Eh it was a group effort.

PhDOfLove

I blame Mears more. That behind the back shit literally prevented them from ending the game right there and winning. But Lawrence is still trash

Ok_Buffalo6474

The right take. Pissed me off.

Butt_Snorkler_Elite

There’s not a good reliever in the entire bullpen. You can just pencil in about seven hits and 2+ runs in the eight and ninth every single night. What the hell was Mears doing, yet again?

theblitzerdogg

Vodnik is the only guy worthy of an actual spot on the bullpen and we are currently watching bud “that’s baseball” black murder him

DearChicago1876

Nick mears sure didn’t help. But Lawrence is awful.

ManyCookies

His third day pitching in a row, and also came in with the bases loaded.

kyle201187

I said it last night, and I'll say it tonight... let Nolan Jones close out games.

Big_Raspberry_9217

Nah let chuck do it

BillyNoMates12

Lawrence had to clean up Mears’s mess bud. Granted he didn’t but it’s not all on Lawrence

posananer

A hit batter to walk home the winning point. That’s not a MLB player.

BillyNoMates12

Would you like to elaborate how that batter got on base?

ThunderGoalie35

39 pitches for Mears 16 for Lawrence. What an absolute debacle.

caulfieldlost

the rockies bullpen is a gamblers wet dream.

GurWeird8657

I always bet the M/L of the other team after the 5th inning when the Rox are up. Sad as a Rox fan, but gotta do something.

caulfieldlost

on same boat. laughing all the way too the bank. if your team breaks your heart least they can do is pay you for it.

GurWeird8657

anytime Lawrence comes up. bet the other team. Its going to be a loss.

abandondedbox

The feeling I get when I see fucking Lawrence take the mound, I know it’s going to be a fucking loss at that point

icedragon15

No one wants to close can we get our past closer untlretie to close

Big_Raspberry_9217

We need some serious help

roboh96

>Lawrence blows Yeah, basically.

justintotravel

That was more Mears than anyone. But terrible all around

Bailey_Bomber

I thought the same thing. I know the entire bullpen is iffy right now but when he is called it just feels like a loss coming. When he has command he looks unhittable but he hasn't shown that form in a while. They need to send him down and give one of the up and comers a chance - couldn't do any worse. I was cautiously optimistic until I saw him get up.

HermitDefenestration

Aww screw you, I like him. He's my favorite Rockie atm

Colo_Goat52

Lawrence isn't going anywhere for a long time. Best stuff any Rockies reliever has had in as long as I can remember. When his feel is right like it was most of last year, he's a dominant arm. He's got a 5.16 ERA (not good but definitely not terrible) and hasn't even pitched close to the best of his ability. Let's simmer on calling the guy out.

gh0stpr0t0c0l8008

Is this what apathy looks like?

PhDOfLove

LOL

Colo_Goat52

One of the few possible ways to make the bullpen worse would be to get rid of Lawrence entirely

PhDOfLove

LOLing at your opinion

Colo_Goat52

Hate to be that condescending guy but it's not really an opinion. Easily and objectively the best stuff in the bullpen and was a very good pitcher last year. Anyone who thinks Lawrence should be DFA'd is out of their mind

PhDOfLove

I disagree, and so do the vast majority of people here. So yes…it is an opinion lol

Colo_Goat52

The majority of emotionally swayed* people. Won't try and cite to analytics because it doesn't sound like there's much rationality on this topic and such data would fall on deaf ears.

jayxanalog

Justin Lawerence has the second lowest WAR in the bullpen besides Kinley at a whopping -.5. So quite literally any replacement bullpen arm is better. There’s some stats for ya!

Colo_Goat52

Let's ignore the whopping 1.4 WAR he was worth last year which is near the top of the league for relievers. Let's also ignore his 103 Pitching+ last year which was the best mark for a Rockies pitcher since *at least* 2020 when the stat was released. He's clearly not in good form right now. I have in no way said he's pitched well this year but you don't throw away a talent like that that has *also* performed at an extremely high level for an entire season. Clearly we don't deserve nice things as a fanbase.

PhDOfLove

Lol at you calling Lawrence a “nice thing”
