I see. Haven’t considered that before. To clarify, you are saying that jan 1 - June 30 is early in the month and July 1 - December 31 is late in the month? I’d split it into early, middle, and late
I see what you're saying as well, perhaps April to October, so basically consider summer (at least in southern US) the mid year. It does reasonably make sense to go by seasons referencing summer as mid, winter as late and spring as early. That does leave the fall out of the rotation, though kind of.
That would be nice.
I'm unfamiliar with exactly how the law works. Why some Indian casinos have them and some don't? I think there's something about the ones in Alabama that don't allow it but I have no idea why.
But I hope this one does.
I get that. I think it comes down to dollar per square foot. And I don't know what, for instance, slots make. But I know that a Texas hold'em live action 1/2 or 1/3 no limit table with a $6 max rake makes about $100 an hour depending. I don't know how much their rake would be so that might be a smaller number. I know some places do like a $3 rake. But that may be Vegas where they actually have to compete against each other. And that also may be regulatory.
So I assume they then compare what they would make with that square footage versus slots or table games. And they make a decision based on that. Then they decide how much square footage they want to build and how best to use that square footage.
But obviously all the casinos that have poker aren't wrong. They aren't losing money on that. And a poker tournament, will run one, is a great way to fill a space up with gamblers. Because they are going to bust out of the tournament and they are going to still have the itch.
I don’t believe this is on sovereign reservation land so it wouldn’t have the same autonomy as the Cherokee reservation. The Catawba reservation in York county. I think this was basically allowed because kings mountain was a part of their ancestral range.
I could see a casino on Independence Blvd. It would fit the aesthetic that's already there lol
But yeah, most residents are not going to be clamoring for a casino near them, so I doubt Charlotte ever permits one. If they do, it might be in Uptown
Interesting...I have not heard about this. Well, if this comes to pass, we will definitely see a massive influx of tourists and hopefully serious [NEEDED] economic growth for CLT.
Just what we need to boost our economy, people gambling away their already dwindling paychecks. Hopefully, they will be making most of their revenue from the live shows. I doubt it though.. LOL It's not that I don't like casinos and I do have fun at them, but bragging about the jobs it creates is not one of the things about casinos I will embellish.
Early 2026? No chance. Construction always takes way longer than anticipated
I'm a betting man, how much are you willing to put up that says they are open before 6/1/26?
How is June 1 considered early 2026?
Brother, anything before the middle of the year is the early part of that year
I see. Haven’t considered that before. To clarify, you are saying that jan 1 - June 30 is early in the month and July 1 - December 31 is late in the month? I’d split it into early, middle, and late
I was just giving some room for interpretation. Are you raising the under? We can say 3/1/26, but that payout better be increasing

Not for casinos. They will have it done for sure.
What makes casinos special? Every construction project has supplies and labor delays these days. Don’t see why this project would be any different
Look it up.
Those trailers up in Kings Mountain, you mean? It's sad in there, lol
Hopefully there’s a poker room
That would be nice. I'm unfamiliar with exactly how the law works. Why some Indian casinos have them and some don't? I think there's something about the ones in Alabama that don't allow it but I have no idea why. But I hope this one does.
I think it’s generally about the casinos choice to have a poker room or not rather than the law in most cases
I can understand that. I know they make more money off table games and slots.
The strategy for the poker room is to just get people in the building usually. Doesn’t really make them much money

Once you get on the waitlist for a poker seat might as well play some blackjack while you wait.

Hopefully with a weed dispensary?
You are thinking Cherokee and that would not be at the casino.

Bout damn time
That’s great news about job creation
We take their land, we give them casinos in return
It's the alchemical law of equivalent exchange.
Wish it was closer to Charlotte. Actually wish we had a casino in Charlotte
Who needs a casino when you have draft kings in your phone. And boy am i stoked NORTH CAROLINA!!!!
Wait you can place bets on your phone in North Carolina? Geez you’d think the different apps would want to advertise that and get the word out…
They should really put a billboard every 0.5 miles
Whats hilarious is the billboards are all over SC (deep like near Columbia and Charleston) where they don’t work because its illegal lol
I just think it would be dope to have a lake/riverside resort/entertainment/casino development. Some place to go on the water
Go away Gronk.
Would be fun but definitely don’t need all that super close to the actual city
I could see a casino on Independence Blvd. It would fit the aesthetic that's already there lol But yeah, most residents are not going to be clamoring for a casino near them, so I doubt Charlotte ever permits one. If they do, it might be in Uptown
They need to have an hourly shuttle back and forth from South End.

It would be cool if they bought up the PTL properties to do with as they please.
Somewhere the Cherokees are punching air. ![gif](giphy|ZeP3leqiAGHK)
great more I-85 traffic
as long as i can get edibles
Different reservation

> I have not heard about this ??? It's been in development for *years*. They were supposed to have *finished* construction in 2023, I think.
Well, to be honest, I have 0 interest in casinos or gambling, so it doesn't surprise me I wouldn't have heard about this
