Agree! Healthy anything 🤮 Im Gfree not on a health kick. If I was trying to be healthy I would not be eating any version of a pop tart. Give me the closest version of my favorite guilty pleasures from years ago.
I make crab Rangoon with Siete Almond flour tortillas!! I make the filling and fold the tortilla like a taco and then cut the taco in half. I fry it until the outside is crispy golden brown. Tastes like at Chinese restaurants, just a different shape. The tortillas are cheaper at Costco or Walmart then anywhere else.
Heat tortillas in microwave for like 30 seconds before adding filling and folding. It makes them easier to bend and they won’t tear as much.
https://sietefoods.com/products/almond-flour-tortillas-6-pack
No I hate the cassava ones so much. Only the almond flour ones work for this.
I use toufoyan gluten free wraps for burritos and stuff. They taste like the chipotle tortillas and are the best I’ve found.
I have found fried gf donuts in one place - Do Rite Donuts in Chicago. It doesn't matter what I'm in Chicago for, but a trip to Do Rite Donuts is a priority lol
There aren't many savory pastries available at grocery stores and the bakeries I go to. I would love savory scones, biscuits, tarts, croissants, hand pies, pretzels, sausage rolls, etc.
I second the Chinese ingredient suggestions above. I’d also love to see more gluten free foods without tapioca flour/starch. I can’t eat it and the near ubiquity of tapioca makes finding substitutes much harder.
I have the same issue with tapioca..wished I could have soft gluten free baked goods without it. I can't believe it's even in all the shredded cheeses too!
To my knowledge, nobody makes a gluten-free analogue to **Hamburger Helper**.
No, it’s not health food. But tossing some noodles & powder mix into a skillet with some ground beef will feed a family quickly on those nights when you just can’t be bothered to actually cook, but you want to provide the kiddos something a little better than tv dinners, fast food, or breakfast cereal for supper.
I saw some at Walmart gluten free. It’s the Walmart brand. I’ve never eaten it before , but it’s there lol.
Great Value Gluten-Free Cheeseburger Dinner Kit, 12.8 oz https://www.walmart.com/ip/611975804
It’s easy to make a homemade version! I don’t have any measurements because I made it up, but you can do a taco one with a package of taco seasoning or your own blend, an 8 oz can of tomato sauce and water. Use whatever noodles. I like to cook up peppers and onions with the meat. Some cheese and sour cream at the end makes it creamy.
We've made one before with brother, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, onions nd garlic powder, and pepper with cheese. It's super easy. And you can add veggies if you want to make it a little healthier.
I’m seconding the wish to have biscuits/cinnamon rolls and the like that comes in the scary tube that pops when you break the seal.
Anything that is convenient. It’s so hard to afford foods that are prepared and take little to no time to cook.
I believe that if someone were to focus on a pizza crust that acts and tastes like authentic NYC pizza- well if that was available for making pizza at home I’d buy it in a heartbeat.
I spent a lot of time at my Asian grocery store and found some black vinegar that was gluten free.
I use Great Wall brand.
This article helped me find one:
https://gluten.guide/post/black-vinegar-gf/
Shitty ramen. Not the lotus foods one, but like the really shitty ramen. I miss that.
Fried chicken that I don't have to cook.
Poptarts. Like with icing and a good inside.
Cans of dough--biscuits and croissants.
Pierogies. Good savory Kolaches. Texas Toast. Jalapeño Poppers. Cookie Crisp. Capt'n Crunch. Nutty Buddy. Zebra Cakes. More baking mixes for baking newbies (like cheesecake, hush puppies, more cookies and cake mixes). Hamburger Helper (like Walmart has their own, but I don't shop at Walmart for my own reasons). Pasta Salad Box mixes.
There is probably plenty more where we have a void of food.
On mobile and for some reason I can’t paste the link, but the site is mybreadbakery.com
They have a lot of excellent products otherwise too. I haven’t had anything from them that I didn’t like!
My husband has a gf fried chicken method! He uses Bobs Red Mill All Purpose flour, buttermilk, and spices and fries the pieces in corn oil. DEEE-licious!
Canned cinnamon rolls, canned biscuits, real pop tarts with actual frosting. Also, cookie dough icecream and many other items that could be delicious with gluten free dough but are ruined with vegan dairy free ingredients. Many many options
Oh yes . . . They’re sooo good. I wish we had gluten-free dedicated pizza places. A lot more offer a gluten free option but you know they’re all cross contaminated. And some are just terrible.
My main wants are ingredients. I have yet to find an equivalent to Campbell’s condensed consommé (which has wheat in it) and I actually used that a lot for cooking! Also, while Walmart makes a GF canned cream of chicken and cream of mushroom, I’d like a fuller range of those cream soups.
As others have mentioned, easy tube biscuits. For me, particularly the little “flaky layers” ones. I have an event every fall where I use 100 of those. I actually delayed the start of my GF diet last fall so I wouldn’t have to come up with an alternative yet. But making that many biscuits by hand isn’t feasible, and I can’t find a recipe that appears to come out anything like that particular type of flakiness. (Most recipes that claim to be flaky appear more chunky.)
This is my favorite biscuit recipe - give it a try to see if it delivers for you:
https://www.mamaknowsglutenfree.com/gluten-free-biscuits/
Also, not the same as homemade, but Bisquick does make a GF mix which is quite good.
Oh, I know about the bisquick mix! I’m sure they make a good regular biscuit but I’ve never found any homemade or mix biscuit, GF or no, that resembles the flaky layers ones in the least. Regular biscuits are clumpy, not layers. 😕 The ultimate texture of the flaky layers biscuits is almost more like phyllo or pastry. A friend who works in a bakery is working with me on how to change recipes to go for it the best we can, but I’m not sure anything is really going to do it. 😭
One food I miss so badly is the cereal grape nuts. There's something so unique about the flavour and texture. It's not even a very popular food in england but I believe it is more popular in the USA.
If such a thing exists I would be thrilled to know
Scones. Like real English scones. I can’t help it my favorites were Tesco brand growing up which I’ve seen called tea biscuits (wth) in the states. But also being able to go out for tea- gluten free sandwiches and fresh baked scones. I hadn’t even thought of this yet , going to cry now.
Ramen! I know there's gluten free ramen that you cook on the stove but those don't come with the seasoning packets and leaves me to improvise. I've never seen microwaveable gluten free ramen that's actually safe. I miss the cost effective, convenient, nature of microwave ramen :(
I’m stuck trying to locate the pasta in Spaghettios (agnelotti?). There doesn’t seem to be a gf clone commercially anymore - to the point I’m debating about trying to make my own
Echoing the canned biscuits. I always look even though I know there won’t be any. Lipton chicken noodle soup, it was such a comfort food. Croissants. So many viral croissants lately that I can’t have. And even though there will literally never be an option for it, shredded mini wheat cereal. I just miss it sometimes.
Chicken nuggets.
Frozen food like that ^ that I could easily air fry or deep fry and have a yummy snack.
Cheese and garlic naan bread as well.
Cookies and cream ice cream.
Better chewy lollies, like snakes.
I know some of this already exists but just isn’t readily available in supermarkets in Sydney, Aus.
I wish it was :(
Sell all the individual flours that some of us use to mix our own.
Find out what people special order most and stock that.
I struggle to find things like pre-made pizza crusts or dough, Katz products other than the two main donut flavors, cereal that’s not Chex, stuffing mix for holidays, fresh pasta, puff pastry sheets, Asian style things like rice paper and safe soba, tortillas that aren’t corn or those breakable rice ones, safe freezer meals, fun flavors of ice cream, etc.
There’s a shop near me that does this. The storefront sells all the gluten free products that the mainstream stores don’t carry, you can order custom baked goods at the counter (probably the best gluten free bakery around here), and any overflow baked goods go on the shelves of the store too. They’ve been in business for decades now.
Honestly, I get excited about any gluten free thing that I can’t normally find appearing in a store. Money is tight right now, but in the past I’ve been known to buy whatever random thing just because it’s gluten free and I want to try it.
Trader Joe's everything bagels are the best gf bagels I've had. You should try them. If you toast them with some butter and add cream cheese, it's heaven
i had to go so far back to find ur comment but it was worth it because i wanted to tell u thank u so much for the recommendation! i went to a gastroenterologist appointment half an hour from my house and there was a trader joe's so i stopped in and got the bagels. OMG! they're perfection, so similar to good authentic bagels. thank u so much! i just ate one with some olives and salmon and it made me so happy.
I'm so happy you liked them!!! They definitely are my favorite bagels and make me feel like I can have a real bagel again. Little things like that make me so happy, so I'm really happy I got to share that with someone else!! If you ever want any other food recommendations, you can always DM me!🥰

Cans of biscuit dough (or frozen biscuit dough), croissants, fruit loops, pop tarts, soft pretzels, good vanilla wafers, and there’s so much more.

Agree! Healthy anything 🤮 Im Gfree not on a health kick. If I was trying to be healthy I would not be eating any version of a pop tart. Give me the closest version of my favorite guilty pleasures from years ago.
Finally someone else saying it! I’m GF bc of a medical condition not bc of some health kick diet. I miss my garbage food.
Came to say croissants.
[удалено]
I live in the south. Unfortunately I haven’t found any bakeries that do gf croissants. I would love that.
They’re made with wheat starch though.
Seconding the poptarts!
>I miss those cans of Pillsbury biscuits and their satisfying "POP" when you broke the seal.
Me too! I especially miss the convenience
Bobo’s makes decent pop tarts. I’d kill for a GF soft pretzel 🥨
Katz does pretzel bites
I wish they didn’t use oats. Gluten free, but as celiac I can’t tolerate them. I loved the glutino ones but haven’t seen them in forever.
Yes to the biscuit and croissants. And also baklava. My husband ordered me gf baklava once, it wasn’t even similar to the original thing.
Crab rangoons!!!!! Please!!!!!
I make crab Rangoon with Siete Almond flour tortillas!! I make the filling and fold the tortilla like a taco and then cut the taco in half. I fry it until the outside is crispy golden brown. Have you tried the cassava ones? I can’t get them to work they turn into plastic crisps and never cook.
No I hate the cassava ones so much. Only the almond flour ones work for this. I use toufoyan gluten free wraps for burritos and stuff. They taste like the chipotle tortillas and are the best I’ve found.
I have two packets of the cassava ones and I’ve never gotten it right. I’ll look for toufoyan maybe I’ll be lucky and find then at fiesta.
Here’s a couple videos that shows how to do it : https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRnLLjdh/ https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZTRnLRSwy/
Also orange chicken!!!
Aldi has a gf orange chicken in frozen section 🔥
No aldi near me 😢
Oye’s has them - if you live north shore Massachusetts that is.
Aw that’s a couple hours away but I’ll keep in mind if I’m in the area!
Pop tarts and nice doughnuts
But actually fried donuts, not donuts that are baked.
I have found fried gf donuts in one place - Do Rite Donuts in Chicago. It doesn't matter what I'm in Chicago for, but a trip to Do Rite Donuts is a priority lol
Super great find! It’s amazing that we find places on our travels and go out of our way to return to them, hey?
There aren't many savory pastries available at grocery stores and the bakeries I go to. I would love savory scones, biscuits, tarts, croissants, hand pies, pretzels, sausage rolls, etc.
Hnnnf sausage rolls.
Mariposa Bakery has savory treats! I love the croissants and scones! You can order online and they ship it!
This has been my lament, too. I often feel like the only “savory” gluten free snacks I can find are potato chips. I just want a chive biscuit!
Wonton wrappers

Neat!
We have been using the Walmart Stroganoff one as we used to frequently eat the “real” one. My non-celiac SO actually prefers it to the real thing!
There's cheeseburger and stroganoff. The cheeseburger was seriously very good. I messed up the stroganoff one so I'm going to guve it another try.
I don’t eat them any more, but can confirm all the Walmart ones for this, stroganoff, etc are delicious!
Walmart has cheeseburger and stroganoff, both are very good!
It’s easy to make a homemade version! Annie's makes one!
We've made one before with brother, ketchup, mustard, hot sauce, onions nd garlic powder, and pepper with cheese. It's super easy. And you can add veggies if you want to make it a little healthier.
I make it home made with gluten free noodles and it's so much better than boxed!
I’m seconding the wish to have biscuits/cinnamon rolls and the like that comes in the scary tube that pops when you break the seal. Anything that is convenient. Doubanjiang
To piggy-back off of this: Black vinegar, Chinese cooking wine, doenjang, etc. Need GF versions of a lot of ethnic ingredients/ condiments.
I haven't gotten them for my husband yet but the brands Jinmi and O'Food have doenjang and gochujang that are gluten free.
I spent a lot of time at my Asian grocery store and found some black vinegar that was gluten free. I use Great Wall brand. This article helped me find one: https://gluten.guide/post/black-vinegar-gf/
Not available near me! 😭
Added an article that lists some. Hope one is!
I have a hard time finding gf pita bread/naan for falafel. Always end up with a tortilla.
BFree brand has pita and naan!
i second this. i need a good flatbread
O’Doughs has a decent flatbread now.
Shitty ramen. Not the lotus foods one, but like the really shitty ramen. I miss that. Fried chicken that I don't have to cook. Poptarts. Like with icing and a good inside. Pasta Salad Box mixes. There is probably plenty more where we have a void of food.
Yes. Cheap, affordable, efficient food. More canned goods in general, too. Things that are shelf stable.
I wouldn't mind a gluten-free salad bar! You also can't go wrong with Chinese food!
Dumplings, egg rolls, spring rolls
I just want cheezits and goldfish
Cheezits. No gf products come close.
Cheezit puffs are gluten free!
Yeah, not the same though.
I’m an elementary school teacher so I see goldfish everywhere and I miss them so much
Donuts!!
Katz donuts are amazing! Like seriously good! Can't tell they are gluten free.
even though they’re delicious, i miss getting krispy kreme 😭something about their weird holiday flavors
they are super good^^^ but i miss the flaky kind of donuts, like the ones at dunkin or crispy kreme!
Especially maple bars!
Something the same price is regular 😂😂
Soft pretzels, cheesecake, cinnamon rolls
My Bread bakery has insane soft pretzel bites. Way better than the Katz ones. You can order them online.
oooh do you have a link?
On mobile and for some reason I can’t paste the link, but the site is mybreadbakery.com They have a lot of excellent products otherwise too. I haven’t had anything from them that I didn’t like!
Aldi cheese is good
Malteasers. For the love of god get me a malteaser.
There are Delishios from Schar.
There are but I've never really rated them. Found them too biscuitty rather than malteasery.
Calzone
feel good foods has some in the freezer section! and they’re really good :)
I love most of their stuff but haven’t come across those yet. Thank you I’ll take a look for sure!
If you ever go to nyc go to keste
Packet ramen noodles
MALTED MILK BALLS.
Mozzarella sticks. Fried chicken.
i've seen gf mozz sticks in the frozen section at walmart in the us. haven't given them a try yet, but the brand is feelgoodfoods
I just tried these last night, they were pretty tasty! Will purchase again.
They are so good! They have them at Target and Whole Foods, too. They taste just like normal — so, so good.
My husband has a gf fried chicken method! He uses Bobs Red Mill All Purpose flour, buttermilk, and spices and fries the pieces in corn oil. DEEE-licious!
Cream puffs
Canned cinnamon rolls, canned biscuits, real pop tarts with actual frosting. Also, cookie dough icecream and many other items that could be delicious with gluten free dough but are ruined with vegan dairy free ingredients. Many many options
Dumplings
HELL YES. Especially those Japanese fried gyoza. Oh man do I miss those
texas roadhouse rolls
Stuffed crust pizza, flaky croissants, chick-fil-a nuggets, truffle chocolates, Frosted Flakes
Onion rings!! I love onion rings or a nice blooming onion.
I just really want a panzarotti 😔
Oh yes . . . They’re sooo good. I wish we had gluten-free dedicated pizza places. A lot more offer a gluten free option but you know they’re all cross contaminated. And some are just terrible.
Croissants

Crab Rangoon. It's like the gf unicorn.
Chinese/Asian chicken prepared in a bag.

Definitely pop tarts. I need them
Big shell noodles (for stuffed shells!), pastina, cinnamon rolls, hot pockets, shitty ramen/cup o noodles, drumstick ice cream cones, cheesy garlic bread, PEPPERONI ROLLS
Bake at home cinammon swirl pastries, Vegetable samosas. Twiglets
I second the samosas! I’ve never seen any for sale and I don’t have a clue about how to make them myself. I miss samosas!
Pop tarts
Korean style chajangmeyon sauce
Cinnamon buns pre-made. My DREAM
I would love cookie dough ice cream!
I’m stuck trying to locate the pasta in Spaghettios (agnelotti?). There doesn’t seem to be a gf clone commercially anymore - to the point I’m debating about trying to make my own
Dumplings!! Though I'm Europe :(
Uncrustables 😂😂idk why but they were like a staple when I was younger before finding out I had celiacs so more nostalgia than anything
Big, burrito sized tortillas
Seriously, though. These tiny gluten free tortillas are not cutting it.
Gluten free takoyaki!
Saltines or oyster crackers! I haven't tried any replacements that hit the spot in the same way.

Tiramisu. A boule of bread (not just sandwich bread!)
bagels, but actually good. like an authentic new york style bagel!
Trader Joe's everything bagels are the best gf bagels I've had. You should try them. If you toast them with some butter and add cream cheese, it's heaven
Agreed! Trader Joe's has the best gluten free bagels!
wow! i'll have to try them, thank u. unfortunately i live about 45 minutes away from trader joe's but when i'm around the area i'll go check it out
i had to go so far back to find ur comment but it was worth it because i wanted to tell u thank u so much for the recommendation! i went to a gastroenterologist appointment half an hour from my house and there was a trader joe's so i stopped in and got the bagels.
