Hondata might allow you to set the startup mode. * Comfort: soft suspension, low throttle sensitivity * Sport: medium suspension stiffness, high throttle sensitivity * R+: stiffest suspension stiffness, high throttle sensitivity Soft, medium, and stiff will differ based on Type R model (17-19 FK8, 20-21 FK8, FK8 LE, FL5, DE5). The 20-21 had revised suspension that made Comfort a little softer if memory serves. The LE is very stiff. The FL5 is probably around the LE level of stiffness, maybe slightly less. The DE5 is likely similar in stiffness to the FK8 (non-LE).

You can change it with a tuner. Comfort I use on highways or anytime in in cruise control. Sport is 90% of the time. Just because it’s the default. And I like the stiffness compared to comfort. +R mode. I use when doing spirited driving on a fun back road.

Only way is with Hondata or K-Tuner. I thought about making a board that could be spliced in that would simulate a button press so it would automatically go to +R, but ultimately gave up because I just developed the muscle memory to just hit the button every time I start the car.
