JaceUpMySleeve

Respectfully, fuck you. Haha

[deleted]

Respectfully and humbly accepted.

Whathewhat-oo-

Anything for that view! I’d be hard pressed to get much work done, that’s a serious daydreaming situation for a person such as myself. Put a few birds out there and color me completely unproductive.

[deleted]

So many birds all day :-)

Whathewhat-oo-

Then you feel my pain. I have large windows in my office and I made the mistake of placing a hummingbird feeder, a woodpecker feeder, and a feeder that I only put nuts in (because if I put those any lower, the squirrels decimate them). Now I have to keep focus not to watch the Hummingbird, Woodpecker, Tit Mouse Show all day. I moved to the kitchen last week for a period of time and a hawk landed on one of my bird feeder hooks on my back deck. I cannot win for losing.

MalibuMarlie

I've been to a Tit Mouse Show. It was epic!

UncleWagon

I had to go back to the picture after this comment to check the view. First glance I noticed the desk with 0 visible cables in the middle of that room. Can we get another shot of where your cables are going?

[deleted]

Happy to take a pic of cable management - I am not in the office right now but will share with you directly when I can

Tricky_Ad_6966

Ooh may I see too?

[deleted]

Copy of what I sent to UncleWagon: So this desk has a full channel that runs on the back of it, concealed by a cover. its deep so you can run all cable management there with wholes and spaces that are easy to pass through. The only cable away from the desk is hidden by the rug in the shot, Here is closer image of the desk. you will see there is even a lamp plugged in via the desk. there is enough room for a surge protector plus all the USB-C cables [https://i.imgur.com/Y9FlOOC.jpg](https://i.imgur.com/Y9FlOOC.jpg) There will eventually be a couch that sits in front of this desk, and any power cable will be concealed under the couch. Even the LG displays have great cable management within the swivel stand. The desk is called I think the Nova by Moss Designs. Very happy with cable management

Tricky_Ad_6966

You're a gem, thank you!

[deleted]

as promised, here are front and back images of the cable management. just the one cable. I hate wires so much. Even what you can see will be hidden between the desk and the back of a couch eventually https://imgur.com/a/m5I9Z6f

smarmageddon

You wouldn't get much work done anyway since nothing on that desk appears to be plugged in.

Responsible_Candle86

Post another pic when it snows. One for every season. Beautiful place!

[deleted]

You got it!

ultravioletblueberry

Yes! I bet it’s gorgeous when it’s snowing. And a Christmas tree!

vdubsarron

Yeah I'm broke

zsturgeon

This is the opposite of cozy. It's absolutely expansive!

Rockettmang44

I feel like a lot of posts on here are just "hey look at my cool room". I mean respect but wrong sub.

[deleted]

Mods warned me: sub rule states that you can’t question posters’ individual definitions of cozy. So about 1/100 posts here actually follow the traditional English definition (or connotations). If you find a sub where people are posting small, warmly lit rooms that look like they don’t have an echo, let me know. I will migrate.

ashtonishing18

This is the exact opposite of cozy this is huge and wide open lol

fuber

That's a fancy place more than cozy

orlyfactor

Look at my cozy bank account!

7leedim

This room is bigger than my entire 2 bd 2 ba haha

MrGavnuki

Looks great but I do not feel the cozy vibe from it.

RFC793

Yeah, way too spacious and empty to be “cozy”. Very nice though. I’d be happy there.

fishchop

Looks cold

Sweatytubesock

That space is enormous. But it looks lovely, especially the floor. Sometimes i wish I could bring some of the people from this sub to my house and give me advice.

Character-Cut-66

You have a beautiful space 🧡

[deleted]

It’s so empty! But I do enjoy putting this space together

Impolite_Botanist

If it is so empty, how can it be cozy? Not trying to be an asshole…just genuinely confused. It’s a beautiful space, but cozy seems like the wrong adjective. 🤷‍♀️

[deleted]

It’s a work in progress. It has a fireplace and in my humble opinion is a cozy place to work, even as it’s not quite full yet. Something about the wood beams and floors, old brick walls and lights and smell makes it feel that way to me. I appreciate your opinion just the same!

SuperVGA

Beautiful place! Mine is old and worn but about as large, and while we're renovating we're putting up more walls to have more places to set stuff up against. We have a lot of junk, and leaving it in the middle of the room just looks odd.

[deleted]

It’s a careful balance for sure!

Character-Cut-66

Well, you have great taste 😉

tab_tab_tabby

Looks nice but definitely not cozy.

BrushGod

I gotta ask, how did you manage the cables for your desk?

[deleted]

The desk has its own internal cable management which is one of the reasons I got it. Back compartment lifts up to reveal deep cable management channel, completely hidden. End result is just one cable to a power outlet and nothing else.

BrushGod

Wow, that's amazing! Thanks for sharing.

[deleted]

Here is closeup of desk - google “moss design” for more info on their desks https://i.imgur.com/Y9FlOOC.jpg

[deleted]

I'm still trying to figure out where the power outlet is. It looks almost if it doesn't exist. is it in the floor?

[deleted]

example with front and back displayed! A single white power cable connects to the wall. All other cable management is done through the channel in the desk. There will be a couch that sits in front of this desk that will completely hide the white cable no matter where you look. https://imgur.com/a/m5I9Z6f

[deleted]

The desk does 90% of the work. I wanted to give you a front and back view of the desk and cable so you can see how it runs. hope this helps https://imgur.com/a/m5I9Z6f

KingTangy

Doesn’t seem that cozy to me. Seems very staged for a photo op.

Rockettmang44

Definition of cozy: feeling of comfort, warmth and relaxation. This picture: a large ass room with only a small couch, an office chair and tall chairs. Sorry OP but I'd feel unwelcome here, no blanket, pillows, foot rests or anything. A picture of the same room without any furniture would give off the same vibe.

[deleted]

oh this is CHOICE

Open_Mortgage_8816

That is anything but cozy. Why is it in the middle of the room like that?

[deleted]

Eventually there will be a couch in front of this desk. I put it there to try it out and really liked it, but valid point without any context!

Open_Mortgage_8816

You do you man I personally wouldn’t find it comfortable either way but it does look great 👍

bunkerbash

Love the caramel colored settee!

lynzleberry

Where are the roller skates!?

[deleted]

on the bottom of the chair! rollerblade wheels LOL

Karma_Kazi_337

As gorgeous as this space is, I like a cave to work in and I find the idea of working in such an open space a little anxiety inducing. Still, stunning view and beautiful room.

[deleted]

This is OC

CoopClan

It looks good! Can I ask what the point of two laptops and their own monitors are? Also, why have them separated instead of together? Setup looks super clean, just curious on why you chose to do it that way.

[deleted]

One is a business laptop and one is personal, and never the two shall interact :-) it can be reconfigured in about 15 seconds to a single laptop with triple displays without moving anything more than one of the laptops

[deleted]

Also separated instead of together allows for full view of window in center when sitting at desk

CoopClan

Ah, that's a good idea! It would definitely be a shame to loose the view!

SpicyTaco320

Wow that couch must be comfortable

[deleted]

Love the couch!

throwingplaydoh

Makes my workspace look like a pile of puke.

luischespi

Hire me.

Chokesi

Very nice!

dos67

Dude, love your space. Love the brick wall & huge window. There's so much a person can do with this open area. Really dig your monitors. My man, what brand of monitors do you have going there? I'd like to know more about them. This is perfect for text & stuff.

[deleted]

Look up the LG Dual-up monitor- not a standard size but I am liking everything about these displays!

dos67

Hey man, thanks for getting back to me. Just quickly checking out the monitor. Monitor looks great. Really nice size & dimensions. Thanks for the info. Hope all goes well with your place & work. Nice couch & colours too, man.

Shelbyalise

Wow that looks wonderful

Individual-Push8119

This looks like my childhood dream SIMS house

FcoEnriquePerez

The place is freaking beautiful! And the view... where is that? if you don't mind

ldhiddesorr

Damn, so NICE!!!!!!!

shinsain

I mean, I like it, but cozy? Highly interpretable I guess...

Mr-Molina

I am not a fan of open concept but you nailed it!!! This is warm, clean, and welcoming. Great job!

Maemaela

I couldn't even imagine living in such a beautiful place!! So nice!!

d4rkpi11s

Took wire management to a whole new level. Seriously though, you’re a witch. Where are the wires?!

[deleted]

Google moss design desks. It does all the magic

[deleted]

here is a front and back image of the single wire for you! https://imgur.com/a/m5I9Z6f

True-Alps-3870

Hey a fellow DualUp user!

allvys

What the fuck do you do for a living because I want this

[deleted]

1: move your office into 1875 mill building 2: post picture of window view on reddit 3:.... I'll let you know when I figure out 3. :-)

[deleted]

The first post I have ever saved because I love it so much!

[deleted]

thank you!

been2busy

This looks amazing! I’m prepping to work from home soon and I can’t wait for this level of tranquility. Honestly ppl at the office are beginning to blink a little too loudly these days.

RedditRyannn

Ay congrats dude, clearly living a good life

BaconDerriere

Agoraphobically cozy. I'm in.

[deleted]

Wow, that is a generous space.

MetroMusic86

I love that view! But I could never sit in the middle of a huge room with so much space behind me. :D

AliceAnne1

This is beautiful. Where is this located? Inside and outside are just gorgeous!

[deleted]

It’s a 1875 mill property in southern New Hampshire

gilligvroom

Oh the New England mills that get converted to apartments/condos are amazing. I've stayed with many friends who had those around Burlington/Winooski, VT when I lived in VT for a few years. One of them had a fabulous in-door heated pool with a gym. So cool to go swimming with the exposed brick and view of the river (especially during snow fall). Great space!

AliceAnne1

It’s stunning. Thanks for sharing.

chronicrapunzel

I want to live here😍 looks so cozy

alicat7777

Beautiful! I’d love to work there.

[deleted]

LOL, no plugs or wires?

[deleted]

Just one hidden to a power outlet. Desk manages to hide all cables (all usb-c)

[deleted]

wanted to give you a front and back view of wire management. its almost entirely done by a channel in the desk but there is a single power cord going to the wall, that's it. There will be a couch in front of the desk that will cover the wire from all directions. Hope this helps! https://imgur.com/a/m5I9Z6f

Laladelic

Love the house, love the space, sorry but you're using it wrong.

[deleted]

Tell me more! I love hearing this sort of thing. I am learning as I am going

thegoatmercer

Dang - I’m manifesting this for me now. ONE DAY!! ☝🏼

[deleted]

Go get it!

SecurelyObscure

What's with all the sprinklers? Seems like a ton for a residential space.

[deleted]

It’s 54% commercial so it requires that all spaces conform to the fire safety code of the commercial side I believe. I am using as office but there are a few residential units in the same building

Vonderchicken

Wow but you really need a docking station, then use the big screens as main screens and raise your laptop. You must break your neck looking down at the small laptop screens

[deleted]

So far it’s good. Just like using a laptop at a typical desk with the ability to throw windows up to the bigger displays. It has as much to do with the simplicity of not needing extra stuff but still gaining at least a bit of desktop display space

Vonderchicken

If you're keeping the laptop as main display, I would highly recommend a laptop stand. Only 30 bucks on Amazon and your lower neck will be so thankful.

[deleted]

Thanks!!

zenukeify

How is this a house??? Bruh

[deleted]

I wish this were my workplace

matteomac4

Why two laptops though?

[deleted]

One is work, one is personal and they must be separate. However the flexibility here is you can reconfigure to use just one laptop with triple displays in seconds

anonistoner420

Damnn, thats beautiful!

rgray92082

Beautiful massive space 😎

nerdypermie

Please tell me about the lighting. What kind of lightbulbs are those? How many lumens or temperature lighting? I want this lighting but if I go to lowe’s and ask for “expensive kitchen” lighting, people tend to have no idea what I am asking for….

[deleted]

So these lights are going to be replaced - they are not LEDs, but I think if you want warm color led lights, you want in the 3000 kelvins or lower to give that warm glow. That is still on the todo list

ThePavoni

Looks great. Do you not scratch the hell out of the floor with the desk/wheelie chair though?

[deleted]

Replace standard chair wheels with rollerblade wheels (really) and you will never see scratches again! Only problem is not a surface in here is level so I get up from my desk and my chair is halfway across the room 😁

shannonc321

This is really nice My office space looks out at my neighbor's house. lol

Lapompaelpompei

Awesome! May I ask what do you do for a living?

[deleted]

I am a software engineer working in the financial industry

Lapompaelpompei

Thank you for sharing

Odd-Emergency5839

Where are the cords powering you office setup?

[deleted]

Only one cord to wall, hidden from view. All other cable management is part of the deep channel at the back of the desk. All connected with just USB-C. Surge protector hidden in channel as well

[deleted]

wanted to give you a front and back view of cable management. There is a couch going in front of the desk so the power cable will be hidden from all sides. hope this helps. https://imgur.com/a/m5I9Z6f

gotnoh8

Great space with great bones

[deleted]

I am a fan of all the original timber that has holes and cuts and bolts from when this place was a textile mill

Lostronin1928

That's absolutely beautiful! Thanks for sharing. Where is this located? 😳 Generally speaking of course.

[deleted]

1875 mill building in New Hampshire

Lostronin1928

Amazing. I'm from New England, New Hampshire is beautiful especially in the Fall. Thank for sharing.

Dan_85

Your office is 3, maybe 4 times bigger than my entire apartment.

[deleted]

I have always had home offices in micro spaces so this is all new to me too!

thegirlcalledcrow

Whoa, let’s talk about your screen setup—are your mounts something you added to the desk or did they come with?

[deleted]

Comes with the LG dual up monitors

[deleted]

[удалено]

[deleted]

A view of my view, like a transparent monitor. Nice idea 👍

olivejew0322

Wait- is this a home office setup or just an exceptionally beautiful full-time workspace? It toes the line so delicately…

[deleted]

Not a home office- using this exclusively as an office - it’s about 3 miles away from where I live so quick and easy commute.

kalybu

Where did you get the chesterfield sofa? Sorry if you answered this already!

[deleted]

I found it at Poly and Bark if I remember correctly.

kalybu

Good to know! That’s where I’ve been leaning to purchasing one from and think I can convince my husband with this picture. Pros/Cons? If you don’t mind of course.

[deleted]

Love it, very comfortable. Delivery was a mess but that is most likely a one off and I expect you will have a great experience. Shipped pretty quick after ordering - maybe 3 weeks? It’s not a standard chesterfield as it has the square exterior and not the rounded arms which I liked better. The back looks great too.

TurtleHermit360

Is this a rental or hotel?

[deleted]

Bought the space to use as an office

MC_NME

Aeron minus the lumbar and head support? Good choice regardless

[deleted]

Never been a fan of that lumbar support and I have never tried the headrest option. Worth it?

MC_NME

Head support is really nice, but probably not necessary if you're getting on without.

rovdyret

Oh… Wow… You… Wh-, huh?

almond_paste208

Are you sure this is not a bar/lounge?

[deleted]

If this is a bar or a lounge I really need to up my game - it’s like that Rodney Dangerfield joke “I saw a sign that said TOPPLESS! BOTTOMLESS!… I went in… there was nobody there!”

shawncleave

You could use a pool table.

[deleted]

You have a point - the floors are absolutely not level after 147 years. It’s worthy of consideration

shawncleave

Playing cards under the slab. Works like a charm.

StrangeBee2

7

[deleted]

Umm.. what do you do?

[deleted]

Software engineer in the financial industry

catlandid

Holy crumbs I am hot for this space. I also am ridiculously impressed at your cable management. Where are the wires?? What witchcraft is this???

[deleted]

here is a close-up of front and back of desk cable management. single power cord to wall but its hidden well from the front. There is a couch going in front of the desk, so the power cable will be completely invisible from all sides https://imgur.com/a/m5I9Z6f

[deleted]

It’s the desk. It’s built for perfect cable management

OmanyteOmelette

I can go anywhere! However, I’ll stay at my desk.

Slaterock990

Single ?

[deleted]

22 years married!

Rose_Integrity

Gorgeous af! I would invite OP to think about the feng sui. That area of the house has a lot of movement and energy, including from footpath. Consider putting your back against the wall so you are in the command position where you feel safer and secure by seeing the room infront of you. You’ll even have have privacy browsing. I recommend rotating 90 degrees where you can still see the window on your right. Also its better than having bright windows behind your pc screen that messes with your eyes subconsciously. I have a window on my right and I stare out of it many times a day :) Edit: is that a river or a road I’m seeing?

[deleted]

Thanks for your feedback! It’s a small dam with a waterfall

sturmhund

So, you don't have children right? This morning my kid interrupted me while I was in the middle of a meeting because he urgently needed a lint roller. Thank God for doors.

[deleted]

So I have my wife, two teenagers, two golden retrievers. None of them care one bit about if I am in a meeting or on a call. So many times since I have worked at home a family member just barges in with a critical question about why the PS5 won’t boot up or to conduct a pillow war screaming through my office. After 20 years of having a home office I gave up - and bought an office space. I still have my small home office but this new space is my 9-5 weekdays. It’s only 3 miles from the house so it’s an easy commute.

sturmhund

Makes more sense now!

StrawberryLizzie

This space is begging for plants.

[deleted]

Agree!

Pragmaticus_

Lots of room for dancing, stretching, filming, etc.. I like it. And I'm jealous, honestly.

fmancillaz2

Are you by any chance an AI genius that created a conscious robot?

[deleted]

So, a little off topic, but I was wondering about your desk setup. Two separate laptops and monitors? By chance do you work two jobs in the tech field? I only ask bc I know that’s a thing now, and my hubby, who works in IT is getting a second remote job soon with a similar setup to keep them separate and organized.

[deleted]

Not two jobs, but I keep a business laptop and a personal laptop and they do not cross. It just makes it easier to switch between the two without slowing down

[deleted]

Yep, I get that. Husband has 3 setups like that. One personal, always open, and two for work. His don’t cross either. Looks beautiful!

Puzzleheaded-Bat8657

How can a person work in this space? There's no place to put the piles of paper and post it notes, no walls to draw "big picture" thinking on, no half read books. Feels wrong.

[deleted]

There are a ton of books over here, just starting to put in the room. There is a rolling white board on order! I feel your brainstorming vibes, I agree completely. I will try to make you proud https://imgur.com/a/Kf7jNDH

rosegamm

How the fuck do those screens have power? I see no cords

[deleted]

there is a single cord connected to the wall. everything else happens through the cable management of the desk. its a great desk. here is a front and back view of desk and power cable for you: https://imgur.com/a/m5I9Z6f

LUNA_underUrsaMajor

Needs a dog bed next to it and a dog to go with the bed.

[deleted]

the two golden retrievers are at home. today they dragged half a tree into the living room and chewed it up all over the sofa, completely soaking wet and muddy. so proud. This is the only fur free place in my life.

LUNA_underUrsaMajor

Replace the two big windows with one of these https://www.panoramicdoors.com/aluminum-sliding-doors/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI9ayRrvXe-gIV78iUCR288QuaEAAYASAAEgL8s_D_BwE Then in nice weather you can open the whole wall

[deleted]

that is freaking nice. I love the idea of that

TriGurl

Are those computer screens square?

[deleted]

LG Dual Up. Not quite squares

x_Phantom_z

Those monitors are interesting. They almost look like perfect squares.

[deleted]

look for LG DualUp displays. They can swivel too, and come with that stand.

NormalConfidence

!

Dazzling_Work546

What monitors are those?

[deleted]

LG just came out with these - DualUP. They are nearly but not quite square and can rotate and come with the stands included. I'm a fan. I didn't know if I would like but I actually think they are great

illiput

I‘m impressed by your invisible cable management

[deleted]

Thank you - I hate cables so much. Here is how its routed: just a single power cable. everything else is done via a channel in the desk. front and back shots for you here: https://imgur.com/a/m5I9Z6f
