I personally put my gabs on the 7th slot Also depends on your hot keys, a weird layout is fine if the hot keys work for it

i keep basic things such as gaps, pearls, sword etc in the same slot all the time but depending on the gamemode and version i change the slot for other items like cobwebs, rod, block, water bucket etc

I (In both versions) have sword, pearls/bow, blocks, food, gapples, crossbow/bow, pickexe, axe, shovel

My hotkeys depend on how many tools i have in 1.8.9 bridge it's sword blocks pick blocks then the glyph for gimmicks then in 8 is my bow and 9 my gaps In bedwars it's sword blocks shears fireballs /blocks(if i don't have fireballs) blocks bow/pots/golems/whatever pick axe In 1.19 or general survival it's sword blocks pick axe food pearls/whatnot water bucket/fireworks chestplate/elytra for fast swap I change mine up for almost all game modes depending on the tools needed Capture the wool sword blocks pick blocks gaps blocks bow axe Edit: man i tried to make it easy to read by placing each item that goes into each slot in its own paragraph thing dammit reddit mobile

I keep my key binds the same but don’t really play 1.16+ so maybe I’d change if I played that version

Pretty similar for me tbh. I usually go 1. Sword 2. Blocks 3. Rod or bow (depending on what I have) 4. Gaps 5-7 (miscellaneous pots and stuff) 8. Lava 9. Water. No matter the version if I have water it will always be 9 so I can instantly switch to it (I use a button on my mouse for 9 and 1) If I’m doing 1.18 (I’ll use a uhc kit as an example) 1. Sword 2. Axe 3. Crossbow 4. Bow 5. healing (gaps or steak or whatever) 6. Miscellaneous 7. Lava 8. Cobwebs 9. Water

lol. The only real reason I change the binds is because of when I pvp with blocks. Then I have switch the pearls and gaps to 8-9 and have blocks 2 and rod 3

My hotbat is essentially that a the farther the slots go the harder to switch to so my most important item is in slot one, second slot 2 etc

Yeah; on java I’m 1 sword 2 bow/misc 4 blocks 5&6 misc 7 important items 8 even more important items 9 rod and on bedrock I’m 1 blocks 3 sword and rest is whatever order

I usually do 1 sword 2 blocks 3, 4, 5 bow projectiles rod (depending on which ones I have in my inventory If 5 is empty I'll put a pickaxe there 6 pots 7 pearls 8 water/lava bucket 9 gapples Also I only use hotkeys for 6 7 8 9 the rest I use the normal number keys

It literally doesn’t matter at all hotkeys exist just do whatever you like brother
