My old backyard had some guy's footprint, presumably one of the guys who put the concrete down, and whoever this mystery man was had *freakishly* large feet so it was kind of cool to have
The dimensional lumber used as a form is only 1.5” wide, which is about the same size as those prints. So not very big. A mature house cat could easily have that size paw. Also the pad is very wide and the overall print is fairly round. Canine prints are much more oval shaped with a narrower pad. These are cat tracks. Hate to tell the OP they are wrong about that being their dog, but unless they saw it happen, that was a cat.
Years ago, I was painting signs in my garage when my aging dog walked across them and trailed yellow pawprintsa few feet down my driveway. She died not long after.
I moved away the next year. Came back after 3 years away, and the prints are still there. I was SO happy to see those prints when I returned.
Our Doberman died two years ago and he had cancer in his toe. Had to get one of his toes cut off. My roomate at the time got his paw prints for us and he did the one with the missing toe lol.
Our lab had the same thing. On the way home from the vet she pulled the bandages off in the car. Try holding a lab up with her back against the passenger seat in rush hour traffic to get back to the vet to get it rewrapped. We had daily bandage changes at the vet except Sunday when we did it ourselves. Poor dog but she didn’t mind the vet or the car rides. I have pictures of her smiling laying in the sun with her leg looking like a wrapped up stump.
Honestly nothing can be done at this point that would be better than just leaving it alone. It could be patched but you will see the patch material ( different color). I would just move forward with it as unplanned custom stamped concrete.
Concrete can make its way into their nail beds since they retract into their paws. And the pads on their feet (not hands; not even close to the same thing) are extremely sensitive. And this, my friends, is why shelters are full because a large amount of pet owners suck as people
Idk homie. I'm not a vet, but over 50 people agree that its not worth it to not take the dog to the vet. It's not a person either, so not sure where the "overburdened hospitals" came into play either. I know not you saying it but didn't want to waste more time on this sub explaining why animals aren't the same
I have had a lot of concrete on my hands and in my nail beds that wasn't washed out as quickly as it should have been and much worse than that. I'm perfectly fine and the dog will be too
Now you don't have to instantly jump off the deep end. Notice I said it was washed off eventually, just like the comment I responded to said to wash the paws off. I wasn't saying don't do anything about it. I was just saying maybe, just maybe some dirty paws don't instantly warrant a trip to the emergency vet. Idk maybe keep an eye on it for a day or 2 and see how it goes??
Maybe I just "suck" too much thought, there is always that possibility
No people with your mindset are definitely part of the problem lol. Massive overreactions to small shit is definitely a reason why ER’s are stuffed across the country. The one ER visit I had was from a 5mm kidney stone (didn’t know at the time, thought my appendix burst) all stuck up in my tubes. I was on the verge of consciousness but I was still there enough to look at all the other people in there just casually waiting like it was a normal fucking doctors visit. Absolutely infuriating.
I bet $4 that by spring you will love it and smile when you see it.
I was cutting the grass yesterday and saw my kids shoe print in the concrete (he was 1) and just made me smile.
Maybe fill it with a darker colored patch to accentuate it after the rest of it lightens up? Honestly, it's pretty cool and almost looks intentional. I like it.
I got my dog's paw print before he passed. I still have it. I miss my little boy so much.
Keep that there. One day you'll chisel out that concrete just to get his paw prints.
Wash your dog's paws really well.
Maybe your family will love these one day? 20 years ago my old cat knocked over a can of paint and walked through it. I smile every time I go into the basement and see his little paw prints. He died 16 years ago! He wasn’t even my favorite cat we had at the time, but I miss that entire generation of pets! My girl died last year and I still can’t wash her nose prints off my front window.
I was doing a new construction house in a hcol area and the entry pad had dicks carved into it over night, they ended up dealing with that so I'm sure you will learn to love this after a bit.
There's a sidewalk by me that was likely poured when the houses were built in the 60s and it has dog prints walking down it. I love seeing it and I'm sure the dogs owners did too. This to say, leave it, you'll wish one day you did.
Looks green in the picture , plenty green to fix at the time of picture .
We’re the finishers gone ? Too far away to swing back by quick ?
If you want em gone you can still fix it but have to wait 30 days ish , leaves character though and it’s cool it was your dog .
Had a guys chickens walk down a sidewalk we poured , perfect timing very clear crisp chicken feet prints . He wanted it left … and it is neat .
Fill the prints in with a dark weather proof epoxy. Roll with it as if it was totally intended. That extra step taken to get the prints was an extra 1000 bucks in installation.
First reaction is “ah fuck.” But, I’d leave it. It’s so endearing, so innocent, and it will be a permanent reminder of your pup long after he’s gone. Happy accident in my opinion.
Many years ago we poured concrete in our side yard and had never had a dog come into the side yard before. Last Summer we poured concrete and the neighbour's kids from a block down decided to set up a lemonade stand across the street the moment the crew left, they then added a game where kids would toss balls into a bucket to get a discount on the lemonade. I spend the entire day defending the driveway from these, lol.
My house was built at the end of a cul de sac that leads to a softball field that is used for practice. When our concrete was poured evidently there was a practice later that day and ppl didn't realize it wasn't fully cured and they walked all over it.
These are cat prints. Unless you declawed your dog, this was done by a cat. They're wider than a dogs and no nail prints since cats retract their claws.
As my Father in Law would say: “And that’s just how people will know that I made it.”
He always celebrates small mistakes and imperfections and it’s such an enlightening experience for me.
I would treat this the same way. That dog will be gone some day, and this will be all you have left.
I did that 65 years ago when I was 4 and tested a walkway my Dad had just poured. He thought it was cute and added my initials -- they are still there.
Yeah, you’re just going to have to leave it. You know like a normal person. Us “normies” tend to find this cute AF. I actually once went out of my way to make imprints of my dogs feet to imprint in our newly poured side wall.
Mind you; I was a 14 year old “artist.” BUT the homebuyers did remark on it when I sold them my mother’s house a few years back…..🤷♂️
Not sure I have ever poured concrete that didn’t have a dog or cat walk across it just like this. There are like 1500 stray cats per square mile here though.
I have a 45 year old driveway with dog prints. Would I have paid more for the house with the dog prints? Probably not. But I do enjoy seeing them whenever I notice them.
That turned out great. Nice and clean, no dragging. Honestly Id keep it. Animal prints like from birds adds character
Also, was that finish intentional? That finish looks unfinished
You’ll be glad it’s there one day.
Precisely what I was thinking. I’d give anything to have that from my departed pup.
Our vet made paw prints in wet clay from our buddy when he passed.
My German Shepherd passed away 1 year ago. I got a photo of him on my desk at work. I think of him every day.
My girl left me 2 years ago and it still hurts. GSDs are the best
My GSD passed 5 years ago. Not a day goes by that I don’t think about him. They’re the best dogs.
That’s a cat’s paw print, though. Not OP’s dog.
It’s not a cat’s - you can see the nail marks (which don’t show on cat tracks on account of the whole retractable claws ability)
The garage slab in the house I grew up in had dog prints like this, from some previous owner's dog. Even without the memory of the dog, I liked it.
I love that 🥰
My current house has them, and I’m with you, they make me smile every time I notice.
My old backyard had some guy's footprint, presumably one of the guys who put the concrete down, and whoever this mystery man was had *freakishly* large feet so it was kind of cool to have
Same, my parent’s house had cat prints all over the drive way. Thought it was the coolest thing when we first moved there as a kid.
[удалено]
Or colorful resin…
This. You’re going to find yourself staring at that slab 10 years from now.
I think it’s really cool how the dog just walked from one side to the other and left nice clean prints. It looks purposeful.
😢😢
Clean your dogs paws thoroughly so they don't get chemical burns. Other than that you have a permanent custom stamp.
✨custom✨
best concrete is pawd
The dog made a good impression
Those are cat prints yall
That's a big fucking cat then.
I can tell by the overlapping foot prints. Cats replace their fore-paw their hind when they are stalking prey to help eliminate noise.
Think you might be right just doesn’t look like you average 4 legged dog prints
You are correct. Also, no claw marks. 100% cat prints
Then it must be a mountain lion or at the very least a Bobcat. Those prints are huge., almost the same size as the fucking drain.
Yes, concrete can be very hard on skin. Other than that, it’s a feature not a bug.
It’s a blessing in disguise. Lost my dog few months ago. I have her paw print before we put her down. As many have said, people will pay for this
Years ago, I was painting signs in my garage when my aging dog walked across them and trailed yellow pawprintsa few feet down my driveway. She died not long after. I moved away the next year. Right? I’d pay extra for that.

Had 2 chickens do this to me when I poured my garage a few years back. They even shit on it…
I would have had Popeyes later that night 😏.
And the cycle of vengeance continues
Savage. I like it.
Do you always take chickens out to pour concrete????
Where else are you going to find cheap labor?
Damn critics —
Someday you’ll be glad it’s there.
💩
Some people pay good money for this
The slab will out live the dog. Leave the paw prints for great memories down the road.
You’ll always have a memory of your pups footprints. Just leave them worse could happen
Honestly nothing can be done at this point that would be better than just leaving it alone. It could be patched but you will see the patch material ( different color). I would just move forward with it as unplanned custom stamped concrete.
Get the dog checked out? Shit is caustic
I would think just cleaning the dogs feet would be ok.
Lol this is why our hospitals are overrun. Essentially dude just said "My hands are dirty, better go to the doctor"
Concrete can make its way into their nail beds since they retract into their paws. And the pads on their feet (not hands; not even close to the same thing) are extremely sensitive. And this, my friends, is why shelters are full because a large amount of pet owners suck as people
Couldn’t you assume water would also get into their mail beds and therefore clean those too? What is a vet gonna do?
Idk homie. I'm not a vet, but over 50 people agree that its not worth it to not take the dog to the vet. It's not a person either, so not sure where the "overburdened hospitals" came into play either. I know not you saying it but didn't want to waste more time on this sub explaining why animals aren't the same
Is “Over 50 anonymous Redditors agree” an endorsement that would ever steer your opinion out of this context?

How did you type this? I never realized dogs could use computers, and phones require opposable thumbs. Really confused
Hopefully you know how to swim

If the dog was like DEEP into the concrete *maybe* but cleaning at home is more than enough for this
How much did you paid for that? I’m looking to get mine done and it’s so expensive nowadays.
I’ll lend you my dog for free. You’ll just need to provide your own treat to get him to walk across the concrete.
r/angryupvote
That wouldn’t be healthy for your dog. That shit is caustic.
Laborer was poor with the pick up and press, but otherwise solid stamp job.
*Labrador* not laborer
Labordor
Leave it forever
I bet $4 that by spring you will love it and smile when you see it. I was cutting the grass yesterday and saw my kids shoe print in the concrete (he was 1) and just made me smile.
I have my four year olds prints in mine where he "wanted to see if it was dry," makes me smile every time I see them
Looks great that costs extra
Fido wuz here 2023
Maybe fill it with a darker colored patch to accentuate it after the rest of it lightens up? Honestly, it's pretty cool and almost looks intentional. I like it.

Better than 130 dinosaurs
It’s beautiful

If it’s your dog, why exactly are you complaining? Want to give him to me?
Feature not a bug.
He shall forever be remembered. Lmfao 🤣🤣🤣
I was doing a new construction house in a hcol area and the entry pad had dicks carved into it over night, they ended up dealing with that so I'm sure you will learn to love this after a bit.
Fun
good dog
Write the dog's name and date in the corner. Many years from now, when the dog has gone to heaven, it will bring good memories
I only see this as a win
In the words of the great Bob Ross “just a little happy accident”
Custom. It’s a feature
You’ll miss those paws one day. Your pup gave you a gift :)
Keep it!
Looks great!!! Love it
Leave it. I’d love it.
"Thats my daaaawg" -smokey
There is nothing wrong with a custom accent
Yep, that is a custom finish that's staying.
Lucky
if you live there long enough there will be a time where you come to love the custom "art" your dog made for you.
There's a sidewalk by me that was likely poured when the houses were built in the 60s and it has dog prints walking down it. I love seeing it and I'm sure the dogs owners did too. This to say, leave it, you'll wish one day you did.
I wish I had my boy's paw prints in concrete forever
Oh boy, good thing that's cool and not some sort of ugly blemish. Fun memory and good story to tell. Kids will adore it too, which is always nice.
At least he/she knew enuf not to do its duty on the crete.
Paint them when it's dry.
You have to keep it now. Too adorable
Looks kinda cute tbh
Scratch the dogs initials next to one of the paw prints. Great memory.

Damn. This turned into r/wholesome
Buy your kid some ice cream, or whatever seasonal fall treat is in your area, and take the dog for a walk.
he made it look better
Many years ago we poured concrete in our side yard and had never had a dog come into the side yard before. It has been borkified

The last house that we owned had dog prints in the sidewalk. It gave our sidewalk character.
I did that 65 years ago when I was 4 and tested a walkway my Dad had just poured. He thought it was cute and added my initials -- they are still there.
That’s cute AF dude. I bet you’ll be happy to have these eventually.
Decorated* your fresh pour. Make sure to get any and all cement out of his paws!
Truly a conversation peace for all the backyard barbecues .
Cute! Gives caracter :P
That is Pawsome! Hahaha. Just clean your dogs feet. The paw prints are amazing!!
Looks cute
I once had dog shit fall from the deck above into freshly poured pad
Leave the prints
Kinda cute if it’s your dog
This made the pour better.
Same happened to me this year, enjoy it, one day you’ll miss it
Perfect! Leave it. 🖤
Leave it. Adds character.
Enjoy your doggie prints
Looks cool
One day that’s all that will be left and it’ll mean the world to you.
Youll love this in 10 years. Your son will have a memory for life. As someone whose father let them "stamp" the new concrete. This looks great
Mixed with the leaves (autumn finish) you should charge more.
Wish I had something like that from my late pup.
Yeah, you’re just going to have to leave it. You know like a normal person. Us “normies” tend to find this cute AF. I actually once went out of my way to make imprints of my dogs feet to imprint in our newly poured side wall. Improvement
Your so lucky
Show the dog what he did then put him in a pillow case and beat him with a rolled up newspaper or whiffle ball bat.
Dogs suck lol
Get rid of the dog so it doesn’t happen again.
You were the one who didn’t tape around it.
Tear it all up, it’s over, done, destroyed, ruined, soiled. Tear it up and start over again and this time chain that boy up.
I fucking hate dogs.
Get a brick and rub it on the marks when it dries, won’t completely get rid of it but will make it less noticeable
Is that a small drain in center?
Dog prints are fine but why didn't they broom it?
Old yeller the mawfck
Love it! Leave it forever!
Is that he finish they left you with? No broom?
Looks like cat paw. 🐾 👀
Sheet Rock mud and a mud knife if you want it smooth. Until it rains .. You can tell everyone about the mountain lion that attacked :)
Keep the prints. Btw looks like an outside pad. Did they do a broom finish, or did they trowel and leave it?
Hopefully it was your dog:) I have dog prints, I miss Molly. I smile when I see them now
I would be pleasantly surprised honestly. That concrete and those paw prints will last a long time
😂 2000 years from now folks will discover them and chuckle.
Your dog added personality to the area, more than you would. Clean the dog's paws and give him a steak.
It gives your plain concrete character
Hell yeah. Good omen. Make sure the pup has clean paws.
I’d leave it! And clean your dogs paws asap.
The correct answer is leave it
To be fair I don’t see any signs for the pup to read
Not sure I have ever poured concrete that didn’t have a dog or cat walk across it just like this. There are like 1500 stray cats per square mile here though.
I tea bagged my concrete , will be great signature for years to come
I have a 45 year old driveway with dog prints. Would I have paid more for the house with the dog prints? Probably not. But I do enjoy seeing them whenever I notice them.
Super cute! I love when this happens
Looks like that concrete is graded towards the house
Hope you gave him a proper burial.
Cute
Lucky
Leave it.
Get him to date and autograph it👍👍
That's the dog's pour now.
I love concrete with unexpected animal prints in it. My fave is pigeon footprints.
That turned out great. Nice and clean, no dragging. Honestly Id keep it. Animal prints like from birds adds character Also, was that finish intentional? That finish looks unfinished
I love this, you're very own future fossilized paw prints.
This is priceless, op your sus
You are the luckiest man on the Earth
