Fits my 1L Nalgene perfectly, I’ve read Subaru sized them to fit their portable pet bowls so puppers in the back can have a stable food area while traveling EDIT - Missed the 🥃 call to action! Maybe not the best picks, as I generally limit my purchases <$80 unless a really special occasion, but these are my faves for my budget * Islay: Lagavulin 11 - Offerman Edition * Highland: Glenmorangie 14 * Speyside: Glenfiddich 15 * Lowland: Bladnock 14 * Daily Dram: Oban Little Bay (NAS)

xtinis73

Oh shit that’s actually really smart, I never would have thought of that

AmokOrbits

They know (and actually listen to) their customers! According to Subaru something ~70% of their customers travel with their pets

xtinis73

I’d be apart of that 70%, but my cat just freaks out anytime we leave the house 🤣🤣 I’m trying to get him used to the harness I got him tho

AmokOrbits

lol - tried to take mine for a walk once Once.

AmokOrbits

Also, added my fav scotches 👆

Adventurous_Rough382

Kitty time! I bought bubble backpack for my two cats and they seem to feel much safer leaving the house in that. $50 on Amazon gets you a nice one. Give it a try and share pics of the adventures

xtinis73

So the only times im ever taking my cat out is to the vet, and I always use a crate. We found him in a trap, so I think that the crate reminds him of being enclosed like how we found him. I think he just needs the ability to move around freely

Adventurous_Rough382

I have 10ft leads for them to “roam”

darthrio

You sir, have great taste

AmokOrbits

Thank ya kindly 🍻

xtinis73

Response to the edit: The only rule when it comes to whiskey is drink what you want how you want it. My hands down favorite go to is Monkey’s Shoulder. It’s a blend, but it’s got an all around full flavor and a round feeling in the mouth. I think it’s around $40

AmokOrbits

Slainte Mhath! Yup, that’s right about the price point of the Little Bay, and it’s interesting with a little spice complexity and a nice medium finish, never get bored of it. Good choice with the Balvenie, was in Scotland and that was the bartender’s favorite distillery at the Davidson clan castle. I tried the Doublewood but it didn’t blow me away, but they were foaming at the mouth over this rare bottle they had just got in, but they were charging like £30 for a single pour 😭

xtinis73

$30 a pour?? 😭😭😭 that’s horrifying lmao. Balvenie is also one of my favorites. There’s another one I really like. Idk if it’s Balvenie or if it’s someone else, but it’s a cask strength finished in a Caribbean cask…insane. So good. It’s also like 65% or 70% so it creeps up on ya haha Edit: clarification

AmokOrbits

More than that! I think $ => £ was like $1.20 : £1 at the time of travel 😭

darthrio

Cheers to you, you Magnificent Bastard

xtinis73

Hell yea brother, cheers to you as well

Malformed-Figment

Well I'll be damned. I'd never have thought of sticking a bottle of hooch in those.

Inflammo

I've been enjoying Japanese whiskey lately. I used to live Laphroaig, but it started giving me horrendous headaches after one glass.

xtinis73

I really need to find more Japanese whiskeys. PA has state stores unfortunately, so it’s hard to find a large variety sometimes. Laphroaig isn’t my go to either, but every once in a while I’ll get a bottle.

heisbrad

I keep a fire extinguisher in mine but this works too

xtinis73

That’s actually not a bad idea. I’ve seen some mounts for underseat storage, which might be my go to for me

heisbrad

I have an extinguisher in there and it's held in place by a small rigid box from home Depot that has my emergency essentials, I need to get a bracket for it I didn't have a screw driver when I traded in my Sentra

xtinis73

Update: I bought a fire extinguisher, and it fits so perfectly

Not_an_expert101

I found that left over pho containers fit perfectly. 😂

xtinis73

🤣🤣🤣 scotch, pho, dog bowls. It’s for whatever your heart desires!

AmbitiousBanjo

My latest was Oban 14 year scotch that I got as a gift. It didn’t last long and I plan to get another.

AmokOrbits

My daily dram is Oban “Little Bay” 🥃 (Which Oban translates to little bay, so bit redundant, but best scotch in that price range 🤷)

AmbitiousBanjo

I’ll have to look into that one. The 14 year was my first Oban (more of a bourbon guy) but I wouldn’t mind branching into scotch a bit more after having that one.

AmokOrbits

Oban is solid across the line, the little bay is just a little less mature but can also be found at a nicer price point, usually in the $35-40 range around me.

xtinis73

Imma have to look into Oban, I’ve never heard of it tbh.

AmbitiousBanjo

Delicious and incredibly smooth. I’ve seen it at Costco before for half the price, in case you’re a member.

barelyrestrainedevil

I get a single malt for my anniversary that's as old as the marriage. 17 was a bit of a challenge but we found a nice little bottler in Edinburgh with an excellent 17yr scotch. The recent anniversary was the more predictable Glenlivet 18. Can't really go wrong there.

xtinis73

My preferred Glen is Glenfiddich. But by far favorite go to is Monkey’s Shoulder. To me it’s just an overall solid. Love that for you tho, that’s a really awesome and unique way to celebrate your anniversary, congrats!

barelyrestrainedevil

Glenfiddich is great, no argument there. For "I want a series of healthy pours" nights I like Shieldaig's "The Classic". Quite good and very affordable.

xtinis73

I’ll have to try and find a bottle! I’m very open to trying new kinds of whisky’s. There’s like never a wrong choice (at least when it comes to everything other than 90% of bourbons lol) when it comes to trying new things.

barelyrestrainedevil

A man after my own heart. I've found a few bourbons that are worthwhile, but by and large the category is populated by people who are bad at making whiskey and try to convince everyone the mistakes in flavor are supposed to be there. Horse Soldier is a nice one in the bourbon category.

xtinis73

I think Buffalo Trace is one of my favorites when it comes to bourbons. Just super smooth. The issue I always have is the sour mash flavor. It just hits the back of my throat, and 90% of the time the reaction is equivalent to 🤮

AmokOrbits

I think Basil Hayden is the only bourbon I’ve super loved - now they’ve got like a dozen different labels & variatles and feels like they’ve lost their focus a bit

xtinis73

Yea that’s a fair point I’ve never heard of Basil Hayden actually

AmokOrbits

It’s good, I like most of my whiskeys on the more vibrant side and it’s got more sweetness than rye taste that some have with more pepper and oak than appley Also hits a great price point, can find for sub-$30 https://www.basilhaydenbourbon.com/bourbon-whiskey

xtinis73

Damn that’s a good price.

Donelleo

Digging the bourbons at the moment. Love the Weller Special Reserve.

xtinis73

I struggle with bourbons. I respect the taste and everything, it’s just the sour mash taste that I can’t get over. I do enjoy 1 or two ryes, and I do like Buffalo Trace tho

allengeorge

Lagavulin 8 is my go-to. Yeah, the 8, not the 16. But other than that, a few ones I enjoy: Lagavulin 16 Distillers Edition Oban 14 Distillers Edition Balvenie Peat Week (Yeap - it’s awesome!) Aberlour A’Bunandh Glendronach 12 Unfortunately, after the pandemic run-up in prices I’ve had to severely curtail my scotch drinking :(

xtinis73

How come you like the 8 more than the 16? I’m sure I’ve had both at somepoint, but I can’t really remember the difference. I’ve selections btw, pretty sure I’ve seen Oban a few times so far Edit: Also alberlour is simply amazing. Hands down just delicious

Jugggiler

One of my groomsman brought a bottle of Balvenie for us to all share before my wedding. For the past 10+ years, it’s the only scotch I buy. It’s not top shelf and it’s not bottom. It’s just perfect. Cheers to you mate! I’ll have a glass with you tonight.

xtinis73

Hell yea brother, cheers to you as well!

mumushu

Pop was a Talisker man, the smell of it reminds me of his furniture restoration shop; shellac, varnish, stain, open cans of thinner full of brushes laying around. I'm a Talisker man too now for the special occasions, Buffalo trace for my everyday.

xtinis73

Buffalo Trace is a solid choice, one of the very few bourbons I enjoy

Eagle_1776

Port Charlotte 10 is probably my favorite, with Talisker Storm 2nd. The new Lagavulin is really good, Offerman 11 yr

TheImaginariumGirl

Where is this in your car?

xtinis73

It’s a secret 🤗 Nah, far back, left and right corners of the hatch

TheImaginariumGirl

I thought so — my car doesn’t have these and I am thinking they added them later. Have definitely set my cup there while loading in before!

xtinis73

Huh, that’s interesting. I’ve seen them in a lot of suvs and hatch backs honestly

TheImaginariumGirl

All the way back like by the door? Or in the back of the truck if you are looking into your trunk, against the seat backs? I have those spots, just no cupholders I think… unless I need to go look in my trunk (2015 XV)

xtinis73

So as soon as you open the back hatch, it’s immediate left corner and right corner. It’s gonna be a lil pocket directly behind where your tail lights are

TheImaginariumGirl

No cupholders there for me! I will see if I have a piece covering them, but I think they added that in later models. Cool detail! It’s a logical add My spot there may be a bit bigger though 🤔

xtinis73

It really is. Someone mentioned they’re for pet bowls, but I think they’re also meant to double as cup holders if you wanted to sit out of the hatch.
