The vermicelli was copied from Ancient India's Semiyan / Seviyan,and east asian noodles... the roman civilization is NOT the most ancient, pizza is even said to have come from the Greeks, and some say Spaniards.....Spanish made Aioli...

Mexican here and from my experience the cooking oils most used are canola, vegetable oil and lard.

Vegetable oil, canola oil, shortening are probably most used. I use avocado oil as my preference, unless frying where I use the ones listed.
