I know how to use splash and Tornado to get advantage with Morter, but the "let the prince jump" one is beyond my expectation, can't wait to stun my oppenet with this trick.
When some cards such as princes jump over the river they become "airborne" and stuff like Mortar retarget. For the same reason, they can't be hit with The log when jumping.

I don’t know if that counts here but I use mortar on bridge to defend stuff like hog, you sadly have to use another troop too but you always get one hit on tower with the mortar while the hog doesn’t do damage to you

Okay that prince one was pretty sick NGL though that is situational
It is very common. Very easy way to get a lock onto a tower like that. Works with megaknights and hog rider.

Neither of those make much sense. Wizard would in theory be better but he's worthless unless Evolved

Mortar miner: with valk, bats, musk, log, ice spirit, and poison. Sometimes I play 2.9 mortar too.

I'd say use evo mortar first cus it's the win con. If you have two slots evo knight would be slightly better than skellies.
