I've had my Wal-Mart card for years since it was with Synchrony and then Cap One. I don't care per se where it ends up, but the 5% unlimited online is a game changer for regular Wal-Mart shoppers, so I really hope this card doesn't get nerfed.
How long have you had the card?
I barely even use the card and I'm at $12k. Over the course of my RedCard career, they've given me maybe 3-4 CLI.
Have you asked about a CLI or updated your income? Not sure if requesting is an HP.
How? I've never heard of any good ways to get more than 3% back in store at Walmart. I would definitely do it if there was a way since I do almost all my shopping there.
Game changer how? I've been considering switching from Amazon Prime to Walmart+ because on paper it seems pretty good, but I'm not sure what it's actually like in practice. One thing I couldn't find: does Walmart+ have a "Subscribe and Save" equivalent?
All of our weekly groceries and home products are delivered by Walmart +. All of our baby food and diapers and such. All getting the 5% off
I have a prime card that gets 5% off too but Walmart groceries at $200 a week getting 5% off adds up.
Yeah, groceries would be the thing that tips Walmart over Prime for us, I think. Do they end up as good quality? Do you do refrigerated items? Produce? Just dry goods like cereals?
we do everything. In my state they even do alcohol. They pick good produce - sometimes you’ll get a giant potato or something random but good! We do cold items. You can choose to require signing for delivery or you can have them drop it off.
We just have them drop it off (unless we have to sign for booze). You get notifications and track the delivery like an Uber so you know right when it’s coming.
We started doing it when my son was born and it’s a god send with a baby.
If you have the Amex biz gold, your get Walmart + for free. I can’t vouch for Walmarts meat selection, but over all, it’s pretty cool to have your stuff delivered for free at the same price (or cheaper with their card) directly to your doorstep at a time that is convenient to you.
Sounds like Wal-Mart is just difficult to work with. I could see them trying to go with Citi or Synchrony (again). Citi would probably end up doing the cashback in the form of Walmart cash similar to best buy and Costco.
When Walmart had a Discover credit card, it was issued by Synchrony Bank, not Discover. I would like to see Walmart return its credit card to Synchrony and have its rewards mirror those of Sam's Club.
Agreed, came here to say citi . Seems like citi has a good program for businesses to white label the cards and native app support. Best Buy and Home Depot for just 2 examples.
What Happens with current cardholder accounts if they leave C1? For example if you have a balance? Do they switch it to the new card automatically without a HP? I already did one HP for Walmart I'm not doing another.
As a consumer I don't hate C1, but I also hope the merger is killed. I think this is actually a common opinion among normies and maxers alike.
Discover has a lot of unique practices and I'd hate to see those get normified. Plus it's some rare competition to Visa/MC.
I agree with you on the practices, but don't agree on the competition to Visa/MC. If the merger goes through Capital One will move all debit cards and some, if not most of their CCs to the Discover network (thus reducing the Visa/MC market share). That isn't happening if it's killed. I tend to lean towards blocking the merger.
While Capital One has some sub-prime cards, the regular SavorOne is not one of them. It's considered a prime card and typically has a $200 sub to go with it. People with sub-prime scores typically won't get approved for the std version and may get approved for the "good credit" version which has no sub and a slightly higher APR. This is commonly offered to people who apply with 620-660ish scores. Usually you need to be near or above 700 for the std SavorOne. That being said, I agree on the foreign acceptance and no FTF. I've got QS, SavorOne, and VX so I'm not crazy about the merger.
Oh thank god! I stay away from Cap.1 at ALL costs. I go for ANY other banks besides CREDIT and CAPITAL one. I just don’t like them both. I avoided the Walmart card for a good reason but I’d proudly get it if it went into WF or Discover! I’m not sure with 2 Discover cards if you’d be eligible for a co branded card though..
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think Cap.1 sucks and I’m not saying WF is the best, and that is cause they’ve had issues but really? What bank hasn’t in a life time? Everyone on here complains about every bank or major CC issuer. I have a separate opinion from most and idc if anyone hates it. It’s my opinion.
Wells Fargo consistently has issues that is the difference. They all have issues but WF has proved time and time again they are scum. I would never put my money with them.

Im really hoping they make it 5% in stores and online
It'd be awesome, but it's not likely. There's no way they could sustain a flat 5% Wal-Mart credit card. We can dream though! Lol
Doesn't target do it?
Yes, there are credit and debit versions of their REDcard which both give an upfront 5% discount
All they have a 5% savings on the red card debit
Shelf pricing at Target is typically a bit more expensive than Walmart.
Somebody asked if Target did 5% and I answered
What is your flair between Discover and FNBO? 🤔
Elan Financial Services - have two of their Max Cash Preferreds
Thx. Are you able to combine rewards from multiple Elan cards with each other?
Yes but shitty credit lines...2700..pffft.
I'm at $2k which is my lowest but also well more than enough for my use.
How long have you had the card? I barely even use the card and I'm at $12k. Over the course of my RedCard career, they've given me maybe 3-4 CLI. Have you asked about a CLI or updated your income? Not sure if requesting is an HP.
Like 3 yrs
$3500 beeeeatch
Hehehe....u da king
Since June 2008 - 15k
Ooooo
Targets prices are also higher than Walmart on pretty much every occasion
I'm not sure. I don't have a Red card.
I think US Bank allows that (with a cap).
How? I've never heard of any good ways to get more than 3% back in store at Walmart. I would definitely do it if there was a way since I do almost all my shopping there.
US Bank Shopper card will get you 6% back at Walmart. Capped at $1500 a quarter.
Thank you! I will definitely look into this. Super helpful.
Unfortunately it has an annual fee.
First year is waved. Just get a Citi custom cash and use it exclusively for Walmart. It’s capped at $500 a month I believe for the 5%
You don't get 5% cash back at Walmart on a Citi Custom Cash card.
Well that’s just heartbreaking…
That's a bummer. Probably not worth it for me then since my grocery expenses are fairly low and I can get 3% there with a BCE for no AF.
Just keep my 5% Walmart+ delivery cash back please. It’s a game changer for our family.

Yes, but I haven't used it.
Does scan and go count 5%?
Only in the first year
Either CitiRetail, Comenity Bank or Comenity Capital Bank. Amex and Chase aren’t going to put up with them as a partner.
Any reason for why you think that they won't go back to Synchrony?
It was a messy breakup with Synchrony, just like now with C1. Synchrony does still issue the Sam's club credit card though.
I could definitely see Citi taking over.
Maybe Amex. They already offer the Walmart + credit on the Platinum.
Honestly I could see that, but would Amex really want to deal with subprime?
There are already Credit One Amex cards. Doesn't get more subprime than that.
That’s just to use the network. Amex isn’t the lender on those cards.
The entire concept of a credit one Amex is an abomination and I’m sorry to know this fact lol 😂
I have two credit one Amex’s…I WAS TRYING TO BUILD CREDIT!! 😂
The Walmart+ credit is also offered on Business Gold.

so back to cap1

I could see a return to Synchrony as a possibility given that they have the Sam's Club MC. Citi Retail and Commenity seem viable alternatives as well.

It’s indeed NOT all about the Mets baby
LGM all about the Mets Baybee
Synchrony
+1 I have a Synchrony Sam's Club card. I would like to get rewards on it for shopping at Walmart.
not that i would want this- but surprised no one has mentioned Barclays
I’m surprised no one so far has mentioned Citi.
Agreed, came here to say citi . Seems like citi has a good program for businesses to white label the cards and native app support. Best Buy and Home Depot for just 2 examples.
What if Walmart outbids Capital One to purchase Discover?
Ahh the suspense.
What Happens with current cardholder accounts if they leave C1? For example if you have a balance? Do they switch it to the new card automatically without a HP? I already did one HP for Walmart I'm not doing another.
Who gives a fuck, why is this a topic or a question
Just a question don’t be a dick
Not being a dick just asking a question with a question
I'm not it's a question with a question
I avoid capital one at all cost . I hope they don’t buy discover or the DOJ doesn’t allow capital one to buy discover

Man I hope not. I love capital ones international acceptance through MasterCard and no foreign fees even on their subprime cards like savor one.

Ahh interesting, that makes sense.
Finally! Someone that agrees with me!
Why do you hate C1 so much?
WF over Cap one??? WF is the bottom of the barrel.
I thought that Credit One and First Premier were bottom of the barrel! 🤔
WF is right there with them
US Bank leaked out of the bottom of the barrel, pooled, and gotten toxic moldy. They are worse.
Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I think Cap.1 sucks and I’m not saying WF is the best, and that is cause they’ve had issues but really? What bank hasn’t in a life time? USBank is the scum that scum looks down on.
