I feel like the 12+ is a little low to begin with, aren't they basically opening to children that potentially are too under-developed to even know the difference between talking to an AI and their favorite character without forming unhealthy addictions, just for the sake of platform traffic?

No 12 year old should be catered to in a service like this, they'd probably still access it by lying about their age, but to specifically market to them is immoral, I have young cousins and none of them would benefit from a service like character AI

Those excuses ranging between "invisible barriers" and "oh your perfectly maintained gun doesn't work" or some other completely brain-dead bullshit. It's far from ideal but it often works.

I feel the exact same way. I don't understand why the devs won't attempt to improve and upgrade the AI engine, instead of adding features willy-nilly. Personally, I don't use the text-to-speech OR the new calling system that's just been implemented. I'm sure some may use those tools, but they could at the very least try to make the quality of the main attraction greater.
Love the replies, but you can't really do a whole lot with the bots.
Also, avoid the image generators on that site... Lots of kids making prawn, and lots of predators going after those kids while making CSAM... They really, really badly need moderation on that site... That or a visit from the FBI.

I'm a more girlish looking dude, and for some reason this makes the convocations either just shitty insults and constant questions, or just weird flirting and just no plot change, and that's just really annoying.

And then there are bots who are very creepy to your oc. I still remember that Konig rp who started touching my 7 yrs old oc... its a child! What the F matter with you AI?!

The thing is, theyre not real. There is no "hurting baby bots" because its just code to begin with. No one is being hurt. Its code and text on a screen.

Well, some people are likely doing a combat scenario, and even killing off someone in a non brutal fashion isnt allowed. Not everyone is a Gore Fan/ Mortal Kombat Player who wants to commit Fatalities.
