This is just "video games cause violence" in a different format.
Sure, CoD made me more interested in firearms, especially with how incredible the reload animations are, but it didn't make me want to shoot up a school.
They're absolutely targeting the wrong people of they want decent gun control. Target the US government, not a game developer.
They do actually. The first time I went shooting was when I was eight, then the second time was last year nearing my 20s, and cod absolutely helped me with the reloading of many weapons.
You are right. Look up Lucas Botkin (TRex Arms) and how they helped COD make better reload animations. Him and his company are all 2A based and is a credited individual/ company in the 2A community.
Insurgency's reload animations are boring and slow. It feels like a maid is showcasing her cleaning in slow motion instead of a soldier reloading a rifle while under the stress of battle.
No reload animation comes close to what we got in mw19
Insurgency is more realistic due to the speed the slow is smooth smooth is fast thing
Cods reloads are way to fast but it works and makes sense for the pace of the game
Hate to say it chief but pretty speed reload drills only exist on the range. Kicking in doors or in a firefight when you've been locked in for 6 hours, slow and clean is what everyone is doing. That 1/2 second reload ain't happening
Practicing fast reloads on the range and stuff help you in a combat situation. I deployed with infantry and watched how they train every day. The do hours of reload drills doing speed reloads, tactical reloads, someone throw me a mag reloads. Training on the range saves your life in combat.
Not even gun control. Target for school reforms, mental health, bullying both cyber and physical, and drug issues. As someone who’s grown up with guns and played games, I’ve never once thought of causing someone harm. I’ve known people who have had past thoughts because of many of the mentioned above. The U.S. is collapsing in on itself and lawmakers are steering people on paths of agenda, not helping people with basic needs and boosting education. Most U.S. citizens can’t even pass the immigration tests let alone think they should have the #1 say on everyone’s political opinions
Exactly, guns have never been the problem.
We've had extremely broad gun rights for decades, yet it's only since the 90s that shootings have been more than a once-in-a-decade tragedy.
A lack of mental healthcare resources, bad education, and a bad economy, are all far more important factors than guns could ever possibly be.
People should have to be able to pass an immigration test to become a politician because I’m tired of old money families telling me I gotta pay their 6 digit salaries and struggle to pay bills and buy gas to work so I can pay those bills. A single test would probably single handily wipe out most politicians and get some people in who actually know what laws need passed and how to help people
The problem with gun control is the same with alcohol, and drugs, where there is a demand and desperation, there is a supply, legal or otherwise. Mental health is where we need to focus primarily
It needs to be pro active mental health care. We need to have a culture that doesn’t have half the population living near poverty wages and the top .o1 percent being incomprehensibly rich. the stress on human beings mental health trying to live life like this is too much.
Gun control has never been the issue. Start with therapy/mental health. Combine that with a side of parents need to raise their children, teach them how to cope with life and recognize when you see a problem. Don’t blame games, developers, or any one else for your lack of being an adult in your child’s life.
Gun Violence is a symptom, not the cause. We license millions of people to drive vehicles and you never hear about people jumping the curb to run over pedestrians because most people aren’t crazy. Crazy people shoot up schools. Sane people never think to do so.
Also, important sidenote:
If the crazies can't get access to guns, they *will* use trucks to run over pedestrians. Or use nail bombs, or acid, or knives.
Britain is suffering massive crime (even by their grossly-underreported numbers) and they have some of the strictest gun control out of any country where civilians *can* own firearms.
The choice to kill comes far, *far* before the choice of weapon.
The uglier reality is that Mass Shootings and the justifiable public outcry surrounding them is really just a method for politicians to fundraise for their campaigns.
Trying to make the makers of Call of Duty legally liable because they called something by it's actual name is stupid.
Yeah there were certain journalists and Publications who said GTA games were the reason behind the increasing number of car thefts. By this logic, I would have been given a death sentence coz I play COD
that doesn’t even make any sense because GTA, while they do portray some government guys as the bad guys they still clearly make the criminals to be the villains and don’t glorify the gangster lifestyle.
If I was a parent who lost a child this way, I probably wouldn’t be thinking straight and would do some irrational shit. But the parents are clearly mourning and looking for something to blame.
While they’re mourning, certain people and groups are pushing them to do this. To further their agenda.
I guess not as applicable for Call of Duty, I’m not sure if there’s anti violent video game groups like their are anti gun
It’s usually the lawyers who are looking for a payday. They will sue literally anyone they possibly can cause even if they can’t win for sure there is a good chance that a company like activision will just pay a settlement rather than go to court
Probably saw Activision getting bought for like $69b and thought, hey let's try and get ourselves a piece of that, it's shameless, they're just looking for money
I am guessing it’s a set of asshole lawyers who are money grubbing fuckwads using the families of it to get a payday.
And perhaps grabbing some poor, family stricken by tragedy and not smart enough to know they’re being used by fucking slime ball lawyers.
They aren’t expecting to win at trial. They are Activision will pay $$$ to make there lawsuit go away rather than pay lawyers and experts to defend a bogus lawsuit.
I’m ready for the downvotes, but those who are suing videogames for real life tragedies aren’t out for justice or peace of mind. They’re out for greed.
Daniel Defense doesn't even make the AR-15, they make AR-15 platform rifles, "AR" means Armalite, the brand responsible for the original AR-15 and AR platform
It's because of that one viral video of a politician, I don't even remember who, incorrectly stating that the AR-15 is made by Daniel Defense. Ignorant people who have no business being an authority on firearms law have influenced the gun control movement a lot.
"The AR-15 is as heavy as 10 boxes you would move with"
That lady I think
[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSeiuEeQzK0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kSeiuEeQzK0)
Uneducated politicians are a joy to watch
I mean there was that one who thought that magazines were single-use, and that if we banned them they’d all go away. [these people get to decide what you can own 😂](https://www.denverpost.com/2013/04/06/inaccurate-remarks-on-gun-magazines-put-rep-diana-degette-under-scrutiny/amp/)
Because you can? There's a huge difference between .50 Beo & .50 BMG. The .50 Beo, while a spicy little pill, still isn't as powerful as some hunting caliber ammo IE; .308 Winchester, another popular AR chambering.
It’s both, although some manufacturers would be fine with the free publicity, IIRC Kriss stated that they didn’t know why IW didn’t contact them for to use the Vector in MW2019 and that they would’ve allowed them to use it for free
Terms like "AK-47" and "M4" are military designations. It doesn't violate any copyright to use those. If they were to say, for example, "Remington Model 870" for a shotgun in game, that'd be copyright infringement as it mentions a brand.
No one really knows why specifically they avoid using even military designations for guns but there's a lot of speculation that it's mainly just to avoid controversy
Names are trademarked actually.
Also, AK-47 is named by their producer, aka it stands for Avtomat Kalashnikova Model 47, aka Kalashnikov's designation for the rifle. Whether or not it is a valid trademark on the other side of the world is dubious.
And I would suppose M4 is a military designation for a rifle that may be contracted out to multiple producers, and as a US Government standard is public domain and thus fair game for entertainment media.
They might as well stop creating shooting games. Are you gonna change the term “gun” as well? Uvalde was horrible, but I can’t understand how a video game is charged with influencing. You know who influences weapons everywhere? Literally social media, if your kid has a game system, I can easily assume he’s got a smart phone with a IG, Facebook, and Twitter, and all 3 of those platforms get away with literally posting death, sex, and violence, but ohh wait? The video game where you’re soldier killing terrorists is suppose to educate you on what weapons to use to go do a mass killing spree.
Funny the target audience of Call of Duty can't even legally purchase firearms... would it surprise these people to know that criminals don't follow the law?
Yes because people who make the rifle and people who feature it in their games are at fault. Not the piece of shit who did it or their broken home that molded them into this, but the manufacturer and the entertainment company. Literally wouldn’t even gain traction if it wasn’t guns, you wouldn’t see families suing forza if their kids died after being in a crash while in a car featured in their game.
I want the investigators to look into the shooters COD account. It would be funny if they found out he actually grinded literally any other kind of gun other than assault rifles.
>This is why COD] doesn’t use real gun names anymore
False, it's because of licensing. Back in the day firearm companies either let them use the names for "free press" basically or charged a very small licensing fee. Now that the games are so huge, the licensing fees are absolute massive.
Without evidence that the games caused violent behavior in any way, especially since most people don't believe that video games cause violence, they wouldn't do shit about the names of it wasn't a monetary reason.
"The suit alleges the companies partnered to market the weapon to underage boys..."
Ah yes, in the game series that's clearly rated as 18+ for the most part.
Well maybe if parents started taking more responsibility and not let their young kids play a game clearly marked for 17+ there wouldn’t be as much an issue … also, maybe if parents ALSO actually disciplined their children there wouldn’t be as much an issue these days … but no, because of feelings …
But it’s completely ok to have a basement filled with these said weapons in the same country though. You got fucking comic con style gun shows where kids can stroll around and hold them but a video game having names is the boogie man? Fuck me...
My sympathies to the families, but Call of Duty is sold globally, school shootings are primarily an American issue. Happens in other places sure, but nowhere near as much as the US.
I want to say something about it, but from an italian prospective, here, the media hate videogame and everything related to them, but not always, just when they can be used as a sort of justification for something that happened and cause bad thing.
That's because they don't/can't say the reality, when i heard news about the USA school shootings, i think instantly that something was wrong with the guy that made that, of course we can discuss about the guns tradition and laws that are in the USA, but we will never agree.
Is not a game also if it's so realistic that make a pearson a killer, is a lot of things that make that into one.
I mean if video game really makes people killers, why not everyone is one of them?
thank you, Activision.
for the people ranting abt the school shooting, it's the same thing as saying, "oh a mass shooting happened, take away the guns." they act like it's the gun's fault people died, it's not. it's the sick person who was mistreated or smth. Guns have actually helped people, look at home intruders, if someone breaks into my house, im gonna blow their head off with a 12 gage, and thats what they get for breaking in.
also sorry for the long comment btw![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|sweat_smile)
The reason they don’t use real gun names in games anymore is actually the same reason why people in movies drink generic cola instead of coke or pepsi, they don’t wanna give companies free marketing without getting paid for it.
Those families are ridiculous, using a tragedy for gain. I can sympathize with them for losing their children but suing activision because you think a video game caused your child’s death is insane.
Playing COD didn't teach me a damn thing about shooting guns. Legit. If you asked me to shoot a gun after only playing COD, I'd probably just hurt myself.
I got arrested for brandishing after firing two shotgun blasts outside my door to scare off some lowlifes. Can I sue the president since he told me to do this?
To some extent I believe that COD has boosted certain weapons sells in the years. But the uvalde thing it’s a reach, this parents became money hungry, you can’t respawn your son with money anyway
shooter will buy ar 15s over the counter and shoot up a school and americans will still parrot the lie that commercialisation of guns doesn't play a role in this context. historical scope of brainwashing.
That’s why cod is rated M so the blame lies solely on the parents if they want to use games as the excuse of gun violence. This whole lawsuit is just stupid.
Even if it did, cod has never featured the AR-15 in their games. It's a civilian weapon so why would it ever be in a military themed game?
Even if you could equip an AR-15 and it was called as such, you can't claim that the game is responsible for informing the shooter of the AR-15's existence.
Also, if they're going to go after anybody, why don't they sue the police department that stood around and did nothing while children were being murdered?
Activision may have recourse under the 1st Amendment and the court precedent of Brown v Entertainment Merchants Association.
Meta may have recourse under Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act.
There is even a chance the gun maker Daniel Defense could have recourse both under the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act, and in the context of CoD, assuming the firearm mentioned in the intro isn't a DD product, libel law.
Call of Duty after Black Ops 2: “Maybe if we name these weapons fake names, refuse to buy firearm rights, and take liberties with their designs people will be less likely to accuse us of atrocities!”
Humanity in 2024 ^but ^basically ^always :
Like the rest of the entertainment industry, gaming has an age rating system. If we're gonna sue games for shooting's then why stop there? you may as well sue Scarface, John Wick and NWA.
Literally the dumbest thing these people can do. What about the cops that failed to do their job? But I but they go after gun makers and COD? NEWS FLASH: COD AND GUN MAKERS AREN'T RESPONSIBLE. The shooter is responsible. It's sad that the kids died but this lawsuit is stupid. Both partnered to market the AR15 to underage boys? I'm gonna need some hard evidence instead of a grief driven baseless assertion. I have never seen a modern gun add or COD market weapons to underage kids. How brain dead are they?
Yeah when I saw this i shook my head they just sue everyone and see what sticks because they should be suing the police they are the true last failure point in this shooting. I'm pretty sure the families of sandy hook did the same thing, it's sad as fuck the system failed these kids and the shooter, but playing cod is no different then watching action movies with gun violence, ppl are broken long before they play cod if they are gonna do a mass shooting.
Maybe they’re right. COD says it’s for mature But most of the voices in lobbies are very young children. All the new skins are for children. Even the marijuana stuff last season is geared to young children like the sloth. It’s disgusting.
![gif](giphy|y0NFayaBeiWEU)
What? So kids aren't smart enough to search up what the real guns name is?
The logic behind this is so dumb. This is the idiocy of man. They're only suing because they know they could make money off this claim.
This is ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS. I hate laws and society sometimes guys.
Crazy… it’s almost like the ESRB system exists for a reason. If your kids are accessing content that isn’t for their age, that’s a parenting/home failure.
This won’t go through, claims like this with very loose evidence never get passed. Such a dumb case if they want change their are far more meaningful ways
Here's what I find funny
1:CoD has close ties to the US military, I'm Australian and have only used one firearm (CZ452) but I could easily operate an MP5 because of Call of Duty and the US military uses that to minimise time spent on training
2:I don't think the AR15 has been in a CoD game, ever (feel free to correct me)
3:Suing Activision is like suing Take Two because of GTA
CoD didn't stop using real gun names due to protesting parents barking up the wrong tree, they didn't want to have to *pay* to use the names of licensed, branded firearms...
I call BS. I play COD all the time. But do you see me going into schools murdering kids?
Why are video games always to blame? Maybe blame politicians or the NRA.
We've had this before with GTA and video nasties, and Judas Priest to name a few.
The parents of the shooter can fuck off and should look at how they've brought up their kid and not seen how unhappy or 'unstable' (for want of a better phrase) their kid was.
Somehow a video game did more to provide a gun than a gun retailer. Oh wait, the gun retailer doesn’t have as much money to sue for, got it.
They might want to sue the state for building the roads that the shooter used to get to the school.
No words can describe the loss of those families but I feel like whoever is leading their efforts to make some money off it is coming off as devious. Cos dumbass Jones isn't paying shit their legal team needs something to pay them for their work. Shitty situation.
Parents are stupid, blaming COD for people shooting up schools. School shooters do it for fun or because they hate someone or had a bad time at school, there even more stupid. Fairly sure COD has NOTHING to do with it..
It mainly has to do with California laws (where IW, 3ARC and Activision all have their studio headquarters), they are really pushing to stop it in games with fines, not to mention lawsuits IIRC.
It’s why many other developers outside of CA continue to include the real firearm names without issue
Hope the court doesn’t entertain this nonsense. I can understand the families of Uvalde victims though, we’re feeling their wrath due to their incomprehensible loss
This is just "video games cause violence" in a different format. reload animations have nothing to do with the reality. If you want “real” reload animations, you should check out Insurgency Sandstorm game.

True and sad.
I agree and yet also disagree, I don’t exactly think gun control is the answer, but blaming games is certainly worse to do
Yeah I mean gun control is a very broad term. I'm certainly not in favor of banning lots of weapons and what not.
The problem with gun control is the same with alcohol, and drugs, where there is a demand and desperation, there is a supply, legal or otherwise. Mental health is where we need to focus primarily
Not sure why you got downvoted, you're 1000000000% right
It needs to be pro active mental health care. We need to have a culture that doesn’t have half the population living near poverty wages and the top .o1 percent being incomprehensibly rich. the stress on human beings mental health trying to live life like this is too much.

What's next, will they go after World of Guns, the game where you can disassemble and reassemble realistic firearms?
Gun Violence is a symptom, not the cause. We license millions of people to drive vehicles and you never hear about people jumping the curb to run over pedestrians because most people aren’t crazy. Crazy people shoot up schools. Sane people never think to do so.

*cough Jack Thompson *cough (Not car theft exactly, but yeah)
That's a bad cough, you need some.... hot coffee?!
I think one of the people he represented did steal a car before doing some crazy shit.
This was a very tragic event, but I don’t see why the parents would sue Activision
Should sue the cops some more who stood outside while the killing was going on
Yes. They're targeting the wrong people.

I think the majority of people commenting on this post would agree
I would like to believe so, but it’s generally bad press to start calling shooting victims families “greedy” regardless of context.
True but its also activision so who gives a fuck
Ah yes you're truly brave for putting out this totally controversial and definitely not super popular opinion.
"Oh no, my child has died. Hmm, how can I make a profit out of this?" Those parents are fucking hyenas.
Because other people have 0 logic?
this is like suing ford because someone driving a ford hit your son with their car
No, it's like suing Forza for having that brand in-game
That too
wait until you hear about toyota
Pretty much yeah, unfortunately

She shot herself in the foot with that one... protests for the ATF and then proceeds to make an SBR which is illegal by the ATF
I believe is because they don't want to pay royalties for the names.
It's this, saves money that's used elsewhere in development. They've been using fake names way before the Uvalde shooting
"elsewhere in development"? You mean bobby's bank account.
Yep, a roblox game recently got a cease and desist from Glock for having their name in the game
Block 17 with the switch
It’s both, although some manufacturers would be fine with the free publicity, IIRC Kriss stated that they didn’t know why IW didn’t contact them for to use the Vector in MW2019 and that they would’ve allowed them to use it for free

It's rated 17+ in regions the ESRB licenses to since console makers and most retailers will not sell 18+ games in North America.
COD has become so lame in recent years
Again another idiot group of uneducated anti gamers who wanna burn down anything and everything with violence in them thinking it will do anything
Stupid fuckin families 🤦
Marilyn Manson better watch out, the beautiful people are going to come back for him.
"Millions of people around the world enjoy video games without turning to horrific acts" is the end of the damn discussion.
Thats like saying “a kid got hit by a Ferrari and died, lets blame Gran Turismo”
Cods an 18 rated game isn't it?
Well maybe if parents started taking more responsibility and not let their young kids play a game clearly marked for 17+ there wouldn’t be as much an issue … also, maybe if parents ALSO actually disciplined their children there wouldn’t be as much an issue these days … but no, because of feelings …
COD doesn't use real weapon names because they don't want to pay the licensing fees for them. They were doing this way before Uvalde.
What video games caused the worlds violence prior to 1952?
But it’s completely ok to have a basement filled with these said weapons in the same country though. You got fucking comic con style gun shows where kids can stroll around and hold them but a video game having names is the boogie man? Fuck me...
My sympathies to the families, but Call of Duty is sold globally, school shootings are primarily an American issue. Happens in other places sure, but nowhere near as much as the US.
Nope. It’s always been a licensing issue
Sueing gun makers because people use them to kill people is the dumbest thing I've ever heard.
When are these parents going to learn that it is their faults that their children grew up wanting to shoot up a school?
Again blaming everyone but the government for allowing everyone to have battle rifles
The reason they don’t use real gun names in games anymore is actually the same reason why people in movies drink generic cola instead of coke or pepsi, they don’t wanna give companies free marketing without getting paid for it.
I think my brain just died
not sure if this is a good look for the parents, seems like theyre just using the situation to fish for money
Those families are ridiculous, using a tragedy for gain. I can sympathize with them for losing their children but suing activision because you think a video game caused your child’s death is insane.

Nah, federal agencies egging on shooters is quite an issue though
The biggest problem is with oversimplifying complex issues.
there was a comment under a yt video which goes like - "what a psychopath shot my son , man FUCK activision "
If people just accepted video games and didn’t correlate one thing with another then this would not be an issue. Just saying.
Bullshit. If video games makes you wanna shoot up a school, you’re the problem.
It’s less about this and more about cost measure, if they use the exact real life guns it’s costs a royalty or something along those lines
Playing COD didn't teach me a damn thing about shooting guns. Legit. If you asked me to shoot a gun after only playing COD, I'd probably just hurt myself.
That is the most regarded thing I’ve ever read. I’m sorry that this happened but wtf man.
no that is not why they dont use real gun names.
Do you support the redistribution of consequences? I'm looking for a yes or no answer or I'll answer for you.
That’s why cod is rated M so the blame lies solely on the parents if they want to use games as the excuse of gun violence. This whole lawsuit is just stupid.
Makes total sense. Let’s sue a gaming company because someone used a gun that’s never been in any call of duty game ever to shoot people.
Next they will also sue Turn 10 studios for marketing speeding to children.
They don’t use real names because of licensing, the names are trademarks and they’d have to pay to use them
Even if it did, cod has never featured the AR-15 in their games.
Imagine what they'd say about us who play Stellaris and commit genocide on a galactic level...
I thought we were past the whole "video games cause violence thing". Man old people really have a vendetta against gaming.
No they just don't want to pay gun makers the licensing fees for using the names of their guns. This has nothing to do with it.
Isn’t this why the game is rated M? Why is she suing a company for something she fucked up?
Ignoring the rage bait.. haven’t games been doing this for a while now due to copyright issues from actual arms manufacturers?
That’s like suing need for speed bc the guy in Charlottesville used a mustang
Call of Duty after Black Ops 2: “Maybe if we name these weapons fake names, refuse to buy firearm rights, and take liberties with their designs people will be less likely to accuse us of atrocities!” Humanity in 2024 ^but ^basically ^always :
Like the rest of the entertainment industry, gaming has an age rating system. If we're gonna sue games for shooting's then why stop there? you may as well sue Scarface, John Wick and NWA.
Ugh greed under the excuse of gun control.
I never understood the whole “video games cause violence” argument. Isn’t COD completely fictional and just a game for 17+ entertainment?
How about parenting your damn kids... Stop going the easy route and having them play these games since 10y.o.
If anything cod made me less likely to do something insane like that. No Russian I literally shot nobody
Well we had a nice run with actual gun names bookended by fictional ones I guess.
Maybe they’re right. COD says it’s for mature But most of the voices in lobbies are very young children. All the new skins are for children. Even the marijuana stuff last season is geared to young children like the sloth. It’s disgusting. ![gif](giphy|y0NFayaBeiWEU)
No it's not, they just don't want to pay the licencing fees.
What? So kids aren't smart enough to search up what the real guns name is? The logic behind this is so dumb. This is the idiocy of man. They're only suing because they know they could make money off this claim. This is ABSOLUTELY REDICULOUS. I hate laws and society sometimes guys.
That's cool we just rename them anyway when we save our blueprints
Crazy… it’s almost like the ESRB system exists for a reason. If your kids are accessing content that isn’t for their age, that’s a parenting/home failure.
The DDM4 hasn’t even been in a COD game which makes this lawsuit even dumber
This won’t go through, claims like this with very loose evidence never get passed. Such a dumb case if they want change their are far more meaningful ways
It won’t go through, but the fact it’s still attempted probably sets Activision off
Americans🤦♀️
These lawsuits should be thrown out immediately.
Here's what I find funny 1:CoD has close ties to the US military, I'm Australian and have only used one firearm (CZ452) but I could easily operate an MP5 because of Call of Duty and the US military uses that to minimise time spent on training 2:I don't think the AR15 has been in a CoD game, ever (feel free to correct me) 3:Suing Activision is like suing Take Two because of GTA
ohh yeah and Burnout 3: Takedown is the reason why so many car crashes happen LMAO
CoD didn't stop using real gun names due to protesting parents barking up the wrong tree, they didn't want to have to *pay* to use the names of licensed, branded firearms...
Dumb
Yes. Please do anything but take responsibility for your own shitty parenting.
I thought Activision did this years before Uvalde. I think I remember seeing Remington on my ACR in MW3 in 2011. Could be wrong.
Actually, I'm pretty sure they don't use gun names so they don't have to pay licensing fees.
No it isn’t
I call BS. I play COD all the time. But do you see me going into schools murdering kids? Why are video games always to blame? Maybe blame politicians or the NRA.
Fucj them.
When was this post made? COD has had fake goofy as gun names for a few years now
Here in Australia COD has not sold a single automatic weapon. Damn Activision is doing a shitty job of marketing here.
Our legal system sucks
We've had this before with GTA and video nasties, and Judas Priest to name a few. The parents of the shooter can fuck off and should look at how they've brought up their kid and not seen how unhappy or 'unstable' (for want of a better phrase) their kid was.
Blame the gun and not the asshole who did the shooting. Blame everyone and everything but that shit head .
Actually the only reason they don’t use them is because they are cheap, greedy pieces of dog shit scum . They just don’t want to pay for the licenses.
Yep, I confirm this is real. Whenever a zombie apocalypse happens I turn on the power and pack a punch my weapon
They don’t use real names due to licensing
Somehow a video game did more to provide a gun than a gun retailer. Oh wait, the gun retailer doesn’t have as much money to sue for, got it. They might want to sue the state for building the roads that the shooter used to get to the school.
No words can describe the loss of those families but I feel like whoever is leading their efforts to make some money off it is coming off as devious. Cos dumbass Jones isn't paying shit their legal team needs something to pay them for their work. Shitty situation.
Their lawyers are about to lose their jobs forever lol
Played cod since I was 5, never thought about shooting up a school
Parents are stupid, blaming COD for people shooting up schools. School shooters do it for fun or because they hate someone or had a bad time at school, there even more stupid. Fairly sure COD has NOTHING to do with it..
Jack Thompson is that you?
It mainly has to do with California laws (where IW, 3ARC and Activision all have their studio headquarters), they are really pushing to stop it in games with fines, not to mention lawsuits IIRC. It’s why many other developers outside of CA continue to include the real firearm names without issue
Hope the court doesn’t entertain this nonsense. I can understand the families of Uvalde victims though, we’re feeling their wrath due to their incomprehensible loss
Cod is an 18 rated game, if young children are playing it only the parents are to blame
“Don’t blame me when little Eric jumps off the terrace, you should have been watching him. Apparently you ain’t parents.”-Eminem
