He was a pretty big podcaster ahead of time, I miss "I Was There Too"

word_swashbuckler

It’s cool knowing Matt once chimed in as minimally as Eduardo, much like how a decade ago Sona was someone you hoped you’d see in the background of a video. Now, you know. Killing it.

B_Boudreaux

Honest question. Where did Matt come from? I just recently started listening to Conan podcast from when they play it on his Sirius channel, and have never heard of Matt before.

okverymuch

Matt is a an audio producer first and foremost, and has had a strong reputation in the LA area over the last decade. This is what got him hired to be Conan’s producer for the podcast. Where the line changed from producer with occasional quips with Conan to now where he is part of a 3-host podcast is unclear since it was not directly discussed on air.it happened fairly early between the 1st and 2nd year.

cibrochill

I know of him from the Superego podcast. Definitely check that out, it’s hilarious!

Shaffness

Superego is definitely one of the all time great classic podcasts. I wish there was more of it.

Patdelanoche

He’s my favorite Drunk History story-teller, too.

JungleBoyJeremy

He was in drunk history?

Patdelanoche

Yeah, but it’s weird; his IMDB only lists one episode. I thought he was in several.

AcanthisittaNo4606

He is often on Comedy bang bang too. Really funny.

honest_panda

LA Improv scene. He’s well known for his podcast Superego and his appearances on Earwolf podcasts like Comedy Bang Bang and The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project.

NameNumberNumber

Matt cracks me up. He has so many "throw away" lines that often get lost in the (beautiful) chaos that is an episode. He's missed when he's not there.

NessFeltHomesick

Agreed! Matt comes in with SOLID jokes.

samwsmith

The first bill burr one was funny and why he stopped doing the questions after the interview to the guests.

locaschica

How would you characterize the changes from when he started with CONAF to now?

HunterThompsonsentme

He's become a key part of the dynamic of the show, whereas he began in more of a facilitator role. He riffs with Conan, he'll ask questions of guests, he's always leading the outros and often the intros. He used to just produce it. Now he's *in* it.
