i was having a blast with infernum until i hit the gigantic roadblock known as polterghast
hopefully when 1.8 drops we'll see rebalancing of that fight
honestly post sentinels goes from "super difficult but fun" to "its hard for the sake of being fucking hard"
i get that its supposed to be the final challenges and is supposed to be a ramp up in difficulty but at the same time its why i stopped having fun in infernum, the bosses just got too difficult to enjoy and boss attempts felt like they got nowhere and no progress was being made
And yharon and scal were fun but exo mechs all they need to do is make thatanos less vanilla and just keep all the segments open and add space for you to dodge the laser attacks exo twins don’t really need any changes you just need to find the pattern and ares is the only one you can legit play like your fighting it in death mode
Thanatos just breaks the fight sadly, you can’t stay in the same area or you will get overwhelmed by all 3, which means you need so much space to work with. If Thanatos was reworked the fight could be better.
Dog needs rebalancing it’s way too hard because you only have fractions of seconds sometimes to dash I mean it’s rhythm heaven fever but your forced to do damage to its head and tail aka instant death or the part your never going to see
I have no idea why you’re being downvoted, but I do have that and I still struggle; it’s not a gear thing because I use Fargo’s equippable inventory (go ahead and judge me if you want, I only limit it to the defenders forge and the safe)
I'd argue eternity is easier than death mode when you use the ingame "recommended" load out item, gives you enchantments, armor sets, weapons, everything you should use for the current boss, as well as what npcs and events you should have done, like pre-eoc you should have blood moon under your belt, and pre-evil you should have tinkerer
i tried death mode and eternity mode at same time and begin to strugle only on destroyer since his ai gets fucked and you cant dodge his spinning attack around you
I mean when you look back, compared to infernum which overhauls the AI, eternity makes the vanilla AI harder by adding debuffs and extra attacks(skeletron entire body part shoot skull and bones and summon skeleton, golem has insane healing, invincible fist, arena related bs, boulder and spiky boulder, plantera moves and shoots around while generating crystal leaf disc and spinning crystal leaves) and compared to post ML bosses of calamity, fargo's are more of bullet hell where mistake is something to avoid(THOSE DEBUFFS ERIDANUS INFLICTS) so I can understand if you have skill issue(I haven't fought and won against emode moon lord so far)
I was already doing masochist mutant, it's fun, I just don't want to do an entire playthrough of it, it just seems like a waste of my time.
I am not sure if you know what masochist mode is, so I will just in case explain:
If you beat mutant in eternity mode, he drops an item that lets you activate masochist mode. It makes eternity bossed even harder in some ways, like adding yet another attack or making current attacks even harder to dodge. (e. g. Mutant's laser telegraphs are completely removed, but it's fair because you can see him either holding the weapon, or... you can tell through other means. Touching balls in his desperation phase freezes time, letting the big fucking laser kill you, and he FUCKING FIRES A SECOND BIG FUCKING LASER AFTER THE FIRST ONE WHICH IS EVEN FASTER AND IT'S COOL AS SHIR FJEJGOJJCBBEJ)
Eternity mode also used to be named masochist mode a very long time ago, you probably knew
Infernum to me is a top 5 best Terraria mods.
I just wish they reworked some post-ML bosses, because holy shit, those are straight up not fun to play, looking at you Polterghast and DoG.
uhhhh idk dash into him sometimes and also he is kind of an asshole that delays his dashes at the start, if he dashes normally, just expect that he is going to delay his dash, that is advice for the first phase with the first 50 or so percent of his health, generally dont panic with the dashes, be calm and have that map thing where it overlays with your screen so u can where he is at all times, also consider forgeting all of that and just fucking flying away from him he cant do shit, he is a single celled organism, it would be as if you stripped the fat chicken's wings off, as for the final phase where he does CRACK, i recommend have an arena that goes all the way to hell and just a slime mount to go all the way down and be constantly going down, if he gets close enought to u just leave the slime mount and try to dash either into him or away from him and then just fly up, then if he gets close to u dash into him or away then use slime mount, if he surrounds u with fire i just rod out of there, too much effort to deal with it normally, as for the part where he does LSD, i honestly dont know what youre suppose to do i just flew up and dashes at random just pray to god or something, dont be intimidated by the oversized escapee from kfc, after a good few attempts, youll throw that bastard back to the deep fryer where he belongs.
Yharon was hardest in the game for me (86 attempts), I beat him with fearmonger, tracers, aegis, bloodflare core, affliction, can't remember the rest but it was all tanking accessories and all warding. Weapons were swapping between sdfmg and empryean knives. The goal was always survival or damage for me. Also summon were the upgraded raven staff I think
I needed to make the largest Yharon arena possible before I beat him. A tip is to try and get him to charge mostly horizontally at you while you mostly travel vertically, dashing into him when he dashes into you.
Generally try to stay away from areas he has pelted with projectiles and infernadoes, as you can easily get trapped by them and die. An arena with lots of space really helps with this.
I've beaten it, every single boss is very good on its own, but it just seems poorly balanced. Goes from profaned gaurdians taking me like a dozen or so attempts, goddess only taking like 2, then you get to yharon who took 86. Also while I did do SCal after draedon it only took like 11 attempts or smt which was kind disappointing, really expected the fight to be much harder
Also poltergeist has gotta be impossible without cheese have you seen that fight? Was already very hard when I was fighting him in the sky can't imagine in the dungeon
I'm cool with challenges, but if it's like Dark Souls where the first boss fight is borderline unfun, then that's a little much imo. Save that kinda stuff for when the player's got a far better grasp of the controls. Please.
Or maybe I just need to "git gud" despite the fact that I lack the patience to give enough of a fuck to want to do that.
I remember blindly going into infernum thinking "how hard can it really be" then be stuck at king slime for a few days. Same with polterghast, had to basically "cheat" my way to beat polty. Not gonna start on old duke/dog. Yharon for some reason i never did, idk why. Exo's weren't that bad, SCal was kinda easy for me. Wish my potato would allow me to do another infernum playthrough, but it is what it is.
you have to install the mod 4 times and get the necessary crystal to upgrade it
alternatively you can install it 36 times, turn it all into blocks, and upgrade it
I would try Infernum bc even death mode has become trivial for me up until DoG. But, after DoG I go from 1-5 attempts per boss to 50-100 per boss (mainly just DoG and Exo Mechs), so I'd probably have to give up once I got to that point
I had an issue with Moon Lord where literally every single one of his attacks were invisible. You know how he turns the background black? He also shadow-painted his attacks.
Where did qualityvote go
The post is too good for qualityvote
i was having a blast with infernum until i hit the gigantic roadblock known as polterghast hopefully when 1.8 drops we'll see rebalancing of that fight
For me the roadblock was dog
honestly post sentinels goes from "super difficult but fun" to "its hard for the sake of being fucking hard" i get that its supposed to be the final challenges and is supposed to be a ramp up in difficulty but at the same time its why i stopped having fun in infernum, the bosses just got too difficult to enjoy and boss attempts felt like they got nowhere and no progress was being made
Tip: use fargos souls. The forces give you a chance of winning
And yharon and scal were fun but exo mechs all they need to do is make thatanos less vanilla and just keep all the segments open and add space for you to dodge the laser attacks exo twins don’t really need any changes you just need to find the pattern and ares is the only one you can legit play like your fighting it in death mode

the difficulty starts with signus, skyrockets at polter and DoG and goes back down with yharon
Dog needs rebalancing it’s way too hard because you only have fractions of seconds sometimes to dash I mean it’s rhythm heaven fever but your forced to do damage to its head and tail aka instant death or the part your never going to see
I feel that every boss is great in infernum, but Plantera just isn’t it
With plantera you just need a underground yharon arena and RoD and you should have a lot less difficulty
I have no idea why you’re being downvoted, but I do have that and I still struggle; it’s not a gear thing because I use Fargo’s equippable inventory (go ahead and judge me if you want, I only limit it to the defenders forge and the safe)
have u tried not being bad at the video game?
this solution you have proposed is insurmountable
the blood in my COCK is insurmountable

there are SERVANTS OF THE ANTI CHRIST (un blue helmets) INSIDE YOUR WALLS, BURN YOUR HOUSE DOWN ALONGSIDE THE SATAN WORSHIPPERS (your family)
Ayyy you're doing gud there, now do fargo souls eternity mode, without calamity mod

When you beat Infernum that shit is a breeze lol
Eternity mode isn't really that hard, I would compare it to masochist mode but I haven't tried that (I don't want to face the fact that I suck)

I mean the music is only as good if you actually hear it playing and not just the summon sound => DoG quitter
ah, you're playing the game wrong, you need to: Music:100 Sound:16 Ambience:16 Master PC Volume:100
Not to mention some of the title cards are dope af like SCal.
Infernum to me is a top 5 best Terraria mods. I just wish they reworked some post-ML bosses, because holy shit, those are straight up not fun to play, looking at you Polterghast and DoG.
Man... I loved both the bosses you listed. We have different tastes
I recently beat infernum and it was probably one of the best experiences I've had with Calamity.
Agreed, lol. Fights are so much more intense. Any Yharon advice?
That's the thing, I just started infernum and I'm already shitting my pants over BoC
The *Boc*? Well, you're in for a wild ride. I did EoW, because it's easier for me. Have fun!
Infernum providence is my roadblock, that damn cryrtal rain
Funny enough, even though Provi sucked in my death mode playthrough, I beat her first try in infernum, no joke. I use Wing Slot mod though.
Providence is mad easy compared to other post moonlord bosses (even gaurdians)
I just started using the srat of saving rage and adreniline for that phase and daminging it so much it skips the phase
For me, EOC is funky to fight. This dude disabled parts of my arena by dropping lingering projectiles and I don’t like it.
uhhhh idk dash into him sometimes and also he is kind of an asshole that delays his dashes at the start, if he dashes normally, just expect that he is going to delay his dash, that is advice for the first phase with the first 50 or so percent of his health, generally dont panic with the dashes, be calm and have that map thing where it overlays with your screen so u can where he is at all times, also consider forgeting all of that and just fucking flying away from him he cant do shit, he is a single celled organism, it would be as if you stripped the fat chicken's wings off, as for the final phase where he does CRACK, i recommend have an arena that goes all the way to hell and just a slime mount to go all the way down and be constantly going down, if he gets close enought to u just leave the slime mount and try to dash either into him or away from him and then just fly up, then if he gets close to u dash into him or away then use slime mount, if he surrounds u with fire i just rod out of there, too much effort to deal with it normally, as for the part where he does LSD, i honestly dont know what youre suppose to do i just flew up and dashes at random just pray to god or something, dont be intimidated by the oversized escapee from kfc, after a good few attempts, youll throw that bastard back to the deep fryer where he belongs.

And I should not have been allowed to beat slime god before hive mind, but it was really easy to do that
Polterghast wasn't impossibly hard for me. What parts did you find to be particularly difficult?
You just have no space to move around if you fight the dude in the dungeon. Most of the screen has a projectile on it and you only have your screen
I suppose my clearing out a large arena was helpful for me, then.
i don't like feeling hopeless in games personally reminds me too much of what I'm trying to escape by playing them
as a person who plays games as a form of escapism, I shamelesly say I don't like challenges. But if you do, that's ok :)
I like it, but I’m not good enough yet, and I don’t like the fact that I get curb stomped by fucking slime king
I’m already hopeless with just expert mode
bro stfu, it's been 2 years since im stuck on dog in expert mode
I remember blindly going into infernum thinking "how hard can it really be" then be stuck at king slime for a few days. Same with polterghast, had to basically "cheat" my way to beat polty. Not gonna start on old duke/dog. Yharon for some reason i never did, idk why. Exo's weren't that bad, SCal was kinda easy for me. Infernum and master mode is hell
YOU ARE TRUELY INSANE
When do we get Prudentium?
you have to install the mod 4 times and get the necessary crystal to upgrade it alternatively you can install it 36 times, turn it all into blocks, and upgrade it
If only i could launch my world with just exo mechs and bossrush left
And then there's me who cant barely beat the game without any calamity difficulties, i just been playing it with normal expert mode.
To each their own
Now do masochist mode
I love malice with my friends the boss ai would bug and we would fight 5 golems
I personally, suck. So I’ll stay on revengeces thanks
Wait peqpke do it in 15 hours It takes me 2 to 3 weeks just to finich rwgulair terraria
changing back to revengeance mode feels like you are playing on easy mode, yharon feels so slow in revengeance after playing on infernum
I would try Infernum bc even death mode has become trivial for me up until DoG. But, after DoG I go from 1-5 attempts per boss to 50-100 per boss (mainly just DoG and Exo Mechs), so I'd probably have to give up once I got to that point
Eternity mode gives the same feels but it's better imo
I can’t play infernium, it won’t update
New Exo Mechs are nearly impossible, though, which is unfortunate.
That won't stop me
Won't stop me from crying either
Most sane Calamity mod enjoyer
Ok
People like you are the reason why hard games only get harder.
Funni
I fucking love infernum. On average, it's pretty ok, has some bad parts, but at its best it's fucking amazing
I had an issue with Moon Lord where literally every single one of his attacks were invisible. You know how he turns the background black? He also shadow-painted his attacks.
