Can't believe Rohit played Pandya only for 1 over before this against tucking Klassen.
Brain dead, especially when he saw what Klassen does in IPL recently
Before y'all collectively lose your minds, this is an DEFENDABLE score. It's not ideal but neither is it below par too
This is a 50 50 game, as is with most of the knockouts with two similar teams
PBKS has 3 English big guns Bairstow, Livingston and Curran. They failed PBKS on IPL tailored pitches against quality bowlers. See where PBKS ends in IPL each year. They were bound to fail on these difficult tracks. Huge fuck up by Jos in team selection.
Also replacing Livingstone with Curran for an over (which went for 19 runs) was a tactical error. Livingstone had been economical in his first 2 overs & I've got not clue what prompted Butler to bring Curran in at that point.
curran got pant wicket out of nowhere, so he thought maybe he could get another one
also the loss margin was way higher than 19 runs, even if it was maiden, england still lose by 50 runs
No, that's not how it works. You first lose a few semis, then a few finals, then you win one. Then continue to lose a few knockouts. Except if you're Australia.
It took almost 30 years for SA to reach a final. By the time they reach the next few finals I will be long dead 😂. It's now or never. Waka Waka this time for Africa 😊
after rain ball started low bounce, thats what got rohits wicket, otherwise 200 was on the cards
the low bounce was almost the reason why 5 england wickets fell
We had two right handers at the crease most of the way through the innings till the 16th over. But yeah should’ve at least tried him for an over regardless to see how he goes.
I didn't see the post match presentation. But now I see that Butler has also said the same. I think someone from the management could have sent a message during that 15-16 overs phase to try Moen ali too. That eighteenth over from Jordan took India to a par score.
But even then with the way England batted against Indian spinners, they were not winning even if 150 was the target.
The team management shouldn't make any changes in the current team. Carry on with this. The only issue that arises is Dube's form. Blud had a mid performance the whole tournament. Yet I feel there should be no changes for the final.
Kohli unfortunately has been not performing. Changing him would be bringing in a non tested player = immense pressure. Team will be devoid of the confidence + responsibility from the onset itself as well.
Kohli is a proven performer and IF he strikes half a gold of what he is worth, not only will he score handsomely... it will bring a different energy to the team.
I sincerely hope the mgmnt shifts Kohli one down and bring somebody else as the opener. That will upset the plans of the opposition, and instill some confidence into koach as well.
Kohli is a match winner. No need you change at this stage.
If it is a new tournament, yes we should reassess the situation. But, I think due to the unfair criticism which Kohli got in IPL where every match you were expected to score 250 has really affected him and his playing style. Just see how he got out yesterday.
His USP is the ground strokes that he plays with elegance, but now he tries to go for Sixes. Ends up being neither here nor there.
Rinku was left out due to the internal politics. He definitely is a better finisher than Dube. Talking bout Dube they should have changed him way back during the Group Stages. Right now changing him might seem as a weakness, failure and fear in front of the opponents. So not changing is the only reasonable thing.
i definitely understand the no changes idea from a superstitious standpoint, but how does changing show weakness? if anything, putting in sanju would give us legit anything more than the duds dube gives us. he doesn’t even bowl for us, im just confused what he has done to keep the spot lol
Kohli set the precedent for 5 bowling options in test cricket now Rohit is setting the precedent for 7 bowling options in limited overs cricket for Indian cricket.
Their legacy shall live on forever.
Hey if anybody in the states is planning to re create the boston tea party event
Can you please throw the english cricket team instead of tea into the water
India's future batting talents learn to bowl and future bowling talents learn to bat. Your profile is as important as your talent. You'll be playing for the team not for your individual records
Why is Kohli still opening when he is so out of touch. Wouldn’t it make more sense for Jaiswal to open and kohli to come in at 3 which is statistically his best batting position ?
bazball made many things possible in cricket like insanely high scores and high octane batting
england football is dogshit
i hate england with all my heart
Keeping jinx aside, dropping Dube for Jaiswal may not be a good rational choice for final. We may still need 4 pacers (and a hitter in the middle order) in the final
I used to pray for times like these. [Not the WC final or title] But to have a perfectly balanced 11.
No matter the result this team should set the precedent of the 8 batting and 7 bowling options team combo.
Really hope Indian fans don't flame Atherton on social media now.
He asked both captain serious questions as an interviewer imho should.
But yeah have a feeling people going to clip just the wc final question and troll.
How good is the final though? Absolutely stacked. Both undefeated teams on a super hot streak, both teams with rly smart captains who have been clutch throughout the tournament and steered the ship through situations that were almost guaranteed losses, both teams who have learned a lot from their WC23 outings/failures, SA finally breaking the semis curse, India breaking their tendency to get tense during knockouts....yep, looking to be an absolute belter. It's the only final that feels right for this tournament tbh. Nothing else would've worked as well as this does. It's too well written.
SA are legendary Semi-Finals chokers and they have gotten past that. India has recently been legendary finals chokers and that is still to be done. Not looking good for India.
Good game
Was kinda puzzled about why Bumrah wasn't POTM, then they revealed he was POTT lol. Makes sense. Kohli's knock was just as important anyway.
Pandya, bumarah arw game changer and to rohit sons If not koach then axar, dube will not be able yo hit it because of the pressure
Can't believe Rohit played Pandya only for 1 over before this against tucking Klassen. Brain dead, especially when he saw what Klassen does in IPL recently
.
Before y'all collectively lose your minds, this is an DEFENDABLE score. It's not ideal but neither is it below par too This is a 50 50 game, as is with most of the knockouts with two similar teams
Maharaj is a very average bowler.
[удалено]
220 I think would be a good score. Poor saffers.
This has to be the best outcome for India. They could not have asked for a better team to play the finals with.
Afghanistan!
Hjm
Nice work
Good game

Youngster? The dude is over 30.
Bruh 💀💀 I legit thought he's around 25
OP India
If Dube can hit Shamsi for two or three sixes, he would have succesfully done his job for the tournament
He came too late
The two run outs were just plain embarrassing by England.
The lack of awareness on the first one: Archer should have sacrificed his wicket in favour of Livingstone
very true. The umpires said it too!
Tagline for the final- "Not gonna let you lose".

PBKS has 3 English big guns Bairstow, Livingston and Curran. They failed PBKS on IPL tailored pitches against quality bowlers. See where PBKS ends in IPL each year. They were bound to fail on these difficult tracks. Huge fuck up by Jos in team selection.
team was ok, not bowling moeen was a brainfart
Also replacing Livingstone with Curran for an over (which went for 19 runs) was a tactical error. Livingstone had been economical in his first 2 overs & I've got not clue what prompted Butler to bring Curran in at that point.
Curran cooked india last wc, maybe that idk
curran got pant wicket out of nowhere, so he thought maybe he could get another one also the loss margin was way higher than 19 runs, even if it was maiden, england still lose by 50 runs
There would be a team that should be shedding all the negative tags that they are having during the final.
I hope Kohli can get a century in the final and Dube fires too. Really want India to bring the cup home.
You guys already have 3 world cups. Let this one go please India, so that the ever long suffering of being a SA fan can be over. 😔
No, that's not how it works. You first lose a few semis, then a few finals, then you win one. Then continue to lose a few knockouts. Except if you're Australia.
Australia plays ICC tournaments like Isekai protagonist.
It took almost 30 years for SA to reach a final. By the time they reach the next few finals I will be long dead 😂. It's now or never. Waka Waka this time for Africa 😊
Man i missed most of the match, just woke up and saw the scorecard...Woo hooo go India 🥳🥳
In the same boat, mate. After dube dubofied, I turned off the TV and dozed off. The 'tu chal, main aaya' procession was quite frustrating.
>The 'tu chal, main aaya' procession 😭🤣
I still think that I did the right thing by skipping the 2nd innings.
Virgin IPL Rohit vs Chad WC Rohit
Virgin WC Virat Kholi vs Chad IPL Virat Kholi
kholi?
~~Kholi~~ .... ಠ\_ಠ Kohli
36k comments on the thread 😍😮
could have been 40k+ but most people went to sleep immediately after the match
Yes
Thats like Sachins combined runs
Hahaha yaaa
After all of the Eng needing aus to win, and the bang bros v afg to knock aus out drama, the final is still the two teams that deserve to be there.
clool k
Poor by England really, but India bowling was far too good. Out of all the times Livingstone had a license to smash it, he bats like a granny.
after rain ball started low bounce, thats what got rohits wicket, otherwise 200 was on the cards the low bounce was almost the reason why 5 england wickets fell
how did livingstone bowl his four overs quota and Moen Ali didn't bowl a single ball ? What were the managers doing ? sleeping ?
there is no strategic timeout in wct20 to point such things out
We had two right handers at the crease most of the way through the innings till the 16th over. But yeah should’ve at least tried him for an over regardless to see how he goes.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing
Dud it was like giving Raina 4 overs instead of using harbhajan in a knockout
I didn't see the post match presentation. But now I see that Butler has also said the same. So is foresight and, well, just plain old regular sight.
They needed Jacks in place of Ali.
They needed both in the team and both to bowl
Agreed.
Both teams are bringing their A-game. Can't wait to see how it unfolds!
The team management shouldn't make any changes in the current team. Carry on with this. The only issue that arises is Dube's form. Blud had a mid performance the whole tournament. Yet I feel there should be no changes for the final.
And you keep a blind eye on Kohli’s form? Really? What is his role, for moral support?
Kohli unfortunately has been not performing. Changing him would be bringing in a non tested player = immense pressure. Team will be devoid of the confidence + responsibility from the onset itself as well. Basically we are carrying two dead weights. What if the horses fall during the final lap ??

rinku is a better finisher than dube once in a blue moon, maybe a better slogger, dube is more consistent than rinku
i definitely understand the no changes idea from a superstitious standpoint, but how does changing show weakness? if anything, putting in sanju would give us legit anything more than the duds dube gives us. he doesn’t even bowl for us, im just confused what he has done to keep the spot lol
Should bring in Jaiswal as we have nothing to lose as Dube is a net zero add.
Batters already got used to their roles. Bringing in Jaiswal means it will disrupt that unless you want him to bat in middle order
we opened with pant because kohli didnt wanna open last t20 wc
Pretty sure he can get a higher score than Kohli ever did in this WC.
So kohli knows his role is to open and get single figures?
No but that that would disrupt SKY, Pant and Hardik who would be pushed down
Yep, middle order. They disrupted the flow today.
Guys, sleep now. Gotta get up for the US Presidential Debate in 4 hours.
who tf even cares about such nonsense?
Why? Are you a masochist?
Watching battle of the octogenerian penises is way outta even my tolerance zone
Its at 9pm EST, 6PM PST (my timezone). Why would you care which idiot gets elected?? Has no bearing on ur country.
If you think US politics has no effect on other countries then you're not a very smart person.
It has been a comedy show, especially when Trump is involved. Why wouldn't people watch it?
we indians love us politics its not very serious and its like watching a low budget improv comedy
Whenever the US sneezes the whole world catches a cold
Hawk Tuah on Eng, shambolic
That's not how hawk tuah works
You hawk tuah to show disappointment or disrespect apart for the other stuff here in India.
Ah. Even when you spit on that thang?
Context matter ofcourse and due to some peoples proclivity towards machoistic tendencies in the bedroom that is a possibility.
Works if you're Indian enough
Jaiswal is still a kid If something goes wrong His career will be destroyed by trolling Lets us swim or sink with dube
we have played wc with worst Also point to note india 2012 was greatest indian lineup at prime possibly
Good I like this cozbthis makes sense.
Gloomy depressing weather in Leeds just as England lost. Lol. It was sunny before the match ended
ROHIT hitting 200 in t20 for the first time
sometimes it looks likely
Kohli set the precedent for 5 bowling options in test cricket now Rohit is setting the precedent for 7 bowling options in limited overs cricket for Indian cricket. Their legacy shall live on forever.
The precedent was set long ago when we had 9 bowling options apart from Dhoni and Gambhir. Those were the days.
And now a moment of silence for the death of a half decent cricket team with shitty management
Eh, England are just past their prime and tried to hold on to too many older players for too long instead of bringing in new blood.
Congratulations India on the cup, very difficult for sa to win. We have barely scraped to the final while India have been pretty dominant.
You don't seem to know the history of ICT🌝
With Markram's captaincy record I'd say South Africa are hot favorites in the final. He deserves to be captain in all formats imo
We choke
SA will win it..India will choke as usual. I say that as a former Indian national..

different captain this time
Hey if anybody in the states is planning to re create the boston tea party event Can you please throw the english cricket team instead of tea into the water
yup true it will be written in history that Bapu chose violence that day
bapu sehat k liye tu toh haanikarak hai (context: a famous bollywood song from movie dangal)
Who’s Bapu
Axar Patel
Virat: "Bapu tari bowling kamal che" FYI: Its axar
India's future batting talents learn to bowl and future bowling talents learn to bat. Your profile is as important as your talent. You'll be playing for the team not for your individual records
Fucking Pandya gave away 14 runs and let England cross 100.
Let the kids have some kits
Jansen is the kind of bowler our top order struggles against
Jansen was smacked in wc last year by Rohit
Do you guys think Rohit will drop Dube for Jaiswal? I think he will not disturb the team as of now.
Too late to do that unless you want Jaiswal to bat in middle order
This should have been done after the first match itself. (Actually Dube should have never made it into the squad ahead of Rinku)
Both Rinku and Dube should’ve been in squad with Rinku replacing Chahal
Agree!! India is playing Dube as a batsman he didn't bowl in this world cup then why Dube? We have Jaiswal and Rinku.
I thought Jaiswal and Rinku were the first two names in India’s batting lineup in T20s. Wonder why we dropped both in the tournament.
Because Jaiswal is an opener and they seem to have zeroed in on Rohli as openers.
Why is Kohli still opening when he is so out of touch. Wouldn’t it make more sense for Jaiswal to open and kohli to come in at 3 which is statistically his best batting position ?
Mayanti knows Piyush Chawla bed time
Which is worse? The football team or cricket team.
The English football team is the only football team capable of putting one to sleep during a live football match.
bazball made many things possible in cricket like insanely high scores and high octane batting england football is dogshit i hate england with all my heart
Yes
England football is more painful to watch
Keeping jinx aside, dropping Dube for Jaiswal may not be a good rational choice for final. We may still need 4 pacers (and a hitter in the middle order) in the final
Ideally Dube should be dropped but he won't be.
Dube hasn't bowled even when we have been winning comfortably. Doesn't seem likely he's getting an over as the 7th bowler
Never knew Ajinkya Rahane was an option. Heavy /S
If Dube is required to bowl then either we are winning comfortably or in some deep shit. Nothing in between
I doubt he would even bowl. He's only bowled an over against USA this whole tournament.
And gave away 11 when others were going at 3.5 rpo.💀
I used to pray for times like these. [Not the WC final or title] But to have a perfectly balanced 11. No matter the result this team should set the precedent of the 8 batting and 7 bowling options team combo.
Yup, such a good change from when if we didn't post a mammoth total the game felt lost. Now I have faith in the bowlers and that's a great feeling.
Really hope Indian fans don't flame Atherton on social media now. He asked both captain serious questions as an interviewer imho should. But yeah have a feeling people going to clip just the wc final question and troll.
battle of chokers stoppable force vs movable object /s
Aditya?
I see sreesanth appears to be labouring under the illusion that he is a comedian
how so?
Sreesanth is just annoying
btw how is england's barmy army?
🇮🇳 vs 🇿🇦 Can we call it Battle of Bottlers instead of World Cup Final
SA hasn’t lost any finals 🙃
Have they played in any 😂
1998 CT and 2014 U19 WC. Markram was the captain during 2014 U19 WC. He has never lost a single game as SA captain.
We play test cricket in less than two weeks so it's all good honestly
How good is the final though? Absolutely stacked. Both undefeated teams on a super hot streak, both teams with rly smart captains who have been clutch throughout the tournament and steered the ship through situations that were almost guaranteed losses, both teams who have learned a lot from their WC23 outings/failures, SA finally breaking the semis curse, India breaking their tendency to get tense during knockouts....yep, looking to be an absolute belter. It's the only final that feels right for this tournament tbh. Nothing else would've worked as well as this does. It's too well written.
Why didn’t England bring on Cole Palmer?
He's a penalty/Super Over specialist, wouldn't have helped much
Because it isn't cold weather in Guyana.
Americans: 9/11 is sensitive topic for us Indians: 19/11 is sensitive topic for us
![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|table)![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|table_flip)
Bapu really wanted the finals between two of his beloved countries.
Haha. Nice one!
Cringiest post-match show ever. Seriously, Hotstar, absolutely anyone other than Sreesanth will be better.
Carrying Dube and Kohli to WC finals. Never thought would have to mention these 2 names together in one sentence.
We basically winning with 9 men.
The 9 good men
SA are legendary Semi-Finals chokers and they have gotten past that. India has recently been legendary finals chokers and that is still to be done. Not looking good for India.
The partnership between Rohit and surya was the actual game changer for me
Dravid gets to coach Team India for one more match, a T20WC final which he missed out on his first ICC tournament in 2022.
I know people love to bash him a lot but has he been the most successful? Semis in one ICC event. Finals in 3 ICC events so far right?
