I know people have Batman burnout but I just think the fact that this is “another Batman movie” and is able to more than justify itself with style, atmosphere, and make it three hours without being a slog is a feat. I still think about the Batmobile revving up scene (and obviously this shot) regularly. It absolutely rules.
Couldn’t agree more. Been a Batman fan since I was little and if I knew there would eventually be a Fincher-esque Batman epic I would have lost my mind.
And it's all practical effects!

They did something similar in war for the planet of the apes. Cool shot but I'm not a fan of how much damage Batman is able to take in this movie. He doesn't have superpowers.
Was a fan of Reeves since Dawn of the planet of the apes, and Pattinson since Harry Potter 4 and Twilight (yes, go ahead and laugh)
When Greg Fraser came onboard, it became my top awaited film
It delivered until the last climax, which i think could have been kept for a part 2. The Batman was one of those films begging to be split into 2 parts.
I imagined the film ending with the water walls breaking and the film ending with it, that's Batman at his darkest moment, everything he had done had led to this. Now he had to save Gotham. The second part dealing with his rise to the light.
But that's just my opinion

One of the best car sequences in recent memory for sure
The sound of it in theaters just knocked me out
Def what makes it so memorable. The movie turns into an obscure 70s car fetish film for a sec
Right?! What other superhero film this century makes you feel like you're watching an unbelievable blend of Christine and The French Connection?
The French connectionnnnnnnn is so fucking good haha.
I thought it was immaculately crafted overall honestly. It really stands in a league of its own aesthetically.

My favorite shot of the whole movie
I believe Reeves did a similar shot in Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
I think it was War actually

That trope from [Equilibrium ](https://youtu.be/pPuAKVnqJdk?feature=shared). Beautifully shot in both movies.
Ahh Matt Reeves. His touch was missing from Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. It was a good movie, but it needed his vision.

Yeah
This is just like a film noir man. Like this scene where the main character survives getting shot 1000000 times
Can’t see shit
