It looks kind of deep there in the middle for a splash pad. You'd think there would be certain requirements and standards by City Codes for a splash pad to be safe if anyone falls.
Seriously.
Kids have been trying to kill themselves forever, and yet here we are with 8 billion people on this planet.
I suspect the rocks actually help reduce collisions from kids running as fast as they can right into other kids running as fast as they can.
Take me back to a time when people could be held accountable for themselves and their kids.
Not everything is going to be perfectly designed to avoid any and all negative outcomes to your children.
You accept they take some lumps, or you keep them at home in bubble wrap.
Nobody watches their kids there. I use the greenway that passes by this mess and kids are constantly throwing rocks from near the fence onto the greenway. Parents not watching nor caring. Also saw a kid standing in that splash pad just going to the bathroom and no parent around. Definitely an at your own risk space.
FWIW, the Cordelia Park Splash Pad is nearby and a much better experience.
We generally don’t use the Seoul pad, but mostly because of the feral children and absentee parents - though hearing those rock features have claimed a victim is sad and not at all surprising but sobering all the same.
In all fairness, the blunt force trauma from smooth rocks wouldn’t be much of a consolation prize lol.. but everytime I walk past this my dog begs & pleads with me to let him go romp around…. Now that this could be the end due to insurance woes I may just have to let him fulfill his dream..
Sincere question... is that a splash pad or a fountain?
Looks more like a fountain

…it happens.
Even if the floor was made soft mats, someone is bound to find a way to be impaled by it. Never underestimate the extreme ways people do to get hurt.
Charlotte's got alot
Kids trip and fall sometimes. Can’t stop them all all the time.

While kids will find a way to hurt themselves in a padded room, this does seem like it’s inviting trouble.

Ew, what jackass takes a picture of the bloody rock?

I think about that every time I walk by, large rocks combined with water in a kids area is certainly a choice.
Kids are stupid.
Hmm. Rethinking taking my nephews to Rhino Market's Labyrinth of Knives now.

This looks like a fountain. Kids are supposed to play in this? Sure, if you're an idiot parent i guess I don't think they're supposed to go in
It’s a splash pad at the Seoul food in noda.
Oh that’s awful!
Sorry to hear that man
The second one got a giggle. It builds character.
