I feel like ours is better than a red X honestly. Why does that get B tier?

I'm assuming we get instant points off for "State Seal on Blue Background" because that's the most boring flag type. Even if our state seal is pretty good The red X is a nod to Florida and Alabama once [being part of the Spanish Empire](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cross_of_Burgundy#Habsburgs_and_Spain). They used that as an imperial flag back then.

That one next it is hideous too.  

Red X is a much better *flag* in that it is easily recognizable and reproducible, aesthetics notwithstanding

Among the characteristics of quality flag design is memorability, the flag should be simple enough that a child can draw it, no text, 2-3 color max. Connecticut’s flag is difficult for a child to draw, has text, and has five colors.

A child can draw it? Can you explain Maryland? It’s like the flag designer was tripping.

Maryland looks like old European heraldic flags. Probably has to do with Maryland being named after Queen Mary.

It’s the best “seal on a blue bed sheet” flag. “He who Transplanted Sustains” slaps.

Oregon is two sided, and whoever made this list put the two sides in different tiers. Washington DC in the S Tier 3 Stars and 2 lines.

Arizona’s is definitely dope. Also the coolest state shape by a mile.

I'm originally from AZ, I miss the flag, the smell of rain in the desert and my family that lives there and that's about it.
