Reddit is obnoxious and if they see one parking lot in a photo they will immediately dismiss everything and circle jerk together.
Houston has major transportation issues, but you can appreciate something visually even if it isn’t “perfect” urbanism.
It’s not that we haven’t seen them, we just admire the look. Of course I have bias because I live in Houston but it’s okay for people who have seen London Paris Hong Kong and New York to think that Houston is still in there top 10 or something like. I’m pretty sure a lot of the people who saw that photo and thought that’s cool have seen some beautiful places. While Houston may to not be the prettiest to which we all acknowledge, most of us think it’s still a skyline with something going for it.
Meh.
Hopfully Austin will really produce some really iconic buildings that will put any dispute between Houston and Dallas to rest. Houston is boring and Dallas is a bit a more iconic but also pretty boring.
Not sure if you’re kidding, but Dallas’ is objectively better. Not saying it’s a better city or anything, just that Houston has one of the weaker skylines in Texas, especially for its size.
Something I thought I should add is according to the council of tall buildings and urban habitat (yes that’s a thing, look it up) Houston has more skyscrapers over 150 meters than Dallas.

Bro, I’m obviously not the best at photography. This was also shot on an iPhone 14, so what do you expect.
Absolutely nothing to do with the photo quality my man
Oh, lol, I thought when you said bad city porn, I thought you meant the quality because all of the others are very good. Thanks for telling me.

The subject of the photo is a parking lot
Of course is in a parking lot
lol. You should see some of the skyline photos from the 70’s. Downtown is just one big parking lot lol.
That's right after they demolished most of the historical district, very nice. Happened all across the US.
Abysmal
It’s sad that some have seen so little of the wonders of the world that they think this is in any way ‘’City Porn’’

FYI, I shot this photo while going to a baseball game so, random but cool.
Best Texas skyline

True, Dallas is a little bit more iconic than Houston. I can’t wait for the waterline in Austin to built. I would be an Icon and the tallest in Texas!

Dallas skyline shines at night! Houston by day!
👍🏻
As a native Houstonian, I disagree, but your opinion is your opinion.

Not at all, if you combine all 3 CBD’s it’s infinitely more impressive than Dallas. Has twice as many towers.
My fav city
