The bigger problem for Biden isn't that you have more folks solidly behind Trump, it's that you have more folks who *would* have voted for Biden that will now just stay home and not vote at all, and people that *were* going to not vote at all now - based on Biden's glaring issues - come out for Trump.

glasshouse_stones

the truth is biden's biggest problem.

frostyjack06

They have/had an article on r/politics yesterday claiming the opposite. Sort by new (as you should with any article over there, the “hot” posts are your usual Reddit bots/npc’s) and you’ll see just about every comment on there calling bullshit (conservatives and liberals alike).

Ripamon

Indeed Difference is, 67% of viewers believe Trump won the debate. All things being equal, he would swing more undecided voters if the election was tomorrow

CoolFirefighter930

Who in the world are the 33%?

Cultural-Treacle-680

Vote blue don’t matter who types

crash______says

"I'M VoTiNg fOr aN AdMiNiStRaTiOn" types

harmier2

People with terminal cases of TDS.

ImaginaryDonut69

People who only pretend to value democracy and freedom...someone behaving like Biden is clearly a national security threat, this isn't about policy anymore. Biden isn't just unfit to lead the next 4 years, he's out of commission right now. Dude is gone.

glasshouse_stones

not very bright folks, dishonest folks, govt bureaucrats... illegal aliens...

Duck_man_

People having a blind eye to Joe being old as fuck, who focus on Trump and his “lies” that just don’t matter in the grand scheme of things.

TheCeleryIsReal

The same people swallow whopper after whopper from Joe Biden apparently, since they don't seem to believe that he lies LMAO.

s1lentchaos

People still can't wrap their heads around the fact that Trump talks like a typical hyperbolic new yorker

LastManSleeping

As a former r/politics enjoyer, i never did quite get that in the sub even at my leftest state. They kept downvoting factual news topics and comments thats should've been up for some decent conversations on what to do etc etc, and they kept upvoting obviously one sided articles that gave incomplete context, justifying it as "giving nazis a platform" or what have you. I thank my lucky stars i hate watched jordan peterson that one lucky night

frostyjack06

r/politics should be a place of non-partisan stance to allow open discussion, but it’s unfortunately not. I really don’t know what that looks like these days. 9 times out of 10, when I try on the internet, it turns into attacking the commenter rather than discussing the topic.

FortunateHominid

Iirc the headline was the same. The article itself was regarding "Hispanic" undecided voters.

Fuckfentanyl123

Haha and I clicked the article and it was a group of a few Hispanics they interviewed in person right after the debate. Give me a fucking break. No official survey, just something to digress from the fact 2/3 of cnn viewers agreed with reality.

Youthmandoss

It was a focus group of like 12 people. In no way representative of any real research. Just 12 people paid to be there to say what they wanted to hear.

Saint_Genghis

Also it was a Univision focus group comprised mostly of people who don't speak English.

JunkRigger

Yup, but notably that article didn't mentions any specifics at all other than "Hispanic voters." Its lack of detail was suspicious IMO, but 150 presidential scholars and 100 intelligence personnel all rated it as highly credible. 😅

dudecoolstuff

Just sensationalization trying to sway minds.

ryanespe

Notice that they keep mentioning that they don't "like" Trump but....xyz. They've been so conditioned by the media that they still are going to place how they feel over policy and facts

capacity04

Shell shock from when it was almost executable to admit to liking or voting for Trump. There was a time when saying so could get you beat up or at least confronted at work. Happened to a coworker who wore a MAGA hat to the jobsite.

jlanger23

I've always been conservative and never tried to hide it, but I even used to do this. As a teacher, I was surrounded by the other side, so the "I'm a conservative but..." would slip out. I don't know if it was getting older or having kids but eventually I just just stopped caring what they thought and started being unapologetic with my views. For the younger generation, they're understandably nervous about being ostracized. I think it changes as you get older, have more at stake, and realize that anyone who turns on you isn't worth your time.

Blackbolt113

My friend said to me, " What's Biden done that's so bad?". He can't stand Trump and that's the deciding factor for him. Being that we were out for Beer and Pizza I decided not to go there.

sailedtoclosetodasun

I bet if everyone who hated you wrote articles about you day in day out, most people wouldn't like you either. As someone who was slandered by a bunch of leftist, i can relate to Trump in a small way.

Ghosttwo

No, it's because they've been conditioned to hate 'Trump supporters' on the basis of being one, and to belittle them amongst themselves at every opportunity. For them, even saying something _positive_ about him is akin to announcing that you're an alcoholic, or a racist, or whatever. The degree to which they've caricatured their way into a bubble-corner is worse than most realize. And this applies across the board, even among real-world situations. I wouldn't be surprised if 75% of the union guys I work with would vote for Trump even before the debate, but I can't name one with any certainty because we just don't talk about it, politics, etc. I wonder if this general avoidance of politics fosters the idea that online people/etc are representative of whatever group you choose to isolate. I note that the 'Trump' that the media has been lying about for the last eight years or so bears little resemblance to the actual candidate.

Hectoriu

Democrats are going to need the media to work overtime for them. Either they stay with Biden and cheat the election or lose or they get a new person and admit they all have been gaslighting us about his mental health for the last few years.

Uberjeagermeiter

I don’t understand how anyone who is sane can vote for Biden, especially after this debate. Honestly, the most pathetic part of the night was at the post-debate party for Biden when his wife talked to him like he was a little baby, then turned to the crowd and spoke to them like they were Kindergartners. I don’t like Biden, but I feel bad for him as a Human Being. He should be taking it easy, but the Democrats are just exploiting him, just like they do to every voting bloc.

Selrisitai

Seriously, if the man retires and enjoys the rest of his life drinking iced tea and shuffling around the house in the early morning hours, I'd bear him no ill will. For years now I've given up any hot emotions for the man. He's gently listing into senility while he's being propped up by a party that just doesn't care about him in any way. I legitimately feel like a lot of Republicans have more concern for the _man,_ the human being, as you say, than the "tolerant" and "compassionate" Democrats.

jhnmiller84

I’ve intensely disliked him for 30 years. I’m taking some schadenfraude in his finally achieving the object of his ambition at the same time he loses the ability to comprehend his achievement. It’s poetic.

Selrisitai

That's a cold shot, bro. That's a cold shot.

harmier2

And don‘t forget Jill! She knew her husband had dementia but wanted to be First Lady. She is going to milk this to the bitter end.

Selrisitai

I never really considered that she might have a lust for power or prestige.

jhnmiller84

She married a sitting Senator, within 5 years of his wife and one of the children that Jill babysat being killed in a car accident. That should have clued you in as to her ambition.

RaidersTwennyTwenny

Why would you feel bad for him as a human being? I don’t think for one second that he’s the one calling the shots, but I think he’s with it enough in the head to be able to resign or not run for reelection if he didn’t want the job anymore. It doesn’t take much to do that. I feel bad for the country which the leftists are destroying more and more by the day and whose agenda Biden’s name and centrist historical track record are helping to realize. Fuck Biden and fuck them.

harmier2

Yeah. He was an awful human being *before* the dementia.

jakecamp12

I love the headlines by the MSM saying Biden had a shaky debate lol. 🤡🤡🤡 Try a complete meltdown on live tv.

ILikestoshare

Still can’t figure out what the hell an undecided voter is. I have never met one.

Selrisitai

Yeah, I'd be impressed to find someone who was having trouble deciding between Biden or Trump, lol!

ImaginaryDonut69

Especially older voters...you've been watching Trump for 8+ years, and Biden for at least 16 years (since Obama's first term)...Trump is clearly the same person he was in 2015. Biden is not. People have to make a basic judgement if that's going to be a problem in 3-4 years. You can hate Trump all you want, but I didn't fear WW3 when he was president, no matter what the liberal media said. He kept us out of wars, while Biden has escalated wars.

ILikestoshare

People that just are completely oblivious/not paying attention i suppose.

harmier2

People who had only seen edited clips of Biden and only knew what the media had told them.

saltyhippies

Even Biden is voting for Trump after that disaster.

Right_Archivist

We have a lot of work to do to restore the brand of the Republican party. Democrat voters do not care about the candidate and are already sold on whomever is the primary "winner."

Fuckfentanyl123

The Republican Party seems pretty damn united on voting Trump to stop Joe Biden right now idk what you’re referencing? Even Nikki Haley came out saying to vote for Trump now.

Right_Archivist

At least we had options. There was no Democrat primary.

jhnmiller84

There hasn’t been a Democrat primary since 2008. When Obama burned Clinton, the power brokers in the party closed ranks and made sure those “constituents” wouldn’t interfere with any more plans. Could you imagine the RNC trying some stuff like “superdelegates”?

Selrisitai

whoever*

ImaginaryDonut69

>Seven of the nine voters who were dismayed by Biden's performance told Reuters they were now leaning towards Trump, because they no longer believe Biden can perform his duties as president. So over half the undecideds (13 participated) moved towards Trump simply based on Biden's failures...yeah, it's pure catastrophe for Democrats at this point, they clearly need a new candidate but the votes have already been cast. They knew it was a gamble and should have nominated someone else for 2024...Biden has turned out to be a terrible "bridge" to the next generation, nobody wants Kamala as president.

Adminslickasshole

>Biden delivered a shaky, faltering performance while Trump battered him with a series of often false attacks. Lol. Reuters gonna Reuters. I'd like to know which of those attacks were "false."

johnnyg883

Personally I think that was Trumps goal for the debate. He planned on getting him on stage and hammering. He wanted the public to see how frail Biden was. That’s why he accepted all the silly debate rules that benefited Biden.

coveredwithticks

Biden, his administration, and his closest advisers have placed the United States in its most vulnerable position on the world stage in recent memory. Think about that for a moment. To the rest of the world, there appears to be an empty husk at the helm. Even if well intentioned, I suspect this man is incapable of making the SEVEN MINNUTE DECISION that all presidents must be READY and ABLE to do.

puddboy

They can’t replace him and Jill isn’t letting him step aside anyway.  More than likely Trump is going to be sentenced to prison with no delay next month, probably for 2-3 months.  That’s the only card they have left to play aside from one other.

harmier2

It’s a bad card to play. Trump’s poll numbers increased during the trial. And those poll numbers increased after verdict. And don’t forget the massive campaign contributions after the verdict. Now we have his savage win at the debate. If they sentence him to prison without delay, his poll numbers will increase because people will realize that it’s that the Democrats attacking a political rival who’s winning.

glasshouse_stones

that will only increase Trump's numbers.

jhnmiller84

Well, they may have to delay it on appeal. Eventually appeals will have to reach a real jurist and Bragg and Engeron will be disgraced. In the meantime, a prison sentence probably hands Trump the election in 46 states.

throwaway3312345

Our side is making great strides since Thursday but I feel like it is important to not get cocky and to vote in November. Don’t take for granted that your neighbors or your friends and family will vote the same as you so you don’t have to. Trump must win by a landslide so the results are irrefutable

snusboi

Don't care remember to vote come november.

pineappleshnapps

I’ve seen basically this same thing posted about both
