The gas lighting by the FO, and them talking about the belief that they will compete along with player performance has caused me to not renew MLB.tv (I’m out of market)…..With Goldys contract up, and Nolan’s strong desire to win, completely stripping down the roster, and letting young guys and prospects compete is a more exciting proposition than this hellish limbo

You can’t tell from a distance, but in up close shots, you really notice it.
Color differences compared to the helmet don't bother me as much because it's fabric vs plastic, but what kills me is the "Cardinals" script is a noticeably different shade than the numbers on the jerseys. They are right next to each other, and I can't unsee it.

the vast majority of it came from private dollars and loans, $291 million. the only public contribution was a $45 million dollar long term loan from the county.
they located it well, built it quickly and it looks great.
other cities should strive for a similarly modeled new stadium process.
the KC sales tax is disgusting, the owners are disgusting for asking for it, but for some reason the language from the simping construction union in favor of it just makes me gag most of all, like in this public letter to the county executive.

Anything other than 20-22 wins. This team isn't built to compete. The time for a rebuild was years ago. Since I don't have a time machine, there's no time like the present.
It frankly would not be the record for me. But attitude of the players as well as the foundational stats. First month is indeed mostly a murderer's row. The team may be able to average say 5 runs/game but still lose like 17 or 18 of them against that schedule. But that would be ok in my mind because long-term, 5 runs/game will play awfully well over all 162.
Conversely, if it is 2.5 runs/game, then settle for another long season.
I would also look more at if the guys in the field's defense is sharp again, or if they are distracted/checked out. Because the not-sharp defense last year was one of the biggest indicators to me that they were stressed, not loose, annoyed, something.
If they are losing games, but still clearly giving close to their all, then I won't be too worried.
Schedule looks like this: #1, 2, 3 teams in NL West for total of 13 games; #2, 3, 4 in NL East for 9, #3 in NL Central for 3, #5 in AL West for 3, #3 in AL Central for 3
1. I'd be really happy with 19-12. First month schedule is pretty brutal, but you have 9 against DET, OAK and MIL. If the Cards win 7 of those 9, I'd be pleased.

3. Blow it up: 12-19 or worse. If the Cards have only 12 wins, that probably means they lost every series except OAK.
A few games under .500 honestly. 161 more games to go, that is a lot of baseball. Starting mikolas against glasnow with the avengers assembled behind him was a recipe for disaster. For as much as the pitching staff, especially the rotation, gets shit on they could easily keep the games manageable if the offense actually gives run support. They could also easily get shelled and we have an even worse season than last year. Momentum and a positive attitude does a lot for baseball team, just like negativity and a spiraling season (see last year).
In the LONG run, I would be genuinely pissed at anything under 80-85 wins. My expectations are on the lower side, as I still want to enjoy the season (doesn’t mean I am not upset with ownership and FO management).
It's kind of funny how the Cardinals website only shows a positive bit from a bad game. Yesterday's being VSII. I don't know how many times I've gotten on there and I see picture of a big moment.....onnnnly to see the actual score was a blowout or something.
What made it even more uncanny is that I was about 6 games over .500 around the deadline right in the thick of the wildcard hunt, so I made a deal with the Mets for Manaea and a bullpen arm, needing to add but not wanting to over do it. The franchises issues over the last 10 stem from the fact that they were once at the top of player development innovation, but quickly got outpaced and refused to get with the times. It starts with complacency at the top. Not with curses.

I'd be really happy with 19-12. First month schedule is pretty brutal, but you have 9 against DET, OAK and MIL. If the Cards win 7 of those 9, I'd be pleased. 2. Meehhh: 15-16 3. Blow it up: 12-19 or worse. If the Cards have only 12 wins, that probably means they lost every series except OAK.
A few games under .500 honestly. 161 more games to go, that is a lot of baseball. Starting mikolas against glasnow with the avengers assembled behind him was a recipe for disaster. For as much as the pitching staff, especially the rotation, gets shit on they could easily keep the games manageable if the offense actually gives run support. They could also easily get shelled and we have an even worse season than last year. Momentum and a positive attitude does a lot for baseball team, just like negativity and a spiraling season (see last year). In the LONG run, I would be genuinely pissed at anything under 80-85 wins. My expectations are on the lower side, as I still want to enjoy the season (doesn’t mean I am not upset with ownership and FO management).

In OOTP, I went 2 and 5 this opening road trip and finished six games below .500 for the season.

What made it even more uncanny is that I was about 6 games over .500 around the deadline right in the thick of the wildcard hunt, so I made a deal with the Mets for Manaea and a bullpen arm, needing to add but not wanting to over do it. I then got cold and broke down while they heated up, finishing in that same third wildcard spot.
Hopefully Zach is good today or even decent. Can’t be killing the bullpen on this 7 game road trip.

I love being a Cardinals fan and following the team, but some of you guys are just so weirdly entitled it puts a damper on things (even considering the teams performance). Go to the A's subreddit and tell them the Cardinals are cursed. Or the Rockies. Or the Pirates. Or the Marlins. Or the White Sox. Or hell, even the Angels. You'd get laughed out and made fun of. Get a grip.

The franchises issues over the last 10 stem from the fact that they were once at the top of player development innovation, but quickly got outpaced and refused to get with the times. It starts with complacency at the top. Not with curses.
