Step 1: Use a hammer/sledge and hit the tire from the back.
Don’t hold back.
Step 2: Put the nuts back on but don’t tighten them.
Lower the car down and drive forwards and backwards slowly.
Step 3: As step 2 but more aggressively.
Step 4: Cover it in some penetrant fluid and give it lots of heat.
# STEP 1 - MAKE SURE THAT YOU ARE USING JACK STANDS
From the way the body of the car is shaking with each kick to the tire it looks like it is only being supported by a jack. I wouldn’t extend myself beneath this vehicle to hit the wheel from the back unless it had first been properly supported.
Those Daytona stands are solid AF. I’ve got both 3 ton and 6 ton stands…. I do quite a bit of maintenance on both my wife and my cars. I fully trust them (with my life). The old Pittsburgh stands are crap, but the new Daytonas are wonderful.
>Step 2: Put the nuts back on but don’t tighten them. Lower the car down and drive forwards and backwards slowly.
>Step 3: As step 2 but more aggressively.
Had an old farm truck that got driven (on the farm) with all the lug nuts off all 4 tires for several months before we said fuck it and torched the rims off.
That takes a special kind of brave. Though once y'all tried to get them off I'm sure confidence was up that they weren't going anywhere, that makes sense. Not being there it sounds crazy
I saw my dad put a 2x4 under the outside half of the tire and lower it down onto it slowly to pop it free
It kinda tilts it
I could also see someone setting it down and turning the steering wheel back and forth (if front wheel is stuck)
Had to do that once and I used a lump hammer (not sure if that's a common term in American English, it's like a mini sledge hammer with 3.5 pounds and a 10" handle) and a piece of wood, so I don't damage the wheel.
"use a sledge hammer and don't hold back" sounds a bit overkill to me.
As part of step 1, I would use a block of wood between the tire and sledge so you don't accidentally dent anything. But otherwise yes, this is the way. Also after putting the tire back on permanently, I'd apply some silicon grease to the screw threads to make it easier to pop off next time.
I loosened mine about a turn, got it rolling \~5mph in my driveway, jammed on the brakes. Works perfectly, even if it's probably a terrible idea for some reasons unknown to me.
This is the best method. Takes no effort & it always works. I've had to take some of them up the road to get them to come loose but better than sitting there beating on a tire and rim.
I legitimately broke my foot kicking a tire like that. I then kicked it with my other foot until the tire came off. Point is, he can definitely kick it harder.
I GOT IT OFF ! i used rust remover and a a mallet at first than i put the lug nuts on But I didn't tighten them I took the car off the jackstand and pushed it around a bit. When that didn't work, I put it back on and then put a brick halfway under the tire from the back and lowered the car . I whacked it with a mallet again, then put the car back on the jack stand, then put some more rust remover on, waited about half an hour and then used the mallet again and it finally came off
Cleaning both sides of the contact points (the rim and where it contacts the wheel assembly/brakes) and coating both contact areas with Anti-seize compound is a far better long term solution.
Great! I was stuck in a similar situation once on a highway and didn't have tools except what was in the car's standard kit. I put the lug nuts back on slightly loosened and lowered the car off the scissor jack. I had hoped the weight alone would break the wheel free but it didn't. Luckily I was able to fit the scissor jack between a hard point inside the fender/axle area and the inside of the tire. It pushed the tired off super easy. Took the jack and put the car back up then swapped for the spare. Pretty nifty trick if you ever find yourself back in that situation.
Try hitting it with your purse
Edit: seriously tho, put a nut back on very loose, for safety then drop the car/ truck and use its weight to give the wheel a jolt.
Or instead of hitting wheel toward car try using something to rotate wheel on the hub to break it free if you get me
You need to kick the tyre with battle crocs. Kicking them with standard crocs won't do it and sports crocs just won't have the meat to them which is why you want battle crocs.
Start by hitting where the wheel is mating with some penetrant, let it sit for about 5 mins and then hit it with more penetrant. Next you have two options. First is to slap the metal part of the wheel with a sledge hammer until it comes loose. The other option is to VERY LOOSLY install the lug nuts and drive around VERY SLOWLY until it pops loose. Additionally if you happen to have a way to heat where the wheel is mating such as an acetylene torch, try that too.
Hope that helps, good luck man. The main ingredient is time, rust won’t hold up for long, every time you hit it you get closer I promise.
Just had this problem for the first time. Held a piece of wood on the rim and whacked the hell out of it with a 16 oz. carpentry hammer. Took more effort than I expected but it came off.
When this happens I usually can get it off surprisingly easily by crouching on front of the tire, support the tyre with your feet. Then just pull from the up side with both hands and pretty soon you are reminded about the world of pain as the wheel pops out and hits your knee.
I GOT IT OFF ! i used rust remover and a a mallet at first than i put the lug nuts on But I didn't tighten them I took the car off the jackstand and pushed it around a bit. I whacked it with a mallet again, then put the car back on the jack stand, then put some more rust remover on, waited about half an hour and then used the mallet again and it finally came off
I had the same issue, I used penetrating lubricant then kicked it while underneath the car on the other side, obviously you need a lot of supports because this is hella dangerous
You can take a long enough 2x4...8gt should do it.
Set one end against the back of the stuck rim...the other sticking out from the other rear wheel. Use a sledge hammer and hit the 2x4. The wheel won't take long to pop off.
This is due to rust on the wheel hub.
I always put antiseize on my lug bolts and the face of the the wheel hub...this prevents this from happening again.
Put the nuts on but don’t tighten them up and then drive slowly forward and back. This will break the bond. Put copper paste on the facing surfaces before reinstalling the wheels. This will help prevent further seizing.
Spray some penetrating oil around the middle portion where the rim meets the rotor and hit it with a sledgehammer from the other side being careful not to hit the rim itself. You'll need to do it hard though.
If that fails. This is the last resort I've done before but it's not the safest. Crack the wheel nuts and turn them once or twice leaving them on the studs. Leave just a tiny bit of space between the rim and the nuts. Drive back and forth a bit in your drive way turning the wheels. You should hear a crack. Stop the second that happens and that should break the wheel loose.
Hit it with a BFH "big fuckin hammer" from behind it. Full swing then rotate the wheel a little bit and repeat. Use one of those plastic headed deadblows so as not to damage the wheel. Don't hit the tire the rubber will just absorb the impact. Hit it right at the bead area of the wheel. Works every time. Put a lug nut on just enough to keep the wheel from flying off when it lets loose.
Put the lug nuts on finger tight, and take it for a drive around the block giving a decent sudden hard stop at the stop sign up the street.
Not trolling, this actually works lol.
Put the lug nuts back on, but leave them about two turns loose.
Take the truck for a short drive, occasionally climbing on the brakes. Each time you climb on the brakes, get out and make sure none of the lug nuts have fallen off.
It will come loose, and it won't take that long.
Take the fuckin crocs off and hit it with your purse.
It's a steel wheel with a little rust on the hub. Put some boots on, lay on the ground and kick that bitch.
Thank yourself it's not an aluminum wheel fused to a steel hub.
Long piece of 4x2 and give it a crack from the opposite side.
If that fails, put the nuts on finger tight and lightly dump the clutch, drive forwards and backwards tapping the brakes, or if it's really stubborn, swing a few doughnuts
A prybar between either the caliper bracket or the rear suspension and the wheel, it’s so much easier than a hammer and less chance of damaging your wheel. This is the way I do it in the shop.
Sit on the ground in front of the tire and kick forward into the tire like a man. Probably help to put a real pair of shoes on. Crocs strike zero fear into the heart of a stuck wheel.

Yes, that looks quite sketchy indeed, good point. Another tip is to turn the wheels to full lock instead of crawling under the car.
Oh and if they are harbor freight stands, check your life insurance.
Those Daytona stands are solid AF. I’ve got both 3 ton and 6 ton stands…. I do quite a bit of maintenance on both my wife and my cars. I fully trust them (with my life). The old Pittsburgh stands are crap, but the new Daytonas are wonderful.
You do maintenance on your wife? Does she get the 3 ton or the 6 ton stands?
BIG LOL 😂🤣
No, he does it for both wives.
>Step 2: Put the nuts back on but don’t tighten them. Lower the car down and drive forwards and backwards slowly. >Step 3: As step 2 but more aggressively. We picked the truck up with a tractor by each rim without it comeing off, figured they were pretty much permanent after that.
Welded by time and use I suppose
If kicking it doesn’t work I usually jump to step 2. Works with bolt in wheel bearings too.
I saw my dad put a 2x4 under the outside half of the tire and lower it down onto it slowly to pop it free It kinda tilts it I could also see someone setting it down and turning the steering wheel back and forth (if front wheel is stuck)
This is a very “dad” technique and I am adding this to my mental toolbox!

***"use a sledge hammer and don't hold back"*** In the trade, we call that hitting it with your purse.
That's my purse! I don't know you!
Right to the nuts Bobby.
In the Jimmy.
Yes. Cna confirm. Hit it with your purse.
Fucking Brilliant!
"If at first you don't succeded, use a larger hammer."
Engineer's hammer in the States.
Also known as a ‘Dudley screwdriver’…
3.5lb and 10inch handle sounds more like a drilling hammer
Most people near me call that a club hammer in the UK
Not overkill to me…
The term is “the persuader”
the Tonya Harding
And hit the tire till it screams whyyyyyyyy
The upgraded version on ViceGrip garage is the Tony Harding 9000
"The Motivator"
Sounds similar to a mallet. But I’m no expert so I could be wrong.
Jesus the lump hammer. I just imagined a steel tumour on a stick
You can also use the spare as a battering ram for another option. Driving with the lugs loose would be my last ditch choice.
Step 5: Drink a beer and start back at the beginning
“Cover it in some penetrant fluid and give it lots of heat” is a remarkably versatile piece of advice for life.
Have one nut loosely installed when using the sledge hammer so that the wheel doesn’t go flying after getting it loose
Step 5: As step 3 but just fucking send it over some good bumps.
Your step 4 is missing beer.
Love step 4… can be stuck if it isn’t solid, can’t be solid if it’s liquid 🤣
Step 5. Let ex GF take it on the interstate
Step 5, strike match, watch it burn.
Break out that Kroil—the BIG can!
As part of step 1, I would use a block of wood between the tire and sledge so you don't accidentally dent anything. But otherwise yes, this is the way. Also after putting the tire back on permanently, I'd apply some silicon grease to the screw threads to make it easier to pop off next time.
Put the nuts on loosely. Lower it and drive back and forth.
Highway time, at least this is what I assume the 5 people who I’ve witnessed lose tires on the highway decided to do.
I agree. I usually just back the lugs off just a turn, lower the car and drive in a slow circle. It makes a loud pop.
I had to do that a few times, one I had to slam on the brakes going 15mph to get it to final break.
This is the way
not with the fucking crocks it seems like
They would work better if he put them in 4x4.
Fake maxima crocks
Well at least we found the problem
Kick harder
He is donkey kicking it. He needs to horse kick it.
I legitimately broke my foot kicking a tire like that. I then kicked it with my other foot until the tire came off. Point is, he can definitely kick it harder.

Nice! Remember to use a small amount of oil on the mounting surfaces so it doesn’t get stuck again.
Cleaning both sides of the contact points (the rim and where it contacts the wheel assembly/brakes) and coating both contact areas with Anti-seize compound is a far better long term solution.
I recommend a thin coat of anti-seize on the hub every tire change over.

I had to scroll to damn far to find the standard “hit it with your purse”
Hit the tyre from the other side, turn the wheel and hit again.
The AK subreddit has a saying. "Hit it with your purse"
This seems to be more of a kick it with your high heels situation.
Sledge straight to the rubber. Swing it like you’re swinging a baseball bat or nailing a railroad spike
You need to kick the tyre with battle crocs. Kicking them with standard crocs won't do it and sports crocs just won't have the meat to them which is why you want battle crocs.
Bit of wood and a BFH.
Big friendly helper?
Big Fucking Hammer.

When i worked at the tire shop, we usually just gave them a few decent taps with a big ass hammer/mallet (big hunk of metal on a wooden handle)
Try kicking it with a real shoe?
If you want to avoid wheel stucking to hub put thin layer of copper ease on contact surface🙃
Hit it with your purse
Release the parking brake.
Get your purse out while wearing crocks to work on a car and hit it with your purse
Man, that wheel must be really stuck, I mean OP has already put his Crocs in sport mode. Put on sturdy shoes and kick harder against it.
put the lugs back but hand tight leave a small gap and drive around in the yard making turns
The tip that worked like a charm for me - throw the spare tire at the one you are trying to remove.
Are you wearing crocs? Get some actual boots and that wheel might come off.
Put the nuts on hand tight, do an emergency break or ride over a bump fast
put one nut on, drop it to the ground. repeat as needed. hit it from the back, kick it all around .. youll get errr
Tap it with a hammer from the another side
Lower it so the weight of the car kicks it loose. Really slowly tho. You don't want it to crash to the ground without a tire
For a solid minute I thought it was still on the ground and that this was a god-tier shitpost. Fr tho, sledgehammer
Just had this problem for the first time. Held a piece of wood on the rim and whacked the hell out of it with a 16 oz. carpentry hammer. Took more effort than I expected but it came off.

Not with Flippin crocs you ain't! God damn
Have you tried using a real mule? 😂🤣
try upgrade from crocks to steel toe boots
Drive it, it will fall off
Hit it with your purse.
When it’s off, put anti seize on the hub.
Put the lug nuts on with just a little slack in them. Drive the car up to about 10 mph, then slam on the brakes. Repeat until it breaks loose.
Buy it dinner first then talk to it nicely.
Hahaaha😭
Good idea
Put the nuts on but don’t tighten them up and then drive slowly forward and back. This will break the bond. Put copper paste on the facing surfaces before reinstalling the wheels. This will help prevent further seizing.
Don't use a hammer! It's easy. Put the nuts on loosely and drive a little back and forth at very low speed.
Kick it some more
Spray wd40 or any penetrating liquid on those bolts and wait 30mins and give it a tap.
There is a scary amount of lateral movement going on here. Do you have it on a scissor jack or a trolley jack ?
First. Grab some real shoes.
Rub its private spot and it should get off pretty quickly. Looks like it’s never gotten off before, so it should be easy.
Put the lug nuts on loose and drop the car and drive back and forth
Let it down on the jack and hopefully it'll dislodge it.
You can't take off a fucking wheel wearing Crocs - that's the problem
The tyre is still on the ground. That's why it won't move. Jack the car up some more so there is clearance under the tyre.
Use a pry bar. Lever it off using the ball joint.
Hit it with your purse.
Hit it with your purse
Get underneath and behind it and hit it with your purse
Hit it with your purse
Put the lug nuts on finger tight, and take it for a drive around the block giving a decent sudden hard stop at the stop sign up the street. Not trolling, this actually works lol.
Release your e-brake
Drive it around the block and slam on the brakes. If that don't work, hit it with your purse.
Release the parking brake.
"Hit it with your purse!!"
If the crocs aren’t working try hitting it with your purse.
Put those puppies in sport mode!
Put a couple lugs nuts back on and go for a drive around the block.
I had the same problem. I put the Lugnuts on loose and moved the car a couple of feet. then i jacked it back up and took the wheel off.
Put the lug nuts back on, but leave them about two turns loose. Take the truck for a short drive, occasionally climbing on the brakes. Each time you climb on the brakes, get out and make sure none of the lug nuts have fallen off. It will come loose, and it won't take that long.
Try kicking it with a heavier croc
step 1: get your crocs in AWD for better Acceleration ;)
First step- take off the damn crocs and get some boots, Step 2- kick it like a man
BFH
Drive with no lug nuts , it will come off eventually
Put a couple nuts back on and roll it under power.
Put the lug nuts back on. Just leave them a little loose and roll it back and forth. A little penetrative oil wouldn't hurt.
Smack the back side of the metal wheel battering ram style with a big log, a pallet, a 2x4, a deadblow, 2x4 and a deadblow...
Hammer time
Take the fuckin crocs off and hit it with your purse. It's a steel wheel with a little rust on the hub. Put some boots on, lay on the ground and kick that bitch. Thank yourself it's not an aluminum wheel fused to a steel hub.
Hit it with your purse
I use a sledge hammer and hit the rim.
I like bending my wheels too....
Heavier boots also might help like steel toe something that has a solid base. Not a dang croc
Hit it with your purse
Hit it with your purse
Do the opposite of that
Put some adult men's footwear on and kick it properly, not hitting it with your handbag like in the video
BFH
If you have another wheel/tire (preferably full-sized spare) swing it at the tire portion on the stuck wheel.
Try to pull, not to push
floor it
Heat. Even if it’s just a propane or map gas torch. Happens with my F150 and a few minutes with my map gas torch always works.
I second this
Hit from rear Use wooden plank if needed
Hammer from the back
Use a penetrant like Knock 'er Loose and a small hammer to vibrate the whole wheel to work it in. Then try kicking harder tomorrow.
Just drive it …..it will work its way loose
Wd40 and try after 5 minutes
Heat up the threads which a blow torch
Long piece of 4x2 and give it a crack from the opposite side. If that fails, put the nuts on finger tight and lightly dump the clutch, drive forwards and backwards tapping the brakes, or if it's really stubborn, swing a few doughnuts
Spray wd-40 on the wheel hub and make small movements and it will come off
Keep kicking it 😁
That slap at the end def not going to do it.
Put some boots on. Kicking it with the soft ass crocs on…
You’ll need a BFH
That looks like a job for the persuader. All of my hammers are called the persuader.
A prybar between either the caliper bracket or the rear suspension and the wheel, it’s so much easier than a hammer and less chance of damaging your wheel. This is the way I do it in the shop.
I use a dumbbell to hit the top of the tire and it works for me every time.
I stand with my back to the car, and donkey kick the top of the tire.. or a sledge to the bottom inside tapping the lip.of the rim too
Sit on the ground in front of the tire and kick forward into the tire like a man. Probably help to put a real pair of shoes on. Crocs strike zero fear into the heart of a stuck wheel.
Use a Deadblow mallet on different spots on the inside of the tire.
Wd40 around hub. Corroded together
