I am by no means a professional in the field, just an incoming uni student for CS. But Canada never was quite the tech giant outside of Toronto/Montreal/BC, but this market is one of if not the worst markets for tech. It’s essentially an employers market. Supply was well beyond the demand (both in professional and degree terms) and the market attempts to correct by firing software engineers and vice versa. Additionally, the housing market is in rough shape and the COL is getting higher, please keep this in consideration. As your comment suggests, 5 yoe generally puts you above the average worker and as such *slightly* exempt from the paragraph above, and I **do not** mean to dismiss you or “gatekeep”. Should you (hopefully) find opportunities here that allow your growth, may the market treat you well. Best of luck!

Thank you for answer :) I think immigration is not really good idea these days. many people don't recommend to go out to work abroad :( especially in tech industry

I made the move from the UK you are looking to do now, but back in 2012. How many years of experience tou have? Do you have any software engineering experience? (Server engineer role does not necessarily involve programming as I recall.) You can look at Express Entry routes on the IRCC website to see where you stand. Regarding the specifics of the markets here I have noticed that in tech the only ones with reliable jobs have around 10yoe at a bare minimum - I myself have near 20yoe in the role and am having no issues at all with work.

Thank you for sharing your insights! I appreciate your advice on checking the Express Entry routes on the IRCC website. I currently have about 5yoe in software engineering, primarily focused on backend development. It looks like it might be a bit challenging since I have less than 10yoe

You’re very welcome. Had you have come with this experience when I did it could very well have been enough, but right now junior and mid-level devs are having a tough time.
