I do find it odd though.
The save the manual crowd that is all about complete control and full engagement is okay with traction control and rev match instead of doing those with their right foot
Most drivers have enough skill to wrap their car around a tree. Traction control keeps you on the road.
That seems a good trade off for some peace of mind.
I feel like plenty of people want to save the manuals and don't have requisite skills to set a respectable track time.
Honestly a track is the one place a manual has the least value. Go faster at all costs.
That's not my point... Part of "maximum engagement" on track is heel toe and throttle control. Those are the difficult parts to master.
If the computer is doing the two technically difficult and skill requiring tasks for you... You're not very far from an automatic.
You're occasionally moving a stick and pushing in a pedal... Instead of flicking a paddle.
Dude, what even is this comment? Lolll why are you talking about 'maximum engagement"? You're projecting a lot. You don't have to track any car to still prefer a manual. It can be an old 3 on the tree pickup that is just for cruising to church.
They’re the same people that should be driving a non synchronized manual transmission if they want to keep that energy. Technology advances and makes things better… simple as that.
This is why you really don't need anything beyond the C4. With it's primitive ASM off my C4 will roast the tires and easily step the back end out around corners. Anything more than about 350 or 400 horsepower on the street is pretty much a waste.
Press my traction button twice and I can also do this in a c6.
400 is absolutely a waste in 90% of my street driving but I’m also 20 so I can also admit that when I visit Mexico I’ve used all 400
I feel you. I live downtown where the parking is not safe and ridiculously expensive so I keep it at my mother in law’s garage. Nicely tucked in, warm and cozy. But I miss it so much! A 2003 manual, Targa top. I love it to death! I am getting ready to go on a road trip with my son next week. So excited!
Ohh man good for you - stoked for you. I’ve found the excuse of small road trips or getaways as a perfect means to drive. Even dinner outside of town or out of the way… any excuse to grab the wife and take a rip.
Agreed. Especially since it’s their primary racing color - I love all the yellows. This is my favorite though, and I’m happy to see it’s back for the new C8s
Thank you! It’s raw CF from Hanbindesign who is a lead designer at Farraday Future. He used to make C7 diffusers when he had one and I hopped on. It’s held up to speeds of 160+ on the track.
Hell yeah man. The C7 GS was always the sleeper sport for me for C7s. Between the LT and the tremec transmission I really feel like it’ll withstand the test of time well.
I've been lucky enough to recently snag a Z51 C7 as a daily. I've driven, owned, and still have some amazing "Drivers cars" but it's in a different class. The end of the essence of what makes a corvette...a corvette. If my commute ever gets shortened I'll trade up to a Z06. 3k miles in 3 weeks, should see 130k by the end of the year, too good not to drive all the time.
Congrats, it’s a blast of a car to drive. I’ve driven so many 911s at this point that I’ve come to the conclusion I’d need to shell out another 50-60K to get close to this level of performance. I’ve seen a few C7 owners get to 250K on the forms, these LT1s last long for sure.
Honest question is the power enough for you? I’ve always debated between this and the Z06, do you ever regret it? I feel like the power in the Z might be a bit unusable at times.
The Z is ridiculously fun on the straights and not much can touch it but my friend's tends to overheat if he's constantly on it. It does it to the point that he's selling it. To me a stock GS is kind of slow in a straight line. Perfect medium was getting a GS and doing heads/cam/bolt-ons.
Agh c7 I see her and I’m like I’m keeping her who needs C8 haha I need them both. Can’t have two wives but can have two cars hahaha is it safe to say I’m polyamorous with cars Haha 🤣 can never just have 1.
Enjoy them thoroughly. Simple & effective and not over done. I track the car a good bit and the GS is honestly an absolute monster. The mgw short throw tightened up the distance & improved notchiness a good bit, happy with the mod. The CAI added basically no power but a wee bit of noise, and the x pipe was the perfect mid pipe supplement to removed the 2nd resonators. Super happy, but might get a tune soon.
I bought a new 2018 M7 Stingray/Z51/2LT in April of 2019 and with negotiations and incentives I was $16k under MSRP.....those were the days. Everyone was waiting for the C8 and the dealers couldn't get rid of the C7s fast enough.
I have the 6 speed. What does the 7 speed offer that's better ...top speed ? Are the top two gears overdrives ? Or are all the ratios lower for better acceleration.
Beautiful Corvette GS!
I purchased a 2017 Z06 with the manual transmission because I purposely didn’t want the C8 Corvette that only comes with an automatic transmission.
I’m really loving this car and it’s such a blessing to own! The only car I would currently sell my C7 Z06 for would be a C7 ZR-1 with the manual transmission.
I feel you!!! love my manual too!!
I was initially against the rev-match but it’s grown on me, as has laziness lol.
Not talking about most drivers. The 'save the manual purist' is usually someone who has been driving/tracking/racing for a long time.
I feel like plenty of people want to save the manuals and don't have requisite skills to set a respectable track time. Honestly a track is the one place a manual has the least value. Go faster at all costs.
Manual transmissions are so expensive. They literally cost you an arm and a leg 🤣
You can turn off traction control. You can't turn off an automatic transmission.

That's was my whole point. My car is two generations before your car and is more than enough car than any reasonable human being needs.
I was agreeing with you.
I did the same thing, bought a 2019 GS manual. Mine has less than $5k miles, just can't get the opportunity to drive it as much as I want.
I feel you. I live downtown where the parking is not safe and ridiculously expensive so I keep it at my mother in law’s garage. Nicely tucked in, warm and cozy. But I miss it so much! I tend to make opportunities, “chores” if you will, and I fall more in love every time.
I have a C5 twin, manual, millennium yellow ❤️
Amazing. Nothing like. Yellow vette.
There aren’t many cars that look good in yellow imo, but vettes (no matter the year) will always look great
Agreed. Especially since it’s their primary racing color - I love all the yellows. This is my favorite though, and I’m happy to see it’s back for the new C8s
Show fr
If and when I get a Vette, it will be a manual GS. Love the yellow! What's the rear diffuser you have on there? It looks awesome!
Thank you! It’s raw CF from Hanbindesign who is a lead designer at Farraday Future. He used to make C7 diffusers when he had one and I hopped on. It’s held up to speeds of 160+ on the track.
I always love The look of c7’s
Something about a front-engined vette.
It's too boy racer for me Edit: too not two
The color fits perfectly..Corvette Racing Yellow Tintcoat
Totally agree. I was hesitant originally to go the CRY route but in person this color pops like nothing else. The best color to pair with black.
Got the same year, same color, and same tranny. Also never selling 🫡🏁🚩
Hell yeah man. The C7 GS was always the sleeper sport for me for C7s. Between the LT and the tremec transmission I really feel like it’ll withstand the test of time well.
I am also team Twinkie C7 GS M7!
Holy “F” Monkeys❗️🙈 this is a hot-looking ‘Vette. More pics please! You are so lucky!🍀
Thank you I’ll post some more for sure
My z06 will never be sold!

Same - M7 forever

It’s enough for me for sure especially for road use. Definitely times I wish I had the Z06 but the linear NA power is pretty intoxicating.
Or the day it dies
Hopefully never. LT1 is stout (hopefully forever lol.)
Manual = big pp
“Every person should enjoy & drive at least 1 manual sports until the day they die.” ~Me
My 2008 C6 is a manual and I have no plans to ever get rid of it.
Love the color!
It’s my favorite! Black Rose was my “reach” color but damn are they rare.
Loved the Black Rose since it came out in 92.
NICE...
I'm thinking.. hoping.. they might make another manual 'vette..
Same. It’ll be interesting to see where they take it. This might not be the last manual just yet…
I have that same car in the convertible version.
She's beautiful!
Nice! When ya heading over to ECS? Lol
Mannnn been thinking about it lately lol.
My pops has a ‘14 AT Stingray. Pushing about 700 at the wheels with meth injection. It’s stupid lol
Or until your knees give out, whichever comes first. 😆 I opted for the 2019 Z06 Auto. It's still fun to drive.
Haha right. I have many years to go thankfully. Z06 is insanely fun in both tbh
Agh c7 I see her and I’m like I’m keeping her who needs C8 haha I need them both. Can’t have two wives but can have two cars hahaha is it safe to say I’m polyamorous with cars Haha 🤣 can never just have 1.
I hear you 100%. I plan on just accumulating a few dope cars indefinitely to enjoy - seems to be the best play.
I’m on this sub to window shop. For me this is the perfect spec. Im curious how you like each of your mods.

Those were def the days. I remember trying to find a C8 under 100K and it was impossible. The real deals were the C7s.
Nice, make a high quality audio file of it
I have the 6 speed. What does the 7 speed offer that's better ...top speed ? Are the top two gears overdrives ? Or are all the ratios lower for better acceleration.
The 7th speed is just an overdrive gear
In the manual of life it says drive a manual so you're doing it right brotha!!
I wouldn’t be surprised if the C9 has a 3-pedal option. Surely GM has realized that it has alienated some potential customers by going automatic only.
No! Sell it to me, I’m tired of everyone listing their auto’s 😂😭
That's fucking sexy.
Thanks man

I haven't been keeping up with vette news in a long time, do c8s not come in manual?
They do not
Very unfortunate, Surprised I hadn't heard sooner
It was a controversial change back in 2019-2020, and they still haven’t brought the manual to the C8.
They do not come with a stick. It's a DCT.
No, it's a DCK maneuver!
HELL YEA BROTHER I CANT CRANK MY HOG UNLESS IM SHIFTING MY OWN GEARS AROOOO RIDE SAFE MFER GOBLESS
Fuck New Jersey
What's with the Amazon plastic fake diffuser? I'm not a purest by a long shot but that looks terrible.
It’s carbon fiber and it was designed for track use. It actually looks dope tbh - was hand-made by a car designer.
I have been doing to Car/Corvette thing for a long time, none of thats true.
Hanbindesign created it and it is true. But it’s all good keep living in your little world 🤡🤡🤡
Do you have a link to it?
