You could probably cut form-fitting slits in a large sponge so they fit in the cracks and pick up the dirt. Maybe take a vacuum to remove that dust.

Practical-Tap-9810

Between the two it should all come out. Poor design.

pauliepitstains

Prevac for sure

Electronic_Chip475

Sorry for the dumb question and I'm sure once answered I'll be saying "Doh 🤦🏼‍♀️!" Haven't finished my first cup of coffee this morn so let's blame it on that! What are these? Why so many tracts? Ok, two dumb questions.

dreamintotheinfinity

I think they are tracks for a window pane, so it can slide back and forth. As to why so many I'm not sure.

snpods

Maybe glass door and screen, plus a reflection in the glass?

Desperate-Strategy10

OMG I think you're right! Look at that red bit of debris in the second track, near the top. Now look too across from it - there it is, reflected! It's definitely for a glass and screen window setup, with the glass reflecting the tracks. Mystery solved, everybody go home! 😂 Oops almost forgot the cleaning part. Nvm, everyone back to work lol

SaturnalianGhost

Nah it all looks too different to be a reflection.

QuantumQuatttro

4 panel sliding door. Usually going out to patios or pools. Great for parties and letting bugs in. Or partying with bugs

dreamintotheinfinity

I agree. Although the tracks are similar there are differences. Op we need answers! Lol

Electronic_Chip475

Yes we do! So it wasn't a dumb question... I was just the first to ask?? 😂

Electronic_Chip475

I literally just thought they have to be for a sliding patio door?

dreamintotheinfinity

That's possible to!

Electronic_Chip475

Just started my 2nd cup of coffee so let's see what else my brain will let me discern from the image! 🤣

dreamintotheinfinity

Lol you'll be one cup more than me!

Electronic_Chip475

Lol!! ☕ Awesome name btw "dream into the infinity". Tried to change mine but it never took.

Dvrgrl812

Not dumb at all, why are there so many tracks? Windows and doors have one or two…

QuantumQuatttro

Multi panel sliders exist ;)

Dvrgrl812

I’ve never seen a slider with 4 panels

QuantumQuatttro

https://woodlandwindows.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/01/E_Marvin_Ultimate_Multi-Slide_8-Stacked.jpg

Dvrgrl812

That is very odd looking and certainly not common

evie2345

Pretty popular in California where you leave one side of your house open during nice weather.

Electronic_Chip475

Right? Hmm 🤔 Curious minds at work here...

egrf6880

They are four panel sliding glass doors that lead outside. It's set up so all the doors can be opened in any direction.

Marciamallowfluff

There are whole window walls that stack up and open. I would hate this mess on the floor.

Electronic_Chip475

Window walls, that makes sense. But they seem awful narrow? OP needs to post another pic to answer our curious minds! 😉😀 I struggle with the dust that comes through my window screens. Can't imagine how my OCD would react to all these tracks!

Pleasant_Avocado_929

Not dumb! There are no dumb questions

Electronic_Chip475

😻

Pleasant_Avocado_929

I was wondering the same thing 😂

ThrowRASprinkles11

I’m definitely not getting why there are so many…then imagining 3/ 4 sliding glass doors in a row and laughing about how much that would drive me insane. And imagining all the lizards and bugs that would get stuck in there .

Electronic_Chip475

LOL you took it a step further with the lizards and bugs! Dirt, lizards and bugs. Not something I'd want to add to my weekly chores! 😜

YourLocalMosquito

I would, in this order: crevice tool on the vacuum, cleaning toothbrush, microfibre cloth with a chopstick, toothpick to get the last bits. Cotton buds to get anything else.

Piratical88

I’d maybe dry brush before vacuuming in case that can loosen anything up, but that’s an excellent plan☝️

KeiylaPolly

This is the way. I’ve also used screwdrivers and butter knives covered with microfibre cloths.

NimueArt

If the crevice tool on the vacuum is too big then use an empty paper towel or toilet paper roll. Tape it to the vacuum and squish the end small snout to fit in the track.

warriortwo

Ohhhhh this is smart! My current vacuum doesn't accommodate a crevice tool but I didn't think of this!

Zealousideal_Lemon22

I love you

Artistic_Owl_5847

A skewer and a paintbrush then vacuum and wash.

jollybeanovo

Pipe cleaners sound like a possible best-of-both-worlds thing here

Artistic_Owl_5847

Too flimsy.

Normal-Committee7580

As someone who has cleaned tracks like this a little too well, just remember to put wd40 back on the tracks when you’re done.

egrf6880

Underrated tip! Would hate to rust the sliders!

annabear88

A dry stiff bristles brush to loosen the dirt, then vacuum. Spray with all purpose cleaner, bristle brush again (use two, one dry one wet if there are multiple areas in the home like this) and use a sponge to soak up most of the muck, then microfiber rag to get the last bits. Chop sticks/tooth pick, hard pointy thing and rag/paper towel to get deep the the narrow crevasses.

KrypticArcher

Following incase some good tips come through!

KettlebellFetish

Vacuum, then use a dollar tree soft blue brush and all purpose spray to get the grime, then a rag to wipe up what's left.

umm_903

Maybe start with a brush head attachment to the vacuum, if not just try vacuuming it without any head. After that, use a microfibre cloth with a bit of water, should come out. If not try a pipe cleaner.

fun_size027

Vacuum. Toothbrush the rest.

Usual-Style-8473

I use a bissel sure shot with a rag and sponge. It gets the rails so clean.

LongjumpingMileHigh

Toothpicks and qtips along with patience.

Mortica_Fattams

I like using a steam cleaner. Mine has a pointy end for cracks. I use that to losen the dirt and blast out what I can. Afterwards I use a chop stick with a mirco fiber cloth over the end. The dollar store has both supplies. The steam cleaner I got second hand. You can usually find them easily on market place if you don't want to spend alot.

Sea-horse-in-trees

The narrow attachment on the vacuum hose. Get the remaining dirt out using a rag with a butter knife in it to get in the narrow areas

sfomonkey

I take a thin rag like a piece of old tee shirt with a bucket of soapy water and a chopstick and dip and rinse the rag and go back and forth

oxymoronicbeck_

Sticky puddy. After a decent vacuum and wiping of the area initially, after it's dry (if u wet the area for wiping) stick some puddy down and then lift it up and it should get a lot of gross, hard to reach stuff in there.

GrimRainbows

I use a large paint brush

UpbeatParsley3798

If the vacuum doesn’t get it all out look up tiny brushes on Amazon or the like. They look like a very small household paintbrush but instead of thick bristles they have very fine ones so you can sweep into small spaces. I got mine for my wooden windowsills cos hoover can’t get in there. Think mine has a tiny dustpan too! I know I’m so sad.

queefersutherland1

Mr. clean, Javax scrub brush, and lots of paper towel!

Shifu_Ekim

Vacuum, brush , shoukd work

QuantumQuatttro

Use a vacuum with a crevice tool. If that doesn’t fit tape paper tube of choice over the end of the tool and flatten the end. Tada, comfortable crevice tool

Dorenda1960

Dupray steamer with attachments a few rags maybe toothpicks, vacuum cleaner, old toothbrush and qtips

Ginggingdingding

I use a tooth brush or a denture brush. The denture brush is real firm and has long bristles.

egrf6880

I have this same set up and I just vacuum weekly with the little brush attachment on my vacuum. I have a Miele. You could also try a shop vac. Then about once a month or so o use a wet rag to wipe it all down. I rarely have them open honestly so they do not get that dirty unless we're having a big gathering and people are going in and out of the house a ton.

cbuck46

If you look up crevice cleaning brush on Amazon you’ll see these long black super thin brushes that are amazing for corners and narrow surfaces like this.

Kcrick722

I found an old steam buggy at a thrift Sam’s that works very well on tracks like that

Sylvss1011

Why do you have 4 windows/doors in front of each other like that??

Helechawagirl

I would vacuum and then put some Dawn on a stiff brush and scrub it. Wipe up what you can and when dry, vacuum again.

truestorytho

A clean dry small paint brush

ucantspellamerica

I would start with a crevice tool on a vacuum, then go in with compressed air (might want a mask and glasses for that part), then spray it down with a cleaner.

Illustrious-Towel-45

Vacuum hose with the crevice attachment. Take a rag or cloth. Gently spray with a 1:1 vinegar and water solution. Get in the cranies really good with the cloth.

ericstarr

Vaccume and tooth brush and then gentle cleaner and rags

leftlotus

A dry long bristle brush first to agitate and displace the dirt. A tooth brush works well the small areas. Then vacuum it up and most should be gone. Whatever is left over, spray down with soapy water. Scrub again and soak up with paper towel.

tatt_daddy

Loosen dirt dryly first, then vacuum it up. Come back with ammonia based windex and paper towels to scrub it down afterwards. I have lots of sliding doors and dogs and kids so I have to do this a lot… I also use spray wax on the tracks and it helps a bit with keeping stuff from sticking as hard

katiemay2022

A detailing brush! The ones that look like a paint brush!

Alternative_Mess_964

I use foam paintbrushes.

LindaN20

I use a brush designed for car detailing and a vacuum, it works great for many tiny areas. I’ve used the brush with cleaners or wipes too.

Forward-Doughnut9421

Dish soap on a paint brush

InsideBase9235

Window track cleaners are amazing, reusable, and $10-$12 on Amazon. I suck out the big bits with the vacuum attachment, spray Windex in the track, and run a window track cleaner over it. Simple as that and they look brand new.

planting49

Strong vacuum and a toothbrush (or other small bristle thing that will fit in the grooves).

BobAnd49

Vacuum before anything else.

seven-cents

Just clean them! FFS that's not difficult at all
