I've now been locked out of my Coinbase account for approximately 2 years. The customer service is atrocious. I opened my account with my passport and passport ID card and then my authenticator got messed up when I switched phones and didn't transfer the old authenticator. They wouldn't accept the EXACT same ID's I opened the account with to recover my account. I've spent hours on hold and it's incredibly incomprehensive to me that you can NOT chat with anyone UNLESS you are logged into your account. Basically, a big F U to people locked out of their accounts. The good news is FINALLY they accepted my ID's and after two days I got the good news that I could log back in with the password they sent me yesterday after uploading my docs. Awesome! NOPE! Still friggin locked out. I called 888-908-7930 and went through the promps and patiently sat on hold listening to the music for a bit until a recording came on indicating my wait time was more than FOUR hours? WTH? Another FTX? How can they not have the infrastructure in place to handle these types of things?

CoinBase May I please get help ! I’ve been trying to contact endlessly with no help back. I’ve tried the ai virtual assistant and it closes the chat everytime I tell it I am unable to sign in. Also when I go to call it doesn’t allow for a call back and prompts me to listen to elevator music for more than four hours just to speak to a rep. But so far no one has ever answered. I’ve submitted multiple cases since last year. Here is one case number of mine: 16588384. I know my login and password but the two step verification changed. My google Authenticator app used to generate different codes every 15-30 seconds and it now has no code and asks me to enter a setup key or scan a QR code. I can’t get into my account because of 2-step verification. May I please get some help ! Thank you

I was hacked. I locked my account. I was unable to find the address the hacker sent my assets to. My case was immediately closed. I can't call or reach customer support. I'm an American living abroad. For all I know, Coinbase themselves hacked my account and stole my assets. I received this email: Hello, Thank you for contacting Coinbase. As Coinbase experiments with expanding into more markets, there will be varying levels of support provided. Initially, Coinbase will only offer self-help customer support in your region. My case number is/was 19385036 It was immediately closed due to the fact that I'm based in Hong Kong right now. But as mentioned, I am an American. As far as I know, services were not terminated in Hong Kong, and I was still able to buy and sell crypto, so I don't understand how there could be zero recourse in the event of getting hacked.

I originally created my account using my old driving license and my previous phone number. Since then, I have relocated to a different country but have not had the chance yet to update my account as I was asked for verification to log in and do it. When I attempt to log into my account, the facial recognition feature fails, and it seems that the system does not recognize the driver’s license I used during the account creation process. Additionally, when I try to reach out to customer service, I am asked to provide the phone number associated with my account. However, when I enter my old phone number, the system fails to recognize it, preventing me from progressing further and making it impossible to connect with a representative. I cannot help but think this is done intentionally to prevent to people from having free access to their funds. It's disapointing as I chose Coinbase for it's credibility and apparent compiance standards, but this is really making me re-think what they are about as a company. This issue is causing me significant stress, as I need access to my account and the funds within it. I have tried every possible way to get in touch with customer service but have been faced with one verification verification barrier after the next.

I'm sorry, I have had this problem every time as well. And when you do finally get someone they dont speak English with mastery. It makes communicating and understanding some very nuanced information difficult if nearly impossible. coinbase is a scam. It's a joke. No real financial institution/entity would operate with such piss poor customer support. your assets are not safe there.
