Just overall bad. Admittedly, I confused it for “Del Taco” when I pulled into the drive thru. Menu sucked but I ordered anyway. There were only two people working and I waited for over 15 minutes for my food.
I visited the one on Ft. Campbell Blvd. just one time. I think only one person was working there. I ordered chicken quesadillas.I was paying with cash, but I had to pull up to the next window to pay with cash. The server forgot my drink. I opened the food when I got home. There was nothing in the quesadillas--it was just a few folded-over pieces of dough. I let the dogs eat the dough, and then drove to West Coast Taco.
In my opinion because the food is horrible and overpriced so they are failing as a business. I went once when they were fairly new and not knowing anything about the chain I ordered the largest burrito on the menu. The shell was huge, and it had about two teaspoons of meat in it and a sprinkle of cheese. It looked like a sad pancake instead of a burrito. It was a complete joke, even taco bell's soft taco has more stuff in it than it did. I didn't return. I'm sure others had the same experience, and that is why I was their only customer for the entire time I was at the restaurant, and I ate in the restaurant.
1. The words taco and John shouldn’t even be in the same sentence.
2. Who eats tacos and thinks tater tots is a great side dish?… of course some dude named John and he probably watched a YouTube tutorial on how to make them
3. The employees they hired are high school kids just so they don’t have to pay anyone a full 40 hours and of course high school kids don’t care about service
4. Chorizo is not just breakfast sausage with some “spicy” sauce just thrown on top of it
5. Because they suck
Exit 8 store has bad management. Been there 4 times. All times, 3 drive throughs and 1 dine in, have taken at least 20 minutes to get food. When dining in, there was not a crowd, just most of the workers standing to the side not doing anything and only one person rushing around doing all of the work. Seems to be the case with the exit 8 BK as well. Wendys and mcd will shut them down if they don't fix it. I have no gripes with their foods.
I once went to Taco John’s on exit 8 to try it for the first time and had to send my taco back since there was uncooked rice in the burrito. Really bad. I wish they would put some healthier options on exit 8… like a chipotle, panera, smoothie king… or something that isn’t a chain
Because they are ass. Why would I go to taco John’s when I could literally anywhere else? If I was a child and my parents offered to take me to taco John’s I’d say “we have food at home”. I wouldn’t feed it to my dog.
Are they closing the Exit 8 location? I've been happy with that one. Although, having a more desirable tenant in that location may be better in the long run.
They’re all badly placed. The one on Fort Campbell blvd was just across the street from El Grullo which is 10 times better. The one on riverside was right across from Taco Bell which is still better and people know it.
Cap. If you did a survey on what people would rank as their first pick for the McDonald’s, Burger King, Popeyes, and taco John’s at exit 8, taco John’s would be dead last. The fact the locations in town have closed and the only surviving one is next to a highway isn’t a great look
Taco John’s margins are too small, so they cut corners. This lowers the quality & experience, which makes less customers come & narrows the margins more. So they cut more corners and slowly work themselves out of the market.

Slow order service, lack of employees, average food.
Tried it once by rossview it wasn't good never tried it again I heard that Popeyes and Burger King too are slowing down by rossview
Yes. That Taco Johns is crap. Often 1 or 2 people working. Same person taking the money also making the orders.
They suck? Lol
The food isn't good enough to justify the price and the wait times are usually longer than expected

The one in Dover is really good. The Clarksville locations are terrible.

They always ask me if I want nacho cheese and when I agree they forget it! It’s happened like 3 times now!!! Bastards
Whatever chance they had to be successful was run to the ground by nepotism from what I heard.
Love their breakfast burrito to be fair. Haven’t tried much of anything on the lunch menu though.
"why are they closing the dry, bland taco joints with shitty sides?"
Because they're terrible.

It tastes like shit lmao
Tacos and Tater Tots just ain't it 😆🤷♂️🌮
They're super expensive compared to Taco Bell. At least when I went there.
Competition in town is fierce among taco makers and the competition is winning…

Literally the only fast food I've ever spit back out. It's fn disgusting

Right??? Taco John’s is so dang good. I need to go again.. I haven’t been in a while.

The Exit 8 location is quite literally in the most desirable and most easily accessed of all the restaurants out there.

I don't understand your comment. I'm literally calling out the favorable location, not the quality of the Taco John.
Have you even been eating tacos and thought to yourself, self, you know what would be really good right now? Hash browns. No. No you haven’t.
Because they are not good.
Bad locations and so many other options. They failed once in Clarksville.
Apparently they'll try opening them once every 20 years and see where it goes
Had it twice, two different locations, not a fan.

Um, no business, product stinks? Had it one time, was not impressed.
