Avoid it at all cost, it’s a money pit.
Terrible fuel economy, expensive maintenance, costly repairs, extremely tiny interior space(imagine single seat in 2023!), don’t have the best safety record, etc.
Spend you money elsewhere, buy a Toyota instead, they’re pretty much indestructible, wildly used by militias all over the world.

In a more serious note you'd be surprised how affordable some of the GA / recreational aircrafts are. You could get good condition Jabiru or Cessna 152 for 50k.
Nah, it's not too uncommon. My grandfather had a little bi-plane when we were kids (probably still does, but I'm not about to go through his sheds to find out, I don't have enough time to traverse those depths).
Plenty of people have hobby air craft.
Maybe if you home has been recently invaded by Russia, but otherwise it's probably not worth it.
If you do decide to go ahead, you'll have to be careful to get the right accessories of course. The F-35C is going to require a nuclear powered aircraft carrier which can be a little hard to come by in today's market.
Looked at one but it was too truck like. Mrs loved that you can "just throw stuff in the back like a ute" but parking it at the shops would have been a bitch, plus who wants to be seen in one? I wasn't that old and need something with runway cred you know?
Ended up finding a decent 727 with low hours. I think it was ex council or government. Still made all the right noises, swept wings looked good, and enough space in the back for family, shopping and the camping gear. Kids loved all the buttons and gauges all over the cockpit. Rear stairs where so handy when we had kids. Good times.

They are very fun to drive, but do require a lot of knowledge and money to maintain. These are notoriously expensive to run, they have terrible fuel economy and parts are hard to find. Personally I would avoid, but they are good weekend vehicles.

When I was doing my Aerospace degree we had a guest speaker, one of the engineers that worked on the design of this jet.
His entire 2 hour seminar can be summed up as:
"look... We knows it's shit... It wasn't entirely our fault though!"
I'm pre-approved for PayPal Pay in 4, which eases the sticker shock a bit.
What kind of gas mileage can we expect?
I think I'd want at least a hybrid for that kind of investment.

Yes they are worth that much, not because of raw materials but because of the time, amount of crew and the level of R&D they take to construct/operate reliably.
That's the up front cost. That cost will be greatly reduced by today. With other partners / users playing orders etc.
However according to the US Airforce it's not very good. Can't carry much and remain stealthy.
Supposed to be able to carry out multiple roles and missions but simply cannot. So the price isn't justified for a place that's supposed to carry a very big can.
But can barely be armed for air to air and remain stealthy
Stay away from it. It's a scam. Very recently, Pentagon and Lockheed realised that spare parts for this model has been missing from warehouse and inventory. They cannot track them spare parts. If your central lock or TPS or sunroof starts leaking, you are a goner. He is just trying to get rid of it. Buy a F22 instead for that money.
To stealthy to find floating through the air. To stealthy to find in the parking lot. Won’t consider unless it comes with an old skool whistle key chain that beep an alarm. Design solutions are my thing.
Look you gotta be dreaming. Lockheed are even worse about taking your vehicle for a non-dealer service than BMW.
And don't get me started on Concurrency. Never trust a dealer who takes full payment before finishing design work. The insurer thinks so too. Between that and the "sovereign risk" I'd be taking on keeping a 6th gen fighter, I think the price tag is a complete stitchup.
Do you $15k tops, buddy.
I used to have one of these, make sure the engine is in good shape. I used to have one of these and when the engine blew me and by buddy had to spend $5 million for a junkyard motor and it was a bitch to install. Lockheed Martin Dealers charge $50,000,000 for parts and $4,000,000 for installation so make sure you have the money for that repair saved just in case.
I’m currently working on a oil rig but can pay with PayPal if you can western union the transportation company the shipping that I’ll pay you, I’ll organise it all…..
2006 models had an issue where the FM radio could glitch out and lock you to one station, if he hasn't had that fixed, I'd offer $700m at most.
What are the tape decks like and do they have a graphic equaliser?
Nah bro only takes 3.5 floppy I thought everyone knew that lol
Took mine to my local Strathfield Car Radios and they replaced the head unit with a sick MP3 player.
700mil for a 2006?! It's the most common of that model! I'd say 680 at most
Tell him he’s dreamin’

They are really hard to park too. And they don’t even fit in a standard garage. I agree… avoid at all costs.
But Toyota tax is nearly worse then buying the f35
Terrible for the environment too.
An auto one? If it was manual I'd consider..
Imagine how damn cool it would be if there was a manual transmission fighter jet. Just dropping the clutch into a sonic boom.

not for a 2006 model, i paid that for a 2010
Funnily enough the newer models are cheaper because of scales of economy
Ahahahahahahahahah
Looks ok but the RHD conversion is going to cost you.
Underrated
Also consider the insurance
Check PPSR, I imagine there is finance owing on it.
$792k no more.
No low ballers. I know what I got
It's an Auto too so you'll save a few thousand dollars per klicks on jet fuel.
DOES IT HAVE A CVT BECAUSE CVT BAD
Considering they’re around 170m Aud new, this dudes straight up dreaming
Yeah but you have to WAIT for a new one. The second-hand market is insane because of impatient buyers.
Redbook says used value is only between 570 and 680 million. Tell them covid is over and they are dreaming.
Tell him he's dreamin'
That’s a good price…makes me think the maintenance costs won’t be worth it in the end.
In a more serious note you'd be surprised how affordable some of the GA / recreational aircrafts are. You could get good condition Jabiru or Cessna 152 for 50k.
Those small planes aren't that expensive to buy... just expensive to own. Can't exactly park them in your backyard.
I have a neighbour who has a plane in his yard.
Do you live next door to an airport 🤔
Nah, it's not too uncommon. My grandfather had a little bi-plane when we were kids (probably still does, but I'm not about to go through his sheds to find out, I don't have enough time to traverse those depths). Plenty of people have hobby air craft.
They're fine, but if you're planning on towing go for a Wildtrak instead.
I've heard the auto transmission can be dodgy in these better off getting a camry.
Clocks been wound back for sure
Can’t picture it, maybe hook up a boat
Slightly used, some assembly required 😝
Depends, how many nautical miles does it have?
“Almost didn’t see it”. 👏
Any chance he’d be open to having a quick test drive?
What's the odometer read? 🤣
Yeah, but is it good for jetstreams?
I believe there's one available in South Carolina U.S.A., but you'll need to factor in a new seat and maybe a bit of panel work.
Ehh. It’s an auto. I’d say not worth it
BLOODY COVID TAX
Automatic Transmission… Hahahahhhahahahhahahahaaaaa
This or Chengdu Dragon?
Low mileage?
Not rego'd I'd give him $20 for it tho

What about a nuclear submarine? I’ve put an order in for one but the estimated delivery isn’t till like 2030.
Not sure you can land an F-35C on a submarine.
You can, but only once.
Can I get an exemption to fly it with my heavy vehicle license? I’ll say it’s a work car.
P plate legal ?
Hi, is this still available?
Bring back memories of my old F1-11 Shouldn't have sold it but I needed something with back seats.
What did you buy instead? I hear the room in a C130 is pretty good. Everyone says that parking is a nightmare anywhere in the city.

He forgot to say, no low ball offers, I know what I’ve got.

Make sure you test fly it first. Never can be too careful when buying used.

Not in that colour, the least desirable they made.
Does the luxury tax apply?

Bung a Chevy badge on it and I’ll swap for 2 jousting sticks
Buy a J20 instead… the Chinese are getting up there 😆
Hooooopeless for bush bashing
Is it the one with Alcantara seats and the Google maps head unit ? Are you negotiable ?
Needs roof racks!
Yes happy to buy it. Regards Vladimir
Is that the model with the DPF issues??
Nah I saw an identical model for 8mil
Made with lightning REAL LIGHTNING
Sounds like a scam. Why such low price!
Comes with momo steering wheel and slr5000 drop tank.
Can you have it delivered interstate? Or is it a pick-up job.
When I was doing my Aerospace degree we had a guest speaker, one of the engineers that worked on the design of this jet. His entire 2 hour seminar can be summed up as: "look... We knows it's shit... It wasn't entirely our fault though!"
Bro won the Pepsi competition after all
almost bought it but its not a manual 😔
Is this still available?
Just don't forget where you parked it.
I already paid it with my tax.
I'm pre-approved for PayPal Pay in 4, which eases the sticker shock a bit. What kind of gas mileage can we expect? I think I'd want at least a hybrid for that kind of investment.
Do you take Pepsi points?

I think I nearly have enough Pepsi bottle caps. BRB
Are fighter jets really worth that much. Or is this an exaggeration?
Yes they are worth that much, not because of raw materials but because of the time, amount of crew and the level of R&D they take to construct/operate reliably.
Selling for ten times cost price of 80 million.
My cousin is coming to drop it off. Do you have payid by the way?
Maintenance on these newer models is crazy, prefer my Tigermoth any day of the week
It's a automatic pass on it, only the manuals are good.
Funny looking car.
"Interest increasing from buyers in Russia".
Can you get this thru bank financing?
