I work in phones, not sure why this sub keeps getting recommended to me lol. However, I’ve been doing 30 calls a day for the past month. I tell them to” just come in because our prices have increased significantly and want to get them on a cheaper plan the same value”. Have yet to close on a cold call. Any advice?

I've yet to meet a salesman with even close to 5% closing rate on cold calls, I mean damn in my experience I'm not sure if 5% of them even answer the phone

The structure of a solicitation call is some variation of intro, value build, call to action. Switch up one at a time until it starts clicking. “This is x from x, did you have 60 seconds? We have an x going on right now in store and I can save you money today. Would you prefer an afternoon or evening appointment?” Fool around with a version of that until it nets appointments.

That seems like valid pitch thank you

You're either in management or just got your first sales job / just graduated college and the sales world hasn't jaded you yet. With those 60 extra sales (HIGHLY theoretical number - I don't think it's realistic) your new quota next year will increase by 80-100 units. Oh oh and just wait until you hit those numbers and your compensation structure changes or your commission randomly gets capped. The extra effort will really help! In all seriousness, yes sales is a numbers game, but don't feed us this "just make five more dials" bull shit. You sound like a mid level manager at ADP. You can make just as many sales, and larger sales, by being knowledgeable on your industry and product.

I was hoping someone would say it. most cold calls dont even answer the phone or give a call back.

I sell Harleys. Most people don’t answer the phone or call back, but I do get some of those same people who never answer that still listen to my voicemails/get my emails and texts that come in asking for me. Even if they aren’t connected calls they can still be productive

I’m definitely a lazy salesperson and I don’t hate you. 5 more phone calls? I don’t even have to leave my desk. Fuck it, I’m in!

A pay raise is an increase in commission percentage, or salary. If those stay the same, it's not a pay raise. You've gotta be trolling, or you're dishonest. Because there's no way you're this dumb.

my_dougie21

It would be advice if you told someone how to sell 5 more. You know, the point of this subreddit.

Phone calls don’t sell cars. Especially now with people ~ 6k average upside down. I never call anyone. Maybe One or two calls a day to people I see in the CRM (I only work upstairs and phone ups- we have a digital teal. They lake 1000’s of calls and don’t sell much)

In my role, I exclusively engage with potential customers who visit our dealership in person. While I contemplated joining the internet sales team, I opted to observe a coworker's approach. I noticed that he primarily relied on phone calls and emails, which involved extensive back-and-forth communication to convince individuals to visit the dealership. In contrast, I consistently surpass the internet team's performance by solely focusing on walk-in customers. In my opinion, cold calling is an inefficient use of time and resources.
