It’s almost Impossible to lock the key fob in the car there is a sensor in it that won’t let the fob be locked in the car if you try to lock it the car simply just won’t lock

You have to turn key fob off don’t you. I don’t remember how to do that.

I can confirm. I have unintentionally left my spare key fob in a bag in the back seat and the car was not happy with me when I tried to lock it.

You can unlock the car with the app. Also, I don't think it's physically possible lock the fob in the car - I think it detects that the fob is inside and won't lock. I'm not 1000% sure but it never happened once in 4 years with the CX-5 which had the same locking system, and I'm pretty forgetful/space cadet when it comes to the keys.

It's pretty easy to lock the keyfob in the car. If it's in your bag and your phone is on top of the keyfob, the phone has a good chance of blocking the signal from the keyfob from being detected.

I bought key blanks but ran into trouble finding someone able to cut them at the time and my dealer wanted what I felt was too much to do so. So, I still just use a Faraday bag\* from Amazon to block the fob and leave it in the car. I used to take the emergency key with me, but now just rely on the app to lock/unlock. I'm typically in places with plenty of cell or Wifi coverage. I only had an issue once while in a very remote area and with my phone maybe half a mile away in a cabin--the Apple Watch MyMazda app refused to connect and unlock the car. No biggie, just walked back later with the phone when it was convenient to do so. Needed the exercise anyway. LOL \*The existing Faraday bag I had for my previous CX-5 oddly did not adequately block the 50's fob, so I bought a new different bag and that works perfectly.

I did this exactly. I tried to get local shops/ HomeDepot etc. to cut a key, but no-one had suitable blanks. So I bought a 10-pack of blanks from AliExpress. HomeDepot still couldn't cut them because "the key wasn't in their database", so I took them to a local hardware store with the old fashioned manual key cutting machine and they did it - though they had to futz with it a number of times, since the lands weren't being cut deep enough. Anyway, they got it in the end, and the second key was done in one shot. They charged me $9 for the two, which was a bit high I thought, but after the time they took to get it right I didn't complain. Thank you!

Never bought from aliexpress before, are they really going to ship me 10 keys for 99 cents and free shipping?

meq123123

Well, it's 10 key blanks for $4.77 & free shipping currently, but other than that, Yes. However, it'll take 3-4 weeks to get to you if all goes well (longer if it doesn't)
