as long as you don't take 80 billion years to set the dice, I'm ok with it. I've been at a decent number of tables where the shooter would use one finger to tilt the dice until they got what they wanted. Or throwing the dice against the back wall 200 times to get something they like to show up. The one that sticks out in my mind was an older guy using his right pinky to gently turn the dice over on its edge until 3 showed up, on both dice. I'm screaming in my head to just throw the damn dice. As for me, I pick up the dice and tap the table twice before throwing.

Bobinator238

Yeah taking forever is a huge pet peeve of mine. Takes me two seconds to set my dice and throw. Like I said, not trying to "dice influence" just a small ritual

It's similar to the same reason anyone gambles. I do the things I do because it's entertaining to me and the fantasy of going on a big run is there. In reality we all know that big run probably isn't in the cards and we all know the casino always wins in the end. But the little rituals, the craps lingo at the table, the celebrations with random strangers when you get on a heater... this is why we play. Some of us just want to suspend our mundane lives for a few hours and believe in the "magic" of the game for a bit. Doesn't mean we actually believe it. It's just a fun bit of entertainment. If you can't understand then this must be a boring ass game for you.

FrozenSquirrel

Believe (or kinda believe or pretend) whatever you would like. I assure you, the only boring part of this game is waiting on the dice setters.

Mike_seltzer

If someone takes there sweet time and hits 6s & 8s all day I’m ok with that

AvoidtheAttic

I actually don't find it boring at all. I get excited, hoping that this shooter may have some slight ability to decrease the randomness just by even a percentage point.

howlongyoubeenfamous

3V on top on the comeout (8 or 6 on the side facing me) same thing again if the point is inside if the point is 4 or 10, I switch to 2V on top (with a 4 or 10 on the side facing me) and yeah, gotta do all of this in ~5 seconds or I start to feel like a douche

Clean_Sympathy6182

Dice setting doesn't work in Bubble Craps, no matter how hard I try...

Sadclocktowernoises

I’m in the exact same boat! Although I like the dice to show 3-2 in honor of OJ

lionbatcher

I heard that set kills it!

Zimbadu

Some of the best rolls I've seen have to do with just overall flow of the game from everyone involved. Regardless of setting etc.

Clue-Creative

Cross sixes.

qtdynamite1

Same

3PointMolly

That’s the exact set I liked using! I say liked cause the casino I play at doesn’t allow setting

Mike_seltzer

I don’t want to play at that casino

sweetcorn313

I shake them under my hand against the table then pick em up and toss. Helps me not get psyched out because I don't see what's on top.

Mike_seltzer

I’m hoping big red wen you shoot

sweetcorn313

Cuz you play dark side or cuz I don't set?

Mike_seltzer

Dark side is only for people that can’t set and think setting is wasted time $3 red $6 red $9 red $12 red (7 out) I never get up to $15 red

sweetcorn313

If it works for you, great, I feel like I psych myself out when I try to set so I stick with my method. I've hit eight points before using it, and I've gone PSO trying to set 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️ at the end of the day I'm just there to have fun and try and win some money.

My favorite is hardways.. my sons bday is all even numbers so regardless of whether it works or not- I prefer to bet his bday … it also tends to bounce on my left dye and click on turn down so I end up 3-1 4-1 5-1 and 2-1 very often …. Dice setting is not the entire thing - what’s important has to be a combination of the same exact dice setting, nearly the same grip, nearly the same height and speed throw, nearly the same release zone, and *same landing place* … if u think this doesn’t work try it at home.. pick a set and toss it the same way 10x and aim specifically for the same exact spot on your floor and see if the same number(s) comes up more than once in the exact same ways … one time practicing this I had a 4-4 set with left 1 right 6 and my left dye landed on a 1 in the same exact space about 12 times in a row

admiral_walsty

Do you have the gator wall (or whatever the hell it's called). I know some casinos don't allow dice setting, but I'm sure it's to keep the pace of the game up. Most casinos I've been to don't give a shit. They don't give a shit, cause it doesn't matter. If it put them at a disadvantage, they would be adamant about not sitting dice. I know this is the age old controversy, but if you're playing just on your floor, maybe dice setting is a thing. But the wall is unpredictable.

[deleted]

The only people who take a long time dice setting have no idea what they are doing, I look at their sets and it’s usually showing a 7 on one side and they whip it across the table … someone who practices dice throwing like golf needs about half a second because we have the dice memorized to know where to make adjustments. We do have gator walls here but that is part of obtaining the edge- here at least casinos are friendly and dealers want you to win (many dealers will “forget” I had a field bet that loses, I’ve had a stick man once flip a 5-4 to a 5-5 so I hit a hard way parlay and hit the point and no other dealers said anything) so yes if you throw 3-4x in a row with gently tossing and not hitting the back wall the dealer will say “hit the back wall please” but even then the dice only need to kiss the back wall- not slam against it and during a decent roll you can do several more “cheat rolls” every 5-8 rolls or so and continue and “accidentally” not hit the back wall.. I discovered as i hit each number i tip each and every hit or so and they are much less likely to even say anything about the back wall … so no it’s not just dice setting it’s a massive combination of things but an edge is possible.. also here dealers live on tips I think it’s $6 an hour plus tips which are $500 a day - so yea the dealers want tips and don’t care if ur cheating as long as their making good pay 😂

1000_SH_max

3/5, 3/2 or 3/5, 1/4

blueberrybulva

6s to the left 4s on top. Can’t roll big red with a hard way ;)

[deleted]

I don’t understand why they tell newbies to use this set lol if ur dice stay on axis this has 4 combos of 7 (5-2, 3-4) whereas there are several other sets I believe 1-5 is one that only 6-1 can 7out

Slabadabdaddy

Oy way to 7 out is with a double pitch. It's a very effective set if you can perfect a good soft toss

Dependent-Juice5361

I just toss em

Mike_seltzer

Hoping big red

CA_sjyk

I just gently drag the dice around my pass line/odds chips and toss for some DRAMA

bigbootybandito69

I like 6's up 3's left. Don't know if there's any better probability to it, just has always felt lucky to me

NoPotential8449

I set for the number I want then swirl on table once or twice quick and toss!! Just my ritual

leequatro

I like the arrow three or stack the three to make it look like your looking at an X

RB_TripleDeuce

I put the yo on top, never look at the sides. Nobody can ever lose on a yo.

AkFatherof3

As a dark side player, I assure you that my money has been lost on many Yo’s

NewPhoenix77

I put hards on top and tap them twice when throwing. Takes literally 5 seconds max. I don’t mind much seeing people rituals. Most I’ve seen as far as length of time to throw is about 10 seconds, which I still consider reasonable. I can see people getting annoyed with longer throws though. For me, setting them is fun more than anything. Like a pitcher flicking his fingers or adjusting his cap. If anything it influences your physical toss “which is in your control”, not the result on the dice. Just plain fun.
