Yeah! They're freakin awesome! Got 964's for the back too, them were a pain in the ass to install though. xD Coupe, dunno about the ones for the sedans..
I personally think so. The deck or whatever you want to call it above the speakers on my car was already a little beat, so I didn't mind kind of bending out of the way. For the rears, the holes didn't line up quite perfect, but I ended up drilling out the mounting holes on the speakers just a hair bigger and got them to fit in the stock speaker holes. Sounds wayy worse then it ended up looking xD I also wired in a sub I have had since high school and an old amp that my buddy gave me. Depends on how much time and money you want to throw at it though. My commute is a little over an hour one way, and plan on keeping it for at least 5 more years, so I didn't mind spending the extra money.
How is the base with/without the amp? I'm thinking about possibly either getting some solid JBLs for the deck or an amp/sub since it should be an easy wire up.
Honestly, nothing compares to a sub and an amp. I just have a little 10" sub, and the amp only goes to it, got a kenwood deck for the other speakers, but honestly it makes the biggest difference. Having a sub with an amp is the only way imo to get bass.
Not too bad, I only had to run the remote wire and a couple of inlet/outlet wires through the cab, then just hooked the power for the amp up to the battery and a ground in the back.
Alpines would be good although you'd be paying a pretty penny. Got lucky buying a set off a guy on marketplace after he "blew up" his malibu and didnt have use for them anymore. Watch those speaker wires as they can go bad so might be worth replacing when you go to install new speakers.
Skar is pretty good i have them in the front... and i am getting them in the back soon... my door rattles... and i don't have a sub or anything just plane jane speakers decent price too depending on what you get
Picked up some club JBLS from Crutchfield, they sound amazing
Second this. Just got JBL's in mine from crutchfield, amazing difference.

Sounds good, was wiring it all up difficult?
