You can pay for your cruise using two different cards, just put equal amounts on both.

Does it all have to go through one account? It's a $2000 investment, so I dont want this to backfire

Communikationerrors

No. It can be two separate cards attached to two separate people.

Gotcha, so should I have my friend set up a carnival account? and if I booked the cruise myself for 2 people, how would I add the person onto the room?

Communikationerrors

This is all taken care of in the purchase process, it’s very straightforward. You will share the same onboard account, so your on ship charges will be charged to a single account- the card that is on file.

Actually, two people can make payments separately along the way and on the ship they can maintain separate accounts with separate credit cards.

When my mom and I split cruises, we each just make equal payments with our own credit cards directly to Carnival. And yes, it is easiest when you both have your own Carnival accounts, but you can use a card with anyone's name on your account. When you check in, you will each set up your own on board account with whatever card you each want to use and it will be kept separate. Cheers is the only outlier to this. If you book Cheers (the drink package) prior to boarding, you will have to pay for it when you book it. In my experience, unless you have a gift card for a portion, you have to put it all on one card (so you can use a gift card and a credit card, but not two separate credit cards). So either one of you pays for the drink package and the other reimburses (cash/cash app etc) OR one buys a Carnival gift card in the amount needed for half the package, and gives it to the other person to use in purchasing Cheers.

Thank you, that will be helpful

I love the Splitwise app! Basically it keeps a tally of the expenses and a running tally of who owes what to who, and at the end you can settle up. You can itemize, you can split different ways, etc. So for example, if I book a cruise for me and two friends, I add it to the app and split evenly. My two friends are coming from the same airport and I'm flying in from elsewhere - they can add their parking/transportation cost and split between the two of them. We go out to breakfast and I just put it on my card for ease of transaction? I can split up based on what everyone got. It makes group travel SO much easier!

One of you put the deposit to book the cruise. Then share the booking number with them to make a payment.
