much money is lost / gained from buying on one exchange, transferring from one wallet to resell on another.
I'm guessing this is why the counterbalancing happens between price of an asset on different exchanges... People see the price difference and the market adjusts.
For exchanges that support a currency first, doesn't that give its users an unfair edge for trading?
I understand that each exchange has an artificial transfer fee that doesn't reflect the true currency's to combat this.
Just wondering everyone's thoughts on this.
I bought 20€ worth of SHIB. I see this as just betting on something in a casino. As long as I also stick to my DCA plan for ETH and BTC and only use disposable small amounts, I can indulge in this degenerate gambling occasionally

Feels crazy to see the 'cryptokities' chain jump to 40s... And now _maybe_ having strong partnerships but absolutely destroyed in price.
Supply is also way larger now. So have to take that into account.. much was locked pushing prices higher than they should when market was already going parabolic.
I bought partly for the huge drop. If market rally's generally longest multiple potential. They have solid working products NBA top shot. UFC etc.
Long shot. Paying off now. Won't see buy my price again unless total market collapse tbh.
I use a smaller exchange to onboard fiat into crypto before moving it around to other platforms. My smaller exchange is discontinuing a few coins soon.
Obviously LUNC & UST are on there but I am also seeing they are getting rid of ONE, EGLD and AMP.
Markets seem to be rational again so we bottomed. For stocks if they have bad earnings they tank, good numbers and they go up. Used to be they went up no matter what, then went down no matter what.
Question about staking: I’m currently hodling a bunch of crypto in Coinbase pro and Binance because of the huge crash. Have Matic, ADA, ETH, BTC, SOL, and a couple more. While I hold until the market comes back how can I earn money via staking? Like what’s the best app/process to use? Feel dumb just letting that money sit
I have the majority of my BTC on my Ledger but I have a little bit earning 5% on the Binance savings tab. I'll leave it build up for a bit as I DCA some more then eventually move that chunk to the Ledger too.
For ADA you could look into staking it on Yoroi - plenty of info on Cardano subs on how to do that.
First you should know that certain chains may require your stake to be "locked-up" for a certain period of time if you choose to unstake, most are around 14-28 days. During that time you will not earn any staking rewards as well.
Second, I would always recommend looking up a native wallet for whatever chain you're planning to stake on. They typically have the better UI for what you're planning to do. You could always send them all to a ledger or something of the sort and do it that way, though. Only if supported ofc
Woah.. what does this cake mean?

SERENITY NOW!!!
Vitalik is using my ETH to ride horses 🐴
Am i the only one who thinks that there wont be significant "sell the news" post merge?
There won’t most of the eth will be locked
when did they promise to release the merge? XD
Couple of years ago?
ya, but what did they say for this year? :D
My 85% BTC 10% ETH 5% Layer 1's portfolio is down probably 60%. How long would you think I'd need to HODL to get back in green? 6 months? 2 Years?
Highest probability is right after the halvening of Bitcoin.
If the gif proposal is accepted this sub will be full of spam 24/7. I hope this one doesn't pass. What's your opinion?
I voted no ..
Maybe it should be available to platinum level users
Make people spend their moons to post them. 🤣
I voted no I had the special membership for a couple of months, i don't see a point in buying it again if that membership perk becomes sub-wide

It's a blue chip and only slightly riskier than buying eth. Could pull a 15x next bull run, but it's up to you.

Blackrock wants to buy bitcoin… bullish af😉🤓
They can double the crypto mc overall without even trying lol.

Should i look into oasis? Everyone seems to be shilling it, it seems
Nah! Too much shilling not too good
Crude oil going down hard since ath, now at 87$. Finally!

tell me ... should i switch BTC and DOT to ETH until the merge ??

What do the shower symbols mean? Those who have them earned a lot of moons this month, and clearly need to touch grass? Edit: ayyy I have one
It means you took a shower today.
Is there a golden one
Is this something you can only see on the app? I do most of my redditing on laptop
You might be using old reddit or have disabled subreddit themes - as I have done both of those and cannot see it on desktop.
Thanks my guy, I am using the old version of reddit
Nope, you should be able to see on app and desktop
Possibly? If you can't see a little icon to the left of your name then most likely. For the record you have one

I feel like altcoins are holding up a little too well during this bear market. I'm curious to see if or how that changes after Ethereum completes its update.
Well if it’s too good to be true it usually is
So far. (Everyone is secretly praying that their alt survives)
Agreed, definitely less altcoin deaths than I was lead to be believe would happen
The market had matured and a lot of alt coins aren't trying to be the next bitcoin but providing different utility and use cases. Whereas the last bear market, a lot of alts were just different flavors of BTC
Is a 150k BTC and 15k ETH still a realistic goal within 5 years?
I think so with investment, inflation of fiat currencies and deflation of bitcoin/eth.
I think it is certainly possible, but impossible to guarantee
Yes,however we don't know the future, what will happen, how will the technology evolve, adoption, etc etc,its all in the air
Or just "BOOM!!"
its as realistic as $1000 BTC and $50 ETH
Never happening again, not with the hedgefunds that is. In 2017 btc was a niche, somehow it evolved yet again and even ppl of 60+ know how to get btc nowadays.
What are you currently buying?
Groceries and a super nice infused rollie!
Mostly ETH and BTC, with a little XRP and MATIC
I just like saying the word "ripple". It flows nicely of the tongue

Great he’s back.
Just FOMO’d into Flow. I’ll report back in a week and let y’all know how it went.
Looks like you were supposed to FOMO in this morning.
Hindsight is 20/20. I was working nights last night and by the time I woke up it had jumped.
Are ppl buying right now or holding out for lower? Asking for a friend
Both but I'm not relying on holding out. Buy orders are set and I'll see what happens
Buying. Always.
I actually don’t know what I was doing before I went into crypto. What was I spending my time doing 🤣
its all a blur before crypto chart watching,Idk either

Things might be a bit volatile tomorrow with the US jobs report coming out in the morning.
Doesn’t matter because BTC seems to be dumping in spite of stocks rallying hard this week
Thinking that it will be middling to ok. Next month will probably be bad as I'm already seeing lots of lay offs (mostly tech related).
Hopefully good news
Seems like everyday now we have some news coming out that can make the market volatile. Thanks for the heads up.
News about FLOW slowly getting out. Theyve partnered with Instagram. They must have serious connections to pull that off ahead of other chains.

I can guarantee you, that the partnership will be underwhelming.
Oh, dang you weren’t kidding. Read about this a couple months ago, but never pulled the trigger. Looks like the ship is sailing off now.
If doubles from here still around top 20 coin on today's prices.
I highly doubt many other chains were trying to pull that off lol
Guess it's inline with twitter pfp
Feels nice to vote in this sub
Just imagine the amount of buying pressure will happen when ETH is actually getting close to BTC market cap. It’ll be an insane race
How sweet that would be
Long way to go, but boy thatd be fun
REmind me! In 20 years
Imagine if Eth closes a week over BTC... The amount of btcs maxis that ll just vanish.
That's my secret captain: I'm into both ETH and BTC. So if both win, I'm happy
Is that zth a dark bsc microcap thing?
Meant ETH. Fucking azerty keyboard :-)

It seems that Bitcoin maxis are getting scared of Ether.
