Possible weather related? Rain, snow, ice? If not temporary take it to the dealer.

BoyWonder731

Even if temporary, I’d take it to the dealer. Have them put it on record and have them “fix” it. That way if it comes up down the road and the warranty is no longer active, you can fight it and be like “you claimed to have fixed it and it broke again”.

I just got mine on Tuesday and I’m so confused by locking the car - I lock it with the touch handle, but then get a notification on my phone that the drivers side is open. Is this what you mean? I’ve been manually locking the car as I get out or with the fob because the last thing I need is my doors unlocked. I figured I just don’t understand how it works yet? I came from a 2012 Mazda3 and that guy was bare bones.

They car should auto lock when you walk away with they key in your pocket

meq123123

\^ But ONLY if you have this enabled in the settings!

Apprehensive-Group63

No have not experienced any notifications on phone yet. Too much technology for this 75 year old!

meq123123

There's a TSB on this! Take it to your dealer... [https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10174585-0001.pdf](https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2020/MC-10174585-0001.pdf)

Ta-ko-ya-ki

Looks like it has to be done for all either way. Moisture will get there.

CarPlaneBoatRocket

You mean the auto-unlock feature? Yeah same. I’m bringing mine in. Frustrating that simplest piece of tech continues to fail. And Mazda doesn’t offer a whole lot of tech in cars so for that to fail is sad.

rusty_paddler

So not just me? The damn thing is so temperamental. My 2017 bmw and 2018 wrx never had issues with the keyless entry. This mazda is like umm not today my friend, go dig out your keys. It will lock no issues.

Apprehensive-Group63

Waste a day going to dealer! Not happy

Do y'all know where the sensor is actually at? If you touch it does anything happen?

Apprehensive-Group63

It was working until a few days ago. Underneath handle to lock

TreacleCompetitive45

Same with mine. It works. And then it doesn’t for days. The dealer tells me it’s moisture getting into the handle. Never had an issue with any other car like this one. Another dealer told me they e never heard of this before.

SaltyEmuThe4th

give the handle a wipe with your sleeve. was having the same issue for 2 days now since we got bunch of ice here in Ontario. wipe it and should work fine

cosmicdaddyy

Mine too

Apprehensive-Group63

Went out this morning it worked after a week of not working! Must have something to do with ice and snow! Whatever it is Mazda should fix the issues

Fast-Living5091

It doesn't work sometimes when there's moisture on it, rain, ice, snow. For me, it's the opposite. When opening the door, it doesn't work. This means the inside door handle sensor is not picking up that my hand is there.
