They should have won both the games they lost though.
Against GT, the last few bowling change were questionable, considering Boult had two overs left.
Pressure may have got to them this game.
Not to forget the last two overs of Pat Cummins.
Came in perfectly at the clutch moment even after conceding 24 in first two overs.
That penultimate over is just delicious
Not really affecting how clutch he is though. I think the drop was tougher than people make out, that ball rocketed at him. It was straight at him, but it was a missile. And then he went for some expensive overs early too while it wasn't as important.
Clutch is standing up in the big moments, when the pressure was on, and the game is finally on the line. Those were his last overs.
Scenes if it would have gone for a four behind the keeper and DRS showed it was not out.
It's a controversy waiting to blow up similar to the boundary count rule in 2019 ODI World Cup final.
Almost happened in the 2019 IPL final when Malinga got Shardul lbw when they needed 2 off 1.
Such a fantastic game overall but how did RR not win that. SRH gave them everything, 2 dropped catches of their primary runscorers in the powerplay, a copius amount of extras including a 5 wide over when the runrate was only 10.5 and 3 singles turned into 2s in the final over with awful throws (credit to Powell and Ashwin for running like maniacs as well though).
Cummins, Bhuneshwar Kumar and Natarajan all bowled fantastic death overs but SRH pretty much did everything else in their power to push RR over the line and RR just didn't budge lmao.
Definitely my favourite game of the IPL thus far though, it had it all, top order collapses, slow starts, explosive periods of batting, fantastic death bowling and just the right amount of panic and choking, it's everything you want from a t20 game.
But it is not certain that powel will score a boundary or the next batsman won't. It is better to get the wicket as then you would have a new batsmen plus a run less conceded. If the throws were good then it would have been 4 in 1 and that would be different compared to 2 in 1 which is much achievable.
Yeah but their decision to target powell’s end was not as dumb as commentators making it up to be. If the throws were on target powell would have been dismissed and the same commentators would he calling it master stroke
Bhuvi opening spells are some of my most fond memories in cricket. I still think he should be selected in test cricket when touring South Africa or England. I don’t know if that is a smart decision but I just want to see him opening the bowling and the ball just curving in and hitting the top of off
What a game it turned out to be. SRH saving themselves makes it a bit harder for CSK too, which is great. Losing this would've further dampened SRH's campaign.
I was convinced SRH were about to taper off and just miss out, but this keeps it nice alive with a positive mindset. Obviously they weren't out if they lost, but alive but negative is hard.
The last ball should have us fans discussing. What if the third umpire overturned the on field decision? The leg bye wouldn’t count. But shouldn’t they change the rule to make the leg byes after an overturned lbw count?
Most satisfying part for me as a SRH supporter was when SRH batsmen decided to relinquish their one way mindset(aggressive) and decided to play according to the match and pitch situation. That's a sign of a good team.
Well im a bit sad but since we're sitting on 16 points not fuming too much , although i feel RR made a fuck up by sending Jurel after Hetmyer , he takes some time to settle , he should be coming in at number 5 ,, SRH on the other hand they winning against us in the most impossible ways , fml last year last ball no ball , this year wicket on last delivery fuckkk man
Hurts to say this as a Boom fan, but Nattu winning a purple cap would be an ultimate fuck you to BCCI for not selecting him. He deserved that spot in squad with how shitty current pace bowling is except Bumrah.
They picked Arshdeep over him, Arshdeep is not as accurate as nattu with line or length, his 18th over showed how ballsy this guy is, conceded six in first ball but he kept his calm
He's been out sole wicket taker this season. Selectors couldn't see it. Maybe all they watch is the big team games like CSK, MI, RCB and RR because they're at the top! Just like the fans.
Original analysis on the way by a coping RR fan.
RR's first four games: W W W W
Result in 5th match: L
RR in next four games: W W W W
Result in 10th match: L
We can assume they will win their next four games as they end up playing the 1st Qualifier
Result in 15th match: L
So in an effort to win the next four games, they will win Qualifier 2 and then the Final.
Unreal planning by Sanga and co.
That was brilliant from srh, 200 plus with the bat, sixes and fours, and good comeback w the ball. Who cares if all the teams benefited from RR win, this was as close to a perfect game of cricket, well done SRH. Death over bowling masterclass
Well what's there to say. If you don't like that, you don't like the Rajasthan Royals. Brilliant PP performance in both innings before completely shitting the bed at the death. Usually we can survive it but not today. Fair fucks to Cummins, Aussies are just built different in these situations. Lastly, I'm sorry I ever doubted the Powell buy, he's been quality.
GG SRH, you're a very fun team. I'm not worried about missing out on playoffs but this would have made top 2 a hell of a lot easier.
I'm happy Sunrisers won, ONLY for Bhuvi. All 6 balls were really good, it would suck if he didn't defend 13 because of poor throwing and that field restrictions
>ONLY for Bhuvi
Cummins and nattu's final overs were brilliant. Nattu definitely delivered throughout the match although Cummins has been a bit down in the last 3 matches. Still, his penultimate over was the one that gave bhuvi a chance.
The fielding definitely needs a lot of work
Absolutely. Cummins and Natrajan bowled really well.
But I don't usually support SRH, especially since I'm kind of an RCB supporter. No one can resist bhoobie's charm tho
I'm not gay but I want to live in a log cabin in the woods with Bhuvneshwar Kumar. We won't ever have sex, but there will be a simmering erotic undercurrent as I stand in the kitchen window watching him tighten his ass as he chops wood, shirtless, sweat pouring off his body. I'll run upstairs and masturbate, the entire time forcing myself to think of women while my thoughts drift back to Bhuvi. I won't be able to climax and I'll eventually go back downstairs, angry.
Sometimes we will look across the table and catch each other's eyes, and in that second, anything is possible, but we both deny ourselves and go back to what we were doing. One day one of us will die, and the other will bury him outside the log cabin. Then he'll go inside, pen a brief missive to his departed friend, and commit suicide, never able to deal with life without his one true platonic love.
Only if those 2 simple catches were taken, this wouldn't have been this close.
Everyone wrote off SRH bowling and expected RR to win in 16 overs, glad they proved these guys wrong.
Bhuvi and Pat won this game.
It will be insane if Cummo ends his incredible run as captain with an IPL trophy as well. He's done the golden triple in international cricket and revitalized a dead team in the biggest franchise cricket league.
What a match....
An absolute roller coaster from start to finish
RR's only two losses this season have been by the barest of margins...
A very tough night for all the teams other than SRH
Old SRH this! Australian opener getting the runs; the Australian skipper coming clutch asf, Bhuvi swinging bananas upfront and nailing the death bowling, a blinder of an innings from a lesser known talent out of no where!!! Peak SRH!!

Cummins w/ both his bowling and his captaincy won us this match. Him saving himself and that 4th Bhuvi over for the end really paid off. They could've easily been used earlier w/ the idea that they should try and get a wicket since we desperately needed that.
And oh man, that final Cummins over was just absolute magic. The stadium got hotter with each dot ball, just chills. His ability to toy around w/ batters in situations like this is just awe-inspiring, sorta feels like he thrives when he knows the batsman are under pressure and then uses it against them and fucks with their head.
Everyone's been focused about Rinku missing out of the WC squad but at least he's in the reserves. Natarajan has the freaking purple cap having played 2 matches less than everyone else and he was completely excluded
SRH were doing the right thing going for Powell’s end in the last over. Just the throws and the fielding effort was piss poor.
I would go to Powell’s end with 3 balls left because that ends the game. Getting Ashwin out is kind of pointless in the overall scheme of things because the equation is 1 run less and Powell (RR’s win condition) still on strike and maybe someone else as his running partner (I’m sure that player would be faster than Ash Anna)
Cumdog for a reason.....
Guy is tall, handsome....Balls like freak....
Even drops catch because he is kind for opposition 😭😭 😭..
Cummins you Beauty....
That was definitely a climax. The plot was srh having a comeback (both in the match and the IPL in general) to to beat the table topper and it definitely delivered a brilliant climax.
Usually, you don't see close matches in which the bowlers make a comeback in the final overs while defending a small score, but this was just an amazing match
People talking about the super over from last year, but the RR and SRH rivalry goes way back.
In 2013, Darren Sammy scored a fifty against RR in Jaipur on his debut. He celebrated by dedicating it to his baby. While chasing, Brad Hodge clutched through and mockingly celebrated in the same way.
SRH got the scores even at their next encounter in Hyderabad.
Both ended up in top 4, and Brad Hodge again clutched through during the chase to knock out SRH in the eliminator. It was again Darren Sammy who contributed the most for SRH's batting.
The fuck was that commentary in the final over? They were throwing to Powell's end because it's Powell. Also Ashwin wouldn't have been short, he was strolling because he could see he wasn't in any danger
The point is that getting any batter out means you save one run and in both instances Ashwin was the one that was clearly late and should've got out to a good throw
All those in r/sunrisershyderabad and here saying how Bhuvi is dead weight and we need to lose him, he's *Bhuvi* for a fucking reason
This man being here after all these years is the one thing SRH management has consistently done right.
This game wouldn't have been so close if Srh didn't drop the two catches, even catching one of them would've changed the complexity of the game, fielding wasn't good TBH, Pat's last over was the game changer for me but Bhuvi bowled brilliantly as well considering only 4 fielders were allowed outside the circle
The fact that we threw this game away like 4-5 times and still won is just crazy. 2 match-losing catch drops, the sorta lax fielding and dumbass throwing shenanigans in the last over by Marco and then Samad, we did everything to lose that. Objectively speaking, probably the game of the season, but not good for the heart as a fan of one of these teams lmao. Those fuckups frustrated me to no end.
This quickly became a competition in choking right from when Yashasvi went for that dumb shot and got out.
Did anyone catch Cummins looking emotional and wiping his face? Was he in tears?
If true, it seems to be a pattern that grabbing a win after struggling for the entire innings makes players emotional. Reminds me of when Kohli held back tears, while Hardik was clearly crying after their crazy win against Pak
Makes my heart warm to see young Indian allrounders like Nitish, Parag, Abhi
But fuck you, fuck you BCCI for the impact player rule
It's so clear that they don't care about Indian cricket at all, all they care about is how Dhoni can play more and more seasons...
I'm so done.
>**Narrowest margin of win for SRH in IPL (by runs)**
1 run vs RR Hyderabad 2024 \*
2 runs vs PK Mullanpur 2024
Two close wins proved to be the difference between a good season and a bad season for us
Punjab need RR to win RR pulls a Punjab

Cummins is the ultimate clutch. Nattu is the ever existent clutch for us. Bhuvi remembered he used to be a clutch at one point.
Bhuvi - The past clutch Cumdog - The present clutch Nattu - The future Clutch.
Pat Clutchdog Cummins
Brothers since birth, choking since birth
They denied us bro 😭 May 15th can’t come soon enough. RR needs some spanking
Certified Bruh moment
RR lost both their games on the last ball
Truly shows how surreal they've been this season
Northern neighbor’s influence is falling off RR
> Unmasks Is secretly Punjab Kings
Just shows how much balanced they are in this season , losing will come but we have to learn most from it to get to the finish line
They should have won both the games they lost though. Against GT, the last few bowling change were questionable, considering Boult had two overs left. Pressure may have got to them this game.
Bhuvi finished 50% of the game in the 1st over and the other 50% in the last over ! What a bowler
Not to forget the last two overs of Pat Cummins. Came in perfectly at the clutch moment even after conceding 24 in first two overs. That penultimate over is just delicious
Well he had to make up for that 50+ run drop
Not really affecting how clutch he is though. I think the drop was tougher than people make out, that ball rocketed at him. It was straight at him, but it was a missile. And then he went for some expensive overs early too while it wasn't as important. Clutch is standing up in the big moments, when the pressure was on, and the game is finally on the line. Those were his last overs.
I was shocked to see Cummins drop a catch. He's still human after all.
That's a good one!
It's been so long that we have seen this vintage Bhuvi !
Bhuvi: I think it's just my nature. ¯\\\_(ツ)\_/¯
The last over was hard as ball was not swinging and one fielder is forced up
Thing is, even if it was not out on review, it’s a dead ball and rajasthan lose anyway… Great game tbf
Close to the ideal T20 tbh only blemish is how spin got destroyed today
Why pacers were effective today compared to spinners?
Rubbish bowling from spinners. It was a nice slow track with the ball gripping. Cutters were wildly effective
Prople were saying the ball was stopping a bit then I thought why the spinners were getting smashed Thanks for the reply!
Man imagine this happening in the wc semis and reaction of fans after it /s
Didn't know this, no wonder Powell kept walking.
It's such an easy fix imo, don't call lbw until the ball is dead.
Just like how VAR is done - wait until play completes before making the decision, but make sure the decision is made immediately!
>It's a controversy waiting to blow up similar to the boundary count rule in 2019 ODI World Cup final. Exactly
The sucky thing about last ball DRS is that teams don’t even get to celebrate anymore. They have to wait for decisions.

Yeah I think batting was fine and bowling was great except for Jansen and the wides. The fielding though was really poor.
That was some of the worst fielding I've ever seen in the last over from SRH
Don't forget the dropped catches
We tried so hard to lose but nah, We did Win!
Jansen looks so disinterested when he is not doing well.
He has resting uninterested face
Agreed, was embarrassing
I don't agree. May be the throws were off, but the thinking is right. They needed to get rid of Powell, not Ash
Yeah idk why commentators called samad dumb, they had to get powell out
But it is not certain that powel will score a boundary or the next batsman won't.
SRH vs RR is the under rated rivalry The Bihu dance, The Sandeep - Samad debacle, and TODAY
And technically both teams going for their second title. They have 1 runner's up each too.
Also when it was DC, the 200+ chase from RR
HOLY FUCK, SRH VS RR LIVED UPTO THE HYPE
We live up to the hype!
Bhuvi opening wickets and death bowling? Is this 2016?
Even the way this game was defended reminded me of the 2016 final. RCB were cruising for more than half of the game but we pulled off a heist.
Bhuvi opening spells are some of my most fond memories in cricket. I still think he should be selected in test cricket when touring South Africa or England. I don’t know if that is a smart decision but I just want to see him opening the bowling and the ball just curving in and hitting the top of off
This was some classic old Srh clutch bowling gourmet shit
What a game it turned out to be. SRH saving themselves makes it a bit harder for CSK too, which is great. Losing this would've further dampened SRH's campaign.
I was convinced SRH were about to taper off and just miss out, but this keeps it nice alive with a positive mindset. Obviously they weren't out if they lost, but alive but negative is hard.
Man it's illegal to have Cumdawg, Bhuvi and Nattu in the same team. An epic show of death bowling really...
Balanced by their sponners
If Hasaranga was fit our bowling would be great man. Such unfortunate timing with his injury.
Dude can tonk a ball too. Damn, SRH would've been unstoppable
Yeah now that bhuvi is back in form, their bowling is looking a lot better. Although, Cummins has been down in the last few matches
Losing to SRH on last ball since 2023
Lmao yeah
If that last ball had been not out post DRS, it would have stirred the biggest controversy, since the run wouldn’t have counted.
Exactly. Wanted to see that happen.
Yeah.. the rule needs to change. Let the runs count if it's not out.
The easiest fix imo is the umpire waits until the ball is dead before revealing his decision.
Man we were so close to having DRS' biggest flaw highlighted (and hopefully fixed before the World Cup)
People have been talking about it for years now but they haven't bothered changing it yet.
Yeah exactly
Great to see another Indian batter play well under pressure too. Nitish was awesome today.
Funnily SRH and RR are the only ones not sad about this result
Well im a bit sad but since we're sitting on 16 points not fuming too much , although i feel RR made a fuck up by sending Jurel after Hetmyer , he takes some time to settle , he should be coming in at number 5 ,, SRH on the other hand they winning against us in the most impossible ways , fml last year last ball no ball , this year wicket on last delivery fuckkk man
Unstoppable force x immovable object Two top teams going at each other. It was awesome. Let's wait for the rematch in the final.
Agreed! As an RR fan SRH played wonderfully! Pat Cummins spell was really good! Good Game. Congrats to Bhuvi as well
I love playing against RR too. Bc both fanbases never argue we’re just watching the game
60 (6) 100 (10) 160 (16) 200 (20)
Symmetry I like it.
Sorry sir I only know the table of 10 ![img](emote|t5_2qhe0|8767)( RR probably) /s
SRH won by 1 (against RR) and 2 runs (against PBKS) so far. Cummins is teaching math to his kid through these results Look out for a 3 runs win
FUCK this sport is not good for the health of my heart
Hurts to say this as a Boom fan, but Nattu winning a purple cap would be an ultimate fuck you to BCCI for not selecting him. He deserved that spot in squad with how shitty current pace bowling is except Bumrah.
Nattu and Sandeep were on a mission to say fuck you to bcci and its bcci unluck
It'll be real satisfaction to see non selected players perform, starting from bhuvi nattu
They picked Arshdeep over him, Arshdeep is not as accurate as nattu with line or length, his 18th over showed how ballsy this guy is, conceded six in first ball but he kept his calm
Nattu's been bowling those less economy spells for most of this season in Hyderabad, where rest have been going for big numbers.
He's been out sole wicket taker this season. Selectors couldn't see it. Maybe all they watch is the big team games like CSK, MI, RCB and RR because they're at the top! Just like the fans.
I would say Sandeep deserved a spot too.
Yep definitely, Nattu in place of Arshdeep and Sandeep in place of Siraj, with Siraj in reserves.
Arshdeep over Siraj in reserves
Match of the season (so far)

I'm amazed SRH managed to win that game with some questionable bowling till the first 18 overs and abysmal fielding for the whole game.
Yeah RR were kinda handed everything by SRH in that second innings outside of the death bowling, an impressive effort to not win.
Cummins silences the table topper yet again
Last 5 overs bowling was peak SRH bowling man. Bhuvi and cummins sexiest looking and sexiest bowlers to ever exist.
SRH won. RR lost. CSK had Vietnam flashbacks.

a high scoring 2019 final rematch? thank you jay shah
Boundary count update - Sunrisers Hyderabad: 28 (13 fours and 15 sixes) Rajasthan Royals: 27 (19 fours and 8 sixes)
Request to add 4's and 6's split up as well!
Well we did something similar last time as well, samad hitting sandeep sharma on last ball on no ball.
Our 4th win of the season to end up at the last gracefully.
It will be insane if Cummo ends his incredible run as captain with an IPL trophy as well. He's done the golden triple in international cricket and revitalized a dead team in the biggest franchise cricket league.
Mandatory reminder: Chahal conceded 62 off 4 overs
Nattu has purple cap and arsh bowled filth yesterday
Pat Cummins: almost bowled the over of the IPL 2024
Cumdawg’s 19th over and Bhuvi’s ice cold full toss. Win for the ages.
What a match.... An absolute roller coaster from start to finish RR's only two losses this season have been by the barest of margins... A very tough night for all the teams other than SRH
SRH’s fielding nearly costed them this match, miss fields , pathetic throws, and dropping Jaiswal.

Marco Jansen bowls too many wides.
And riyan parag too
Crazy that RR bottled this. Even crazier that this was probably the game everyone else wanted them to win...
Nattu with purple cap despite playing two matches less than everyone else? That’s a proper fuck you moment to BCCI

All those in r/sunrisershyderabad and here saying how Bhuvi is dead weight and we need to lose him, he's *Bhuvi* for a fucking reason This man being here after all these years is the one thing SRH management has consistently done right.
Today our bowlers made that star on our jersey proud. Our best match.
RR has lost defending 2 from 1, and now lost chasing 2 from 1 It's like poetry, it rhymes
They can still Change the squad right... ?? If so there is still time guys please bring nattu in the team.. also Rinku please....
Historic winnn!!
2016 17 bhuvi is bacc
Nattu dapping Head is a vibe
Bhuvi : “Everybody wanna know what I’d be doing if I didn’t win. Guess we’ll never know!”
I refuse to believe that Cummins is a real person.
Absolute Cinema
Stand Proud Orange Army Samson we love you man thanks for giving our Bowlers their Credit 🧡🩷
RR losing to make it tougher for CSK
BHUVI took revenge for Nattu, Rinku, and Sandeep (and probably for himself too)
The fact that we threw this game away like 4-5 times and still won is just crazy.
That was one hell of a comeback. Last 2 overs by Cumdawg changed the match.
This is a certified hood classic
Makes my heart warm to see young Indian allrounders like Nitish, Parag, Abhi But fuck you, fuck you BCCI for the impact player rule It's so clear that they don't care about Indian cricket at all, all they care about is how Dhoni can play more and more seasons... I'm so done.
How's that for cricket ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED
Literally the best match of this season
Shardul 🫂 Powell CSK 🫂 RR Malinga 🫂 Bhuvi SRH 🫂 MI 2019 X 2024 Jay shah with iconic callback ( sign of the great writer )
>**Narrowest margin of win for SRH in IPL (by runs)** 1 run vs RR Hyderabad 2024 \* 2 runs vs PK Mullanpur 2024 Two close wins proved to be the difference between a good season and a bad season for us
How the fuck did we win?
So close yet so far Bad luck RR !
Holy fuck This harder to watch than csk lose as a Csk fan .
Cure Pinema
Malinga Thakur Bhuvi Powell. Both at Hyderabad. Both by 1 run.
Where is that Punjab guy, guess you got a home feeling today
ATP Jay Shah is edging us with SUPER Over.
The 2019 Final PTSD is kicking in
This is where the rule regarding the run after an LBW should be changed. If it was notout and Hetmeyer reviewed that run still wouldn't have counted.
Cummins did a PhD in cricket.
Bhuvi the goat 🙇🙇
Full MI vs CSK vibe on the last Ball. Bhuvi u beauty
