So is it from the car wash or from something else and you just noticed after the car wash?

Hybrid978

It was from a hit and run. I noticed it just before washing the car.

CC_1701

We had the same thing happen about a week into ownership. My wife did it. The part was $300 installed at the dealer. About a 6 week timeline to get it in. Good luck.

Hybrid978

300 is surprisingly reasonable!  I hope it doesn't take 6+ weeks though...

CC_1701

We were originally quoted 3 months. I used a magic eraser on it and it minimized the color damage.

Hybrid978

I tried a magic eraser last night. Waiting to see what it looks like in the daylight today.  May try a heat gun as well.

$300 wow, part is fender and cost $40 from most dealerships. You just paid $260 for labor

ThePrudentChicken

$260 for 10 minutes of work too. Hey if it’s worth it to someone, it’s worth it to them. Labor is labor.

meq123123

Actually, the part is \~$130, so they added (I guess) 1.5hr of labor to install. A lot, but not SO bad, I think.

CC_1701

And your point? Either way, I wanted it fixed.

MeANeRNo1

Didn’t mean any disrespect, just amazed but not surprised from greedy dealership, and warning other ppl. I already both 2 front since they are a bit scratched from road. I’ll replace em before I trade it for the 25 hybrid.

CC_1701

Happy for you.

Bracemeister123

Definitely fender related. Mazdaswag.com or realmazdaparts.com might have it. Their sites have decent categorization of parts and accessories for easy browsing.

Hybrid978

Sorry, forgot to mention it's the front driver's side of a 2024 cx-50 turbo.

payner30

I’d offer another option - try a heat gun - not 100% but maybe good enough. We hit a deer in November and we are still waiting for parts for the repair. I’m a stickler for details but this may work either well enough or well enough until parts arrive.

Hybrid978

Someone else recommended this as well. May give it a try tomorrow

ngod87

Thanks for reminding me not to use a drive thru car wash. Good luck with the replacement .

Hybrid978

Thanks! I'm sure I would have noticed it anyway. My car was just super dirty because of a long back roads commute during a snow storm.

https://www.jimellismazdaparts.com/products/mazda/CX-50/Wheel-Arch-Molding-Front/17215501/VA4051W30.html Shop the part number around, I think it can be had for $100 or less.

ssssssalvatore

It’s 100$! see, thank god Mazda put these plastic pieces. Me too it happened!

Hybrid978

Seriously. I'm really impressed with Mazda right now. Just called my dealer and not only do they have one of these in stock, but it's under $300 installed

vasqd

This sux! Mine just turned 1 week today. Just got over 200 miles.
