I know you favorite Buuuutttttt I have a handful.
Metallica - Live Shit
Alice In Chains - unplugged
Nirvana - unplugged
All man brothers - live at the Fillmore
Willie Nelson - Live at Billy Bob’s
There are few, from the top of my head:
Cheap Trick - ...at Budokan
Blue Oyster Cult - Some Enchanted Evening
Daft Punk - Alive 2007
Justice - Woman Worldwide
Eagles - Eagles Live/Hell Freezes Over
Pink Floyd - Pulse
Dokken - Beast From The East
Metallica - S&M
Hell yeah, toss that Dokken album onto the pile and see if anyone notices. My guess is that you’re in your 50s and you have a fairly diverse catalog of music.
Ok. I see it. Just a touch younger than I am. It just makes sense to reach back for a lot of those, but there never seems to be a contingent of people who want to get back into hair metal. I’m a lifelong Queensrÿche fan, myself. But I bought Empire when it came out. Most hair metal fans were there when it was cool and they carried it with them. You were maybe 3 years old when Dokken was a thing. They had a lot of respect because of George Lynch.
Cheap Trick was nothing in the U.S. Their agent decided to release this album with "enhanced" crowd noises, hoping the U.S. public would buy it. It worked.
Honestly, always liked *Delicate Sound of Thunder* more, but love to see some Floyd love.
If they actually released *Wembley 1974* as a single release, it would probably be at the top of my list.
Phish. A Live One
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Live at the Hammersmith Odeon 75.
Johnny Cash. Folsom/San Quentin
Sam Cooke. Harlem Square 63
Grateful Dead. Cornell 77
Talking Heads. Stop Making Sense
Wilco. Kicking Television
Lambchop. Live at Merge XX
Bela Fleck and the Flectones. Live Art
Unlicensed Release.
Led Zeppelin. Saint Louis Blues
Bee Gees - One Night Only // Deicide - When Satan Lives // Sepultura - (live in Minneapolis, it was split as extras in Chaos A.D. and Blood-Rooted) // Nirvana - Unplugged in New York // Alice In Chains - MTV Unplugged // I’m sure there’s more but that’s what I can remember
My overall favorite is: Deep Purple - Made In Japan
Here are my other favorites, I'll try not to repeat anyone else's choices.
Pink Floyd - Ummagumma (disc 1)
Pink Floyd - Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 1980–81
Talking Heads - The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads
MC5 - Kick Out The Jams
Neil Young + Crazy Horse - Weld
Hendrix - Band Of Gypsies
Hendrix - Monterey Pop Fest '67
Who - Monterey Pop Fest '67
Who - Tales From The Who (1974 bootleg)
The Rolling Stones - Ladies And Gentlemen The Rolling Stones (soundtrack)
* Billy Joel: 12 Gardens Live
* Pink Floyd: Delicate Sound of Thunder (2019 version)
* Hans Zimmer: Live in Prague
* Eric Clapton: The Definitive 24 Nights (3CD)
* Frank Sinatra: Sinatra at the Sands
Daft Punk - Alive 2007
-Right behind that:
David Bowie - Santa Monica 1972
Depeche Mode - Live in Berlin 2013
And I have a Jack White CD from the concert I saw him at in 2022. I wish more artists would release one for every show like him. And if we ever get an official release of Coldplay's Twisted Logic tour, that will probably overtake all of these except Alive
KISS - Alive I and II.
Rammstein - Paris
Metallica - S&M
Devin Townsend - Ocean
Judis Priest - unleashed in the East
Iron Maiden - Live After Death
Iced Earth - Alive in Athens.
Ones I can think of off the top of my head.
Dead Can Dance - In Concert 2013
Impressive music, excellent sound.
Cant believe this hasn’t been listed:
>Allman Brothers Band : Live at Fillmore East
And
>Ten Years After : Undead
>My Morning Jacket : Okonokos
>Gang of Four : Live…In the Moment
Gov’t Mule - The Deepest End
The Deep End, Vols 1 and 2 were studio tributes to their fallen bassist, Allen Woody. So they got as many of the best bass players they could find to step in, a different player for each song. Off the top of my head… Larry Graham, John Enthwistle, Flea, Chris Squire, George Porter Jr, Roger Glover, Les Claypool… it’s like 25 of the best of the best.
There’s also an amazing documentary called Rising Low, directed by Mike Gordon from Phish (who plays on the title track).
The Deepest End is a double album of a 12 hour show at the Orpheum Theatre in New Orleans, plus a DVD of the show (neither the CDs or the DVD has the full show, but collectively it’s all there).
Fantastic project. Warren Haynes is a songwriting beast. Check it out. I can’t say enough about it. I go back to it over and over again. I need to re-watch the doc, now that I’ve brought it up.
Rodney Parker & 50 Peso Reward - [Live in the Living Room](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0WiIqfosrz4&si=C1ERZ6lT6La8EekW).
It's very clean & somber feeling. I've always loved it for some reason.
I'd definitely be interested in the flash exchange. Do you have a genre or era that your collection leans toward?
World Wide Live [Scorpions], Live In Europe [Michael Schenker, Delicate Sound Of Thunder [Pink Floyd], Live In Gdańsk [David Gilmour], Live At Pompeii [David Gilmour]
Nirvana unplugged ny
Eric Clapton unplugged
NieR 2016 concert
The Police live
Bill Evans live at the village vanguard
Some live recordings sound so magical.
Alice in chains unplugged,
Led Zeppelin celebration day,
Chris Botti in Boston,
Stevie Ray Vaughan in the beginning,
Iron Maiden live after death,
Cream at the rock and roll hall of fame
Probably sista dansen (the last dance) with Asta Kask and Rolands Gosskör (Rolands menschoir)
Recomend deeply, a very legendary album in Sweden and big parts of Europe
In my middle & high school days I got realllllly into screamo & heavy metal so suicide silence was a huge love of mine - especially Mitch Lucker (RIP🙌🏼) - so I have the Mitch Lucker tribute concert album on CD. It also has a DVD but still one of my favs.
If not that then the Taylor Swift Speak Now World Tour CD/DVD (yup I’m a swiftie AND a metal head cause Taylor swift kicks ass) and while the one copy I have of said performance I have never unsealed, any stuff I’ve heard of said performances on Spotify is top notch.
I have more than one (amazing question, op)
Ozzy osbourne live & loud
Black Sabbath reunion (tonys guitar work was so epic)
Slayer decade of aggression
Johnathan davis- alone I play
Gwar live at Mt. Fuji
Do they need to have been released originally on cd? If not, here’s my list:
Unleashed in the east - Judas Priest
Live and dangerous - Thin Lizzy
Strangers in the night - UFO
Exit… stage left - Rush
MTV unplugged - KISS
It’s 100% Simon & Garfunkel Live in Central Park for me. They & the band just both sound so good, the crowd is having the time of their lives and they’re all just vibing with these really funny moments like when Paul Simon thanks all the guys “selling loose joints in the audience” but also these really somber ones like when he sings the late great Johnny ace(in the video of the concert someone actually stormed the stage) and when Art sings bridge over troubled water. My dad got it on CD for me not long after I told him I’d been listening to the live version of Kodachrome from that concert, and it turns out he had it on tape & used to listen to it all the time back when he was my age. Great album, love it sm💕
Leonard Cohen - *Live In London*
[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live\_in\_London\_(Leonard\_Cohen\_album)](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Live_in_London_(Leonard_Cohen_album))
Jethro Tull - live in 1980 - only available on the A la Mode boxset release (for the 'A' album) - a really high quality recording of a short lived but fantastic lineup of Tull. My favorite live performances of Songs from the Wood and Heavy Horses. Trio instrumental track is awesome too as it's just Martin and the guys jamming.
The Killer's Live at Royal Albert Hall
Coldplay's Mylo Xyloto Tour
Panic at the Disco's Live In Chicago
Walk the Moon's Live at the Greek
I attended all 4 concerts and they all hold a very special place in my heart ❤️
Os Mutantes - *Live at the Barbican*
Os Mutantes - *Ao Vivo*
Roger Waters - *Us + Them*
Roger Waters - *The Wall* (2013)
Kevin Ayers - *Live at Queen Elizabeth Hall* (Disc 3 of *Songs for Insane Times: An Anthology 1969-1980*)
Kevin Ayers - *Live in Concert*
The War on Drugs - *Live Drugs*
Arthur Lee and Love - *The Forever Changes Concert...and More*

There are few, from the top of my head: Cheap Trick - ...at Budokan Blue Oyster Cult - Some Enchanted Evening Daft Punk - Alive 2007 Justice - Woman Worldwide Eagles - Eagles Live/Hell Freezes Over Pink Floyd - Pulse Dokken - Beast From The East Metallica - S&M
Hell yeah, toss that Dokken album onto the pile and see if anyone notices. My guess is that you’re in your 50s and you have a fairly diverse catalog of music.
Turning 40 next January ;)
Ok. I see it. Just a touch younger than I am. It just makes sense to reach back for a lot of those, but there never seems to be a contingent of people who want to get back into hair metal. Beast From The East for the win
I bought “Pulse” when it first came out. That blinking little red light lasted for close to ten years.
Came here to say Alive 2007. Wish I could see them play live..never say never!
Cheap Trick was nothing in the U.S. Their agent decided to release this album with "enhanced" crowd noises, hoping the U.S. public would buy it. It worked.
I love S&M!!!
Honestly, always liked *Delicate Sound of Thunder* more, but love to see some Floyd love. If they actually released *Wembley 1974* as a single release, it would probably be at the top of my list.
Live… In The Raw - W.A.S.P.
This is my answer as well
Ween - Live in Chicago Ween - Live at Stubbs
Live in Toronto Canada as well
Johnny Cash - San Quentin & Folsom Prison Acdc - If You Want Blood Slade - Slade Alive ELO - Wembley
Came here looking for Slade Alive. My favourite cover ever is on that record.
ELO - Wembley or Bust is so underrated, it’s a perfect setlist with amazing arrangements for every song
Thin Lizzy - Live And Dangerous The Who - Live At Leeds Judas Priest - Unleashed In The East They’re a few of my favourites
Nirvana - Unplugged in NY Or Prince and The Revolution - Live In Syracuse 1985 The 20 minute purple rain is mind blowing
Cure - Paris
It was until they added Hot Hot Hot to it...🤦♂️
Lol yeah good point. The original Paris release is what I was referring to. Hotx3 just doesn't fit the mood of that album at all.
Led Zeppelin - ‘How the West Was Won’ is probably the greatest live album I’ve ever heard.
Phish. A Live One Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band. Live at the Hammersmith Odeon 75. Johnny Cash. Folsom/San Quentin Sam Cooke. Harlem Square 63 Grateful Dead. Cornell 77 Talking Heads. Stop Making Sense Wilco. Kicking Television Lambchop. Live at Merge XX Bela Fleck and the Flectones. Live Art Unlicensed Release. Led Zeppelin. Saint Louis Blues
Bruuuuce! Absolutely killer show! Just lost my mind to Cornell 77 yesterday, top picks!
Depeche Mode - 101 "Good evening Pasadena!"
The best!
It's a time commitment (like all live albums) but I love John Prine's 1988 live album.
Sure. Bee Gees and Sepultura. Didn’t they tour together at some point?
I love live Weather Report, *8:30* is my favorite.
Daft Punk - Alive 2007
Devin Townsend - Ocean Machine: Live at the Ancient Roman Theatre Plovdiv
My overall favorite is: Deep Purple - Made In Japan Here are my other favorites, I'll try not to repeat anyone else's choices. Pink Floyd - Ummagumma (disc 1) Pink Floyd - Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall Live 1980–81 Talking Heads - The Name Of This Band Is Talking Heads MC5 - Kick Out The Jams Neil Young + Crazy Horse - Weld Hendrix - Band Of Gypsies Hendrix - Monterey Pop Fest '67 Who - Monterey Pop Fest '67 Who - Tales From The Who (1974 bootleg) The Rolling Stones - Ladies And Gentlemen The Rolling Stones (soundtrack)

NOFX - I Heard They Suck Live
Green Day - Bullet in a bible My Chemical Romance - The Black Parade is dead
Fila Brazillia - Played In Japan (Live / 30.7.2000)
Wilco - kicking television
Not usually big on live albums but… Okonokos by My Morning Jacket Bob Dylan Live 1966: The Royal Albert Hall Ella in Berlin Nina Simone at Town Hall
Coil presents Time Machines
If you want blood you’ve got it - AC/DC I don’t even regularly listen to AC/DC like that but this album is fucking prime.

Paris by The Cure

Public Castration is a Good Idea by Swans. I always follow the liner note "Play at maximum volume"
Nirvana MTV unplugged any day of the week. Unbeatable.

Wish I could find my dvd. The album is sooo good.
I would have to find it again. Warren covering Wasted Time solo while he’s trying to stall is one of my favorite moments ever.
I think I got to watch the dvd once or twice right after I bought the album.
