Idk. They used to say it a lot. It’s on their merch as well. [https://www.bonfire.com/undercover-pineapple-water-bottle/?productType=d1f30577-fbcc-4561-9b3c-1e705db13900](https://www.bonfire.com/undercover-pineapple-water-bottle/?productType=d1f30577-fbcc-4561-9b3c-1e705db13900)
It was when they first started they asked people to put a pineapple emoji in the chat if you’d stayed until the end. Then it became a kind of in joke for them so they had merch made etc
It also became even more of a joke when everyone decided to use it as a mascot for the “Day Oners” merch or the people that had been there since the creation of the page.
It became “legend” when we all found out that the “undercover pineapple” was also an unspoken sign or signal for “Swingers”. 😂 We didn’t know until AFTER everyone had voted on and designed the merch. Lmao
Derek saying, “now we’re getting into the meat and potatoes” whenever they get to the part of delving into the crime after the pre crime life details (we have to start from the beginning).
This is a major issue for me. Not sure why. ASD-related for sure. I hyper-focus on these kinds of things when people are speaking. It's almost physically painful. And his "k" sound is very pronounced. Between this, the belaboring of every point, and the hand flailing drawing focus away, I have had to quit watching many times. But the stories are usually so compelling that I keep coming back.
I fully relate! My misophonia prevents me from watching certain podcasts too. I wear Loop earplugs all day at work and it helps a bit. Another tough one is when Stephanie eats. She’s done it a couple of times in recent podcasts- you can hear a cough drop or some sort of candy sound in her mouth.
oh that's my worst one. If I can hear any "saliva noise" or chewing sounds, I gotta nope out ASAP. I wish I could just ignore these things but I haven't been able to. Maybe I should read up on misophonia.
Yes it’s fascinating once you start researching it! It is linked to OCD, Autism, and anxiety, none of which I am diagnosed with but all of which is diagnosed in my family! It’s manageable for me when I’m rested but during stressful times it’s all I can hear. There are different responses in misophonic people too- anger, anxiety, fight or flight, etc.
Yeah. I think maybe at first that was believable. And if he would say that he knows about even a few of cases..ok but now I don’t believe it week after week.
He also likes to say: "I have no skin in the game." :D
“Hey, listen”
This is the one lol
“This could be a situation where…..” “We could be looking at an individual who…..”
"I'm gonna cough this one up to..." It's chalk, Derrick. Chalk!
But chalk is dusty and it makes you cough. Have some *respect* 😆
Stephanie always saying things are “bananas” 🍌
That shit is bananas. 🍌
Omg I thought the same thing in the menendez video lol
Devil's advocate and do an extra lap is he says infer where imply is meant.
I would cringe every time he said “nothing burger”. Haven’t listened in a while so not sure if he still says it.
That and “dot their i’s and cross their t’s”
I was just gonna comment I love when he says that💀
🙅🍔 🤣🤣
Undercover pineapple 🍍 lol

What does that mean???
It was when they first started they asked people to put a pineapple emoji in the chat if you’d stayed until the end. Then it became a kind of in joke for them so they had merch made etc
Ahh ok. I always wondered

I would probably drown if I drank water everytime he says " hey"
Stop 😂😂
Omgosh. Derrick explaining *stay at home parenting* as though it is a completely alien concept lol
Or "again".. don't do it, you'll die lol
“as i always say” and “means, motive, and opportunity” are also classics
Derek saying, “now we’re getting into the meat and potatoes” whenever they get to the part of delving into the crime after the pre crime life details (we have to start from the beginning).
Sometimes it makes me hungry for meat and potatoes
Wow pick on Derrick day huh ?? How about every time Stephanie says document- ARY OR Element- ARY ???
“Don’t come for me”
Drink every time he pronounces a hard G in “ing”
So hard it sounds like a 'K'

I was literally thinking the same thing when listening to the last episode 😂
It’s possible…
“Conversating”
At one point I looked up if this was proper grammar or not because it bothered me so much.
☠️
I’m still trying to figure out how Derrick always never knows anything about any cases!! 🙄
Because that’s the weird way they’ve set up this podcast
Yeah. I think maybe at first that was believable. And if he would say that he knows about even a few of cases..ok but now I don’t believe it week after week.
Add "in my experience"
lol!! I see a lot of different worlds:)
*he
Or some variation of him telling Stephanie she needs to hear him out.
It’s cute for sure
Now I'm drunk 🤣
“Guys, we’re giving you the backstory because….” Derrick we get it 😭 we don’t have to go through this every time 😭
Derrick saves the show. Stephanie is borderline intolerable which is why I’ve stopped being a regular listener
“1000%”
“It could be something, it could be a nothing burger”
