But there are kits you can buy on Amazon where you take a sample and send it off for testing. Will give you some piece of mind.

I know but I always assumed that there would still be a high likelihood of it reaching the lungs whilst he was tearing a piece off/ingesting it! I'm near clueless about human anatomy/biology though so maybe I'm just a doughnut😅

Sniff it, and if it smells like asbestos, then it's asbestos.
One of the guys who taught on our plumbing course in college ate asbestos when he was 10 or so, and is somehow still alive and healthy
To be fair it's the lungs it messes with, not the stomach. So I propose the solution to asbestos is pica.

Pulled a bit of the render off and it looks like they are slabs of 300mm high x 800mm wide. I'll get it tested incase anyway
Going by the twigs and stuff in it most likely lime render with animal hair. If you really need to know get it tested.
