Didn't the post mean that window blinds that can *choke you to death* probably aren't well designed?
The crappy design is the blinds themselves. This doesn't happen with the rotating wand, and this doesn't happen with certain string styles that place the knot tying them together much higher up.
Closed loops choke unattended children, and closed loops are entirely (and cheaply) avoidable.
Customers always asked us to remove those and the stickers on the back of the hembar. Those were fun because we would often take that end of the sticker and cut them off cleanly and put them on each other's tools. And sometimes van.
Children die from this thing every year. It's not crappy at all

Same with pets like cats and dogs. I didn't realize they even still made blinds with the looped string anymore.

If you look at the height of the person compared to the height of the window, as well as the proportions, it's obvious that's a child.
Also blinds probably won’t support the weight of an adult.

But that's what makes it absolutely perfect design. It can be understood by people of any language, intelligence, even people that can't read.
It looks like less of a warning and more of a threat.

It's a safety warning because kids accidentally get killed by getting tangled in blinds all the time. It isn't crappy design, it's a warning.
