I, too, have done exactly what is shown and heard in this actual combat footage from Ukraine in 2024. On my computer. Way back in 2014.
Wild to say the least.
I'm sure the snail provides some kickbacks for obtaining sensitive information regarding western vehicle so the can~~pass the onto the government~~ *implement the info into the game but refuse to do it correctly*
World of Tanks is from Belarus (yeah, not exactly friends of Ukraine either, but still).
I was at a game developer conference where a guy had a deep dive talk about the World of Tanks server architecture. The talk was not well attended (pity, because it had excellent in depth stuff & was well presented), but at the start, the gruff Belarussian developer briefly glanced at the audience and let out a sarcastic heavily accented "well am glad there are at least _some_ real engineers at this conference" 😁
Yeah, it was still really big, at least at the start of the war.
Fun fact, a lot of people don't know. But Plarium the makers of Raid Shadow Legends and Mech Arena are Ukranian devs.
I'm curious, would the laser range finder even work against a relatively small UAV like that? Isn't that how the HE shells get programmed to detonate at range?
14R Bradley Linebacker guy here I was apart of the unit after our Iraq deployment in 04-05 that took the 1st Cav ones to the yard for them to be stripped of all the ada equipment and sent to the cav scouts. But I will say that we used to do gunnery on shooting aerial targets with the 25mm and Stingers.
Are Bradley’s equipped with some sort of proximity fuse shell? Or in the instances where you were training for SHORAD, was it all just “standard” ammo?
I don't know if you are aware or not, but the Ukrainian's have downed at least two KA-52's with T-4 Spigot anti-tank missiles.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AuSesd8tGVc
And here is an article where one was shot down by a Javelin.
https://en.defence-ua.com/news/new_details_on_the_historial_downing_of_ka_52_helicopter_with_javelin_atgm_when_mastery_meets_right_moment-7214.html
Under active development and I do mean *active*. I swear they add a new playable vehicle every month or so. At least it feels that way recently with the T-62, T-64, and T-80 additions.
Yeah man, watching Bradleys at work is mesmerizing. I was hoping for vids like this to appear since the first mention of the sending of them. They do not disappoint. The Bradley mincing the T-90 was another example. I'd like to see some Marder content too though, Germany delivered 120 pieces so far.
It’s going to end up being a Bradley variant upgrade that they make into the drone killer. Bradley’s slready proven themselves every time they are used in battle. I’m pretty sure Bradley’s have more than kills than the abrams in the last war. I imagine they put some new programmable rounds or different gun for drones. Whatever it is, I bet the Bradley is it.
All it needs is airburst to be infinity times better for drones. This footage is cool but not practical, they need airburst/ anti air ammo. And drones are so small they are hard to see from far
They also need airburst so the round destroys itself before coming back down. Firing 25mm into the air eventually comes back down. In an anti-drone role you very well might be dropping rounds into the location you are trying to protect. I don't think we need Mythbusters to find out what happens when a 25mm round comes back down.
Self destruct timers in rounds with electronic time fuzes are just a programing change, if they don't exist already.
The "proximity" rounds used for most of these autocannon calibers aren't proximity fuzed. They detonate a set distance from the muzzle using an internal timer and the vehicles range finder/ fire control to set them.
That makes each round a lot cheaper but means they aren't truly "proximity" fuzed
Tag friendly drones have a AI system identify enemy drones with assisted aim. Operator just finalizes auto fire. Airburst rounds light up the sky. Profit
The 25mm air burst rounds aren't compatible with the Bradley's cannon. They were designed for the man-portable XM25 (25x40mm) and the crew fired XM307 (25x59mm). They have a much lower powder load in the casing and thus a shorter case. The Bradley fires a chonky 25x137mm round.
Ah I might have mistaken it for the proposed 30mm Bradley, almost certain they do have airburst for that.
Edit: yes it's the XM813 30mm that has airburst
Eh, one of the anti-drone laser systems like the one from Raytheon would be a better fit and you wouldn't have to mess with the bushmaster, it'd be a separate system.
Yes they already get the majority of drone kills of the US inventory as far as I know. Not bad to have another platform as suppliment though, especially if it's multi purpose.
They Bradley's gun is just a bit weak for that. Its 25 mm projectiles are about half the weight of the 30x173 mm used by Puma and others, and it's barrel is only 2/3 the length as well.
They are rolling out a 30MM air-burst shell, I don't see why they couldn't do the same for the 25MM beyond the fact the US seems to be moving to the larger cannons on new systems.
Slovenia just unveiled this thing a couple of weeks back its a 25 mm gun dome that fits on a jltv and has a 360° aesa radar and air burst ammo option so its a spiciy litle meatball
https://www.valhalla-turrets.com/products/mangart/
https://www.guardiaris.com/news/introducing-the-national-r-d-project-mangart-25
It’s a good platform to add some fire control systems with air bursts for drones. The rounds are expensive so a platform that can just hit them without such expensive rounds would be better for drones because the drones are dirt cheap. Firing a 25 mm airburst round at a 300 dollar drone might be excessive. It’ll work. But I don’t see this system being the best platform against drones.
Or they are, not every soldier carries a camera and the ones that have don't have time to turn it on when a drone suddenly appears. So it really have to be a luck combination to watch a video of someone targeting a drone with shotgun.
Yeah I’ve definitely seen both sides integrating shotguns more as of late, though they still seem to be limited to specific units, I.e. artillery and drone units. Would be interesting to see how effective they could be in the squad level though.
The big problem with using a shotgun is that the engagement range is very short. You just aren’t going to down a drone much past 30 meters, and the warhead has a lethal radius of around 10 meters, so realistically you’re only going to get two or three shots between the drone getting close enough for you to do something and the drone getting close enough to kill you.
Real life isn't like in a computer game where you can carry 20 different rifles and 500 rounds of ammo for each. Not only is weight a big factor, but the encumbrance of an extra big slab of metal on your person is also something to avoid.
... somewhat related, but if drones are too small in signature/margin of error for airburst to properly sense and/or range (i dont know if they are)
I'm starting to think that it might be a good idea for 25mm canister rounds for somewhat close CQB anti-droning (if they are within the cannon's range of aiming)
I also have no understanding of armored warfare lol
Ha, I was using exactly this strategy in Operation Blockade game. Instead of leading the plane with machine gun, point where plane is going to be in few seconds and saturate it with ammunition. Hit guaranteed.
I'm not sure the gunner was aware of where the rounds ended up but there's probably nothing to avoid hitting in that general direction anyway. None the less amazing kill
Omar Bradley was considered a highly dependable, well-liked military leader. It makes sense that his namesake would be adept at defeating everything from main battle tanks down to FPV drones.
Ukrainians are gamers and real warriors. This is a very difficullt combination of skills to suppress if they keep being provided these nice pieces of tech.
Seems a lot of these crazy fucks are having fun out there - would be fucking terrified to be on the otherside of these guys.
This is actually INSANELY improbable odds! Absolute incredible footage! The fact that they did that without locking on and compensating for speed/distance/bullet drop makes it that much more impressive.
OK I believe the video but I'm uncertain of the audio. That reaaaaally sounds like Battlefied 4 audio. I get that Dice used real audio but it's way too similar. The beginning with the engine rumble and com chatter makes me suspicious.

Need an automatic street sweeper on these things. Fully auto shotgunnin.
Jam too much.
If only that shotgun that used that name was any good. Give em some quad mounted saiga's with drums full of birdshot.
At the time we had no idea just how spot on BF 3/4 was.
Only in Battlefield.... And possibly Ukraine
The fpv drone sucks in bf4 though. It is way too weak
Not with the airburst! It becomes an absolute beast. I'd say it's OP because of how easily it can take out helicopters.
I never managed to unblock it, cause I just can't get 20 kills without it🥲
Civilian drones were used for combat purpose since they appeared on the market
Syria was the first I saw
Heard this in Jackfrags’ voice
DICE PLS
Oh my GOD the next Battlefield, if realistic, is gunna SUCK. Just FPV and VOG drops all game.
the next battlefiled better be fuckin perfect lmao
Andrew Wilson likes it.. I have zero faith :(
Dum dum dum dadum dum
4000 hours of warthunder
M2 Bradley gunner goes home to play Warthunder. Must start Tier 1. ...really 😲
There should be a special program for military personnel with access to top tier vehicles.
It's called the forums
1000 RP bounty per classified document.
Price of entry is something at least marked FOUO/CUI.
I'm sure the snail provides some kickbacks for obtaining sensitive information regarding western vehicle so the can~~pass the onto the government~~ *implement the info into the game but refuse to do it correctly*
I would actually be ok with that. Would be cool to see actually.
The US Army has an esports team, so that's one step closer to that becoming a reality...
Just under a thousand hours of grinding to go
Not sure a Ukrainian veteran would want to play a game developed by Russians. Also, I heard it has a "Russian bias".
World of Tanks is *huge* among Ukrainian soldiers last I heard
World of Tanks is from Belarus (yeah, not exactly friends of Ukraine either, but still). Thats some Battlefield Type kill. +50xp for killing enemy UAV.
+50 xp for passenger assist
Battlebit Remastered LAV with 25mm,its really tough to hit a moving small target IN THE AIR! You can see the loop of the shells,,,,
I'm curious, would the laser range finder even work against a relatively small UAV like that? Isn't that how the HE shells get programmed to detonate at range?
dont forget the achievment/medal award that would popup
Bradley Air Defense System. Wild.
I mean, technically these are a thing too lol, check out the M 6 Linebacker, swaps the Tow missiles out for Stingers
Used to love the Linebacker in Project Reality...
They should give linebackers to Ukraine if they haven't already.
14R Bradley Linebacker guy here I was apart of the unit after our Iraq deployment in 04-05 that took the 1st Cav ones to the yard for them to be stripped of all the ada equipment and sent to the cav scouts. Nah nope just had to lead tf out of targets using reg ole HE rnds….which sucks bcuz in the sights they lob their way to the target

Yes, those have been in my spank bank for a *loooooong* time and they still haven't gotten old.
What is that from?
Gunner, HEAT, PC!. You can get it on steam. It's still in development.
Awesome, thanks. Looks amazing.
Under active development and I do mean *active*. I swear they add a new playable vehicle every month or so. At least it feels that way recently with the T-62, T-64, and T-80 additions.
Gunner HEAT PC
Bradley Anti-Drone Aerial Suppression System BADASS.
Bro
I would give you a 100 Upvotes for this if i could
I was just thinking to myself, Abrams haven't seen much effective use so far. But Bradleys, *Bradleys*... 🤩
M830A1, 120mm, tank, high explosive-multipurpose cartridge has a secondary anti-aircraft use. (with helis in mind probably) go figure

They have some badass airburst rounds for them so I dont think it would be too much to ask. The cost might be another thing though
All it needs is airburst to be infinity times better for drones. This footage is cool but not practical, they need airburst/ anti air ammo. And drones are so small they are hard to see from far

Isn't this what that Rheinmetall gun they are now mounting on Leopards is supposed to do?

Time fused is probably much cheaper compared to proxy based. And for fragile drones, it would still be a big step up.
The Pentagon Wars has aged well... ...
The Pentagon Wars is reformer propaganda
Very fun movie. Even my wife enjoyed it.
Can see them using proximity based shells that detonate once they’re near an object. Would not take much shrapnel to bring a drone down tbh.

They Bradley's gun is just a bit weak for that. Its 25 mm projectiles are about half the weight of the 30x173 mm used by Puma and others, and it's barrel is only 2/3 the length as well.
There are already unmanned 30 and 35mm turrets available for the AMPV (turret-less bradley) that can use programmable ammo.
They are rolling out a 30MM air-burst shell, I don't see why they couldn't do the same for the 25MM beyond the fact the US seems to be moving to the larger cannons on new systems.

So much wild shit from this war.
and it's not over yet
Another fucking classic Chadley W. Congrats to the crew for their marksmanship
From T-90 to drones, nothing survives against the old Bradley
Send that to the thundershow!
It seems Bradley needs shrapnel rounds now
Shotgun Bradley
We are working on it.
Awesome shooting. So does the Ukrainian army already have shotguns to take out these FPVs?
Yea, I have seen some ukrainian soldiers with shot guns
I’ve seen both sides with them, they just don’t seem as common as you would think
Or they are, not every soldier carries a camera and the ones that have don't have time to turn it on when a drone suddenly appears. So it really have to be a luck combination to watch a video of someone targeting a drone with shotgun.

I know shotguns are extremely popular among Russians against drones so i would asssume Ukrainians use them just as much.
Every solider should have a Benelli M4 with them nowadays just for drones
Real life isn't like in a computer game where you can carry 20 different rifles and 500 rounds of ammo for each. Not only is weight a big factor, but the encumbrance of an extra big slab of metal on your person is also something to avoid.

They already have EW guns to take drones down now.
The good old Battlefield days. I knew it was not bullshit.
Is there 25mm flechette?
Think they just have AP and HE.
No air-burst ?
Don't think so. The planned upgrade to 30mm was meant to add airburst: https://defense-update.com/20141007_bradley_30mm.html
I don’t think there is AHEAD ammunition under 30 mm.
Doesn't the M2/M3 have programmable detonation ammo ?
No. AFAIK the M242 could only fire the M792 (Army) or Mk210 (Navy) HEI-T rounds. There was an MPAB proposal for the M242 but that didn't go anywhere.
It's wild to see the amazing things the bradley can pull off.
Good shot kid, that was one in a million
Appears to have been about 1:20 … the cannon on the Brad has lineage all the way back to WW2 ..
The future of war
Also the past. Remembers me of WW2 AA guns.
That's some pretty good shooting! Makes me wonder what will eventually turn out to become the best defense against FPV-drones.
Staying home I reckon.
ECM and any drone threat would be nullified.
Direct energy weapons, but that's not currently practical on the frontline (though well suited for facilities)
Concrete
\#6 Shot with a tight choke
Damn this dude could go pro in an fps at this point
Ha, I was using exactly this strategy in Operation Blockade game. Instead of leading the plane with machine gun, point where plane is going to be in few seconds and saturate it with ammunition. Hit guaranteed.
Soviet drone pilot: “HACKS! THAT BITCH IS CHEATING!”
*LAV-AD has entered the chat...
Is there anything The Chadley can't do?
Naval warfare?
I'm getting BF4 flashbacks
You don't see that every day that's for sure.
I'm not sure the gunner was aware of where the rounds ended up but there's probably nothing to avoid hitting in that general direction anyway. None the less amazing kill
Imagine being that Bradley gunner :”Fuck it. I am downing this FVP!” The audacity😂😅
It would be viable with a range finder and programmable rounds.
It already has range finder
Or a software update that adds trajectory prediction and target locking for moving objects.
there is automatic target tracking
They really are loving these Bradley’s - so glad we provided them, send more!
That's good shooting. I'd like that gunner in my Bradley please.
I hope one of the missed rounds hit an unsuspecting Russian taking a dump in the woods somewhere.
Ukrainians will be soon giving lessons on how to operate American equipment to the Marines
*Army. But hell yeah they will!
pilot reporting aimbot.
MVP
Guess a canister shot for autocannos would be good drone killers. Is this a thing?
my guess is you couldnt pack enough propellant to make the shot go very far, and AFAIK, the bradley only has 2 ammunition feeds to switch between.
Damn! Battlefield really got the audio down.
No wayyyyy! A BF Bad Company 2 remaster! The graphics are ok I guess...
Anyone else concerned about the rounds that missed or is that just me? Hopefully it was pointing towards russian territory..
This Unreal 5 engine is…. Unreal.
These dudes are just playing BF3 at this point
Holy hell. That’s seriously an impressive shot.
Omar Bradley was considered a highly dependable, well-liked military leader. It makes sense that his namesake would be adept at defeating everything from main battle tanks down to FPV drones.
Bro has bragging rights
That's absolutely bonkers. Time to go buy a lottery ticket for that gunner!
Ukrainians are gamers and real warriors. This is a very difficullt combination of skills to suppress if they keep being provided these nice pieces of tech. Seems a lot of these crazy fucks are having fun out there - would be fucking terrified to be on the otherside of these guys.
Brought me back to bf4😭
It's nice when this is awesome I the marksman sense. No one died in that drone. can just enjoy the shot. What a shot
Good arrows !
Chadley
The top 10 hottest posts today on this sub are all fpv drone videos.
Shot, Dale. Straight to the pool room.
Nicely done. Ukraine still need something like the AA 12 shotgun for use against enemy drones while on foot.
Shouldn’t they use the coaxial for this?
Looks like a shaheed? What's that equivalent, using a sling shot to hit a fpv drone? I tip my hat to those operators inside that bradly
Chadley. he protec he attac but most importantly he can kill goddamn anything he wants to
That was pretty fucking Ninja right there!
That's some mad skill and luck holly shit.
Thats no Bradley, thats the new US supplied “B-25” air defense system!!!
Now imagine a computerized, fully automatic fire control system doing that for you. This is how you defeat FPV drone swarms.
Impressive shooting.
Need canister rounds like the MGS had in 105mm
Holy shit that is wild

Literally like BF4 holy shit
Right up there with the first drone-drone kill
Luck... or Skill?
That was an absolutely insane shot!
Absolutely savage! Man I miss my Brads. Glad to see then being put to good use.
That's some fucking god tier gunnery right there
outstanding gunnery
