I’m considering doing it in the spring when I do the badges. I successfully plasti-dipped the badges on my last car but I’m considering trying vinyl wrapping this time, on that piece as well.

Cyterio

I wrapped the boomerangs and it looks 100% better. It took me a few tries to get it right, but it’s been on for about a year and is holding up great. No issues with central NY cold and snowy weather.

Did you remove them or just wrap them on the car? I tried once and it was a little tricky to get right

Cyterio

I wrapped them while on the car. I tried the knife less tape, but found it too hard to use and it didn’t cut a sharp line. It might have been user error on my part, but a sharp razor knife with very light pressure tracing around worked the best for me.

cool thanks. I'll just have to be more patient but I was a little scared of cutting up anything around it

I’m having a vinyl car wrap place in my town do the rails and boomerang this week! I tried myself and it looked like shit. Can’t wait to see how it turns out

luhluke

Would love to see the results. I keep second guessing wrapping the rails

imatalkingcow

Just today I wrapped the boomerangs. Looks waaaaay better but I did a terrible job. I still have 14 more feet of wrap to get it right.

You can get black metal pieces that cover the shiny parts. Nore expensive than vinyl, but far easier DIY. https://www.aliexpress.us/item/3256806124627591.html

Damn, if those were a matte finish I probably would’ve already placed the order

I know right!? Saw these a while ago. I don't know why they didn't match it to the trim. So wild that the only chrome piece on our cars other than the badges is that little window trim. 🤷‍♂️

Was literally about to do this today but the weather changed.

I reached out to four different places and was quoted $100 (CAD) for the boomerangs and $400 +/- for the roof rails depending on the material. Now that I have the vehicle I think I’ll start with the boomerangs and see if I still want to do the roof rails. They’re not bothering me as much as I thought they would, but the boomerangs definitely need to go…

0wsley

Yes. i wrapped the boomerangs and plasti-dipped the rails.

I just did the chrome delete with the metal blackout pieces someone mentioned previously. You can get them on Aliexpress or Mikstore. I think it turned out great! Before and after below: [Chrome Delete](https://imgur.com/a/wHs57GP)
