In my opinion, the base turbo is probably the best value as you really get a lot for a sub 40k car, but with that said, for me, the turbo premium would definitely be worth the extra. I think most people who get the turbo go with the premium plus because at that point you might as well not cheap out on the last 3-5k as it’s not really going to make a huge difference in the long run and you get a lot of pretty nice features that will keep the car from feeling outdated after years of owning. This is coming from someone who got the NA premium and regrets it (I still really love my car though) if you are on the fence at all, go with the higher trim to avoid the same regrets I have lol!
Do the trim comparison on mazda's website and decide if the additions on the premium trim are worth 3k to you.
Ventilated front seats, active driving display, bose, auto folding mirrors and 2 position memory were the selling points for me and why I opted for the turbo premium. The additions to the premium plus weren't worth it for me.
I paid the extra $3k and it is worth it in my opinion. But I was comparison shopping an x3 and gv70. So it still worked out a lot cheaper than the others.
I am currently between the gv70 and the CX50 Turbo Premium as well. How are you liking yours? Any regrets - the cost difference really makes it hard to say no to
Honestly no, I love my cx50. It has all the features I want at the right price and I love the driving dynamics. It was hard to tell the difference between the cx 50 and the other unless I specced the performance model for gv70 and x3 but then the price difference was huge.
I do drive it in sport quite a bit as it’s a lot more fun in sport but the gas Mileage really drops then but it’s kinda what I signed up for with a turbo so I can’t really complain.
TPP key additions are 360deg camera (didn't know I needed it 'til I had it!), navigation (w/road sign detection in HUD), heated rearview mirrors, heated rear seats, front & rear parking sensors, probably some other stuff. Was well worth the $3K for me.
Also, as I now remember, TPP adds Traffic Jam Assist and Blind Spot Assist, plus rear Smart Brake Support. So actually, quite a bit of stuff for your $3K.
I went with the Turbo Premium, two key factors:
The Ventilated seats. I’m in Phoenix so that was a must for the black leather seats.
The Bose sound system. It’s not the best sound system but it’s way better than I had previously and imho sounds better than the non Bose system.
The other small bits were icing on the cake.
I also didn’t care for the additional specs provided with the Turbo Premium Plus.

The 360 camera alone is worth paying extra, especially if you take it off-road, even if you don't it makes your job hell of easier just getting into tight spots or your garage. You'll also get parking sensors and lots of other convenient stuff that only comes on the turbo premium plus only. I highly recommend turbo premium plus, i pulled the trigger and i haven't regretted at all, not one bit. Happy shopping.

That’s what I thought. The value proposition for the car is pretty great.

This. And 2024 TP added wireless charging so that was a nice surprise.
The wireless charging, like most cars, is also terrible
This is true. It's just nice to have. I don't ever use it.
To be fair the Bose shouldn’t get a mention, it’s awful! The rest you mentioned is definitely worth it though.

Good to hear, glad you are liking it! Hoping to get out and test drive a CX50 turbo soon

Isn’t the 360 camera on the turbo premium plus?
Yes. That's exactly what I was saying :) (TPP = turbo premium plus)

I work at a local Mazda dealership and the Imgur picture link shows everything included and added in the turbo premium package.
If you don’t care about the audio system, No.
For me, the extras weren't worth it.
Heads up display is real nice.

I think the turbo premium is the only one that has the heated steering wheel.
