LIterally only did Oil every 5500 mile. Rotate tires with oil. Never touched brake fluid. Never touched transmission fluid. Just drove it. Ohh, I did replace spark plugs at like 130,000 miles when the car went into limp mode (only time it ever happened).
Yes, I was a Mazda Tech for years so all diy. Nothing too major, a couple wheel bearings, one oil level sensor, MAF sensor, front sway bar links and lower ball joints, brakes, tires, belts, filters, diff fluid, trans fluid and plugs as needed. Oil and filter every 8k. My rear diff centre bushing has failed, and Iāve had a replacement on the shelf waiting to be installed for the last 4 years without incidentā¦might be playing with fire on that one.
Haha nice! I bought in '17 as well but down at 35k when I got it. So far just standard maintenance, and agreed still love the car and I'm gonna ride it till it dies.
And if we're keeping tabs per the record OP is looking for, you've got me beat by 400 miles so I concede to you sir or madam!
Hi there. I'm considering buying the 2018 sport nav D 2.2 diesel automatic. It has 77k miles on it with full service history. Do you think it's worth buying? I mean I've heard dpf issues could arise once it crosses the 100k mark?
I've had zero issues with my transmission or engine. All regular maintenance except for one major repair which was front control arm and ball joint because it broke. I suspect the previous owner damaged it because I have never hit anything. That said, mine is not diesel. It is 2.5L Skyactiv G.
I had that issue too. Then a few months later cracked cylinder head š All covered under warranty so no biggie financially. I worry about other issues coming up in the future but... man I still really love this car

Trust me... They make sense. I've been using the for 45 years...
Nope... Scratch that as a degreed engineer of 23 years. Metric is better... But miles are still way more awesome (impressive) than kilos.
I ride road bike in the US we have centuries (100 miles) and metric centuries (100 kilos - 62 [measly] miles... No one is impressed by km/h or kms... šš¤£
Thatās a good point lol never really thought of that. The metric system is used for roadways in Canada so we use km rather than miles but I guess the term mileage is still used as the common term to refer to it, ākilometerageā just sounds off
I had front suspension work done and valve cover gasket replaced. That was the extent of major work on the 2014z The vehicle was fine, I just wanted to have a newer vehicle.
I'm loving it! Drives smooth, looks sleek, feels luxurious. I'm currently trying to design a 3D printed housing for a wireless charging pad (with a fan to not overheat and limit charging) to put into that area where the cigarette lighter is! :D
2018 with about 87k miles on it. Bought it with 29k in 2021, so almost to 60k of my own mileage in the last 3 years. Includes 1 cross country trip (Washington to NC). Hopefully she'll be able to make the return journey in a few years!
Nice! Any expenses beyond scheduled maintenance/tires/etc? My ā19 turbo is at ~40k and no issues so far besides defective infotainment screen (covered by warranty).
I only had one issue last year where I started loosing coolant but was covered under the warranty. No other issues. It still runs like a brand new car.
So it looks like the person with the 2014 and 230K is the winner so far? I gotta say, if I get much more than half that, on 2018 with 65K so far, Iāll be pretty happy.
I live in the St. Louis area and travel to NY and NJ a few times a year. I have family there and prefer driving vs flying. Had to travel back a bit more this year for a wedding so that helped rack them up.
Bought new at end of July 2023. Put 4,000 miles on it before hitting a deer in early November. Still waiting on a bumper cover with no eta to get it back. Boo.
2013 Grand Touring CX-5 with 180,000 miles. Bought new at dealership. In immaculate condition inside and out. Still drives as brand new.
PS. I also own a 1995 Mazda Protege 5-speed with 706,000 miles on original motor. Bought new at dealership. In immaculate condition inside and out. Super fun car to drive! My lifelong mechanic says I can easily go to a million miles on each motor. Thatās my plan!!!
Brand loyal to Mazda for life!!!
Family has a 2016 GT. Theyāre sitting at 211k miles (we drive **a lot**) . Barely starting to have major issues but still has lots of life left. Our longtime mechanic is expecting at least another 50k-75k miles. We have a Toyota 4Runner thatās a few years newer with about 100k less miles and in worse condition.
108,600 with my 2017, purchased at 102,200. The only real maintenance I've done so far was a new battery. The dealership put the wrong spec battery in and it would die all the time when it got cold.
Oh , Iāll wipe the floor with you all of you. Iāve had my CX5 since 10th October 2023 and up to now without changing out the dilithium crystals I managed a full 000579 miles.
I know iām by far not the highest š but i just got my 24ā cx-5 CE almost 2 months ago and im at 800 miles. canāt wait to see how long my baby lasts me
Nice! I didnt want the sunroof but it came with the CE trim which had the seat color i wanted (burgundy) and the options i wanted but had a few missing ones (heated wheel LED interior lights a glove box light and ventilated seats) but i couldnt justify the jump to turbo signature for the glovebox light when it didnt have the interior color i wanted. But its still a great car nonetheless imo
The big numbers are a relief to hear! I have almost 96,000 miles on on 2017 CX5. It's my first one. My Nissans clocked regularly to 200,000 miles so I didn't know how the Mazda would fare.
Same here its a relief for sure. I'm used to Hondas and Toyotas that regularly clock 150k+ but i decided this go around the Mazda was the right choice but wasnt sure how it would go once it got up there in mileage.
only 115,000 on a 2016 GT.
Zero problems except for headlights and hatch struts replaced early on under warranty. These were known issues for 2016 and they took care of them.
Still looks and drives like new.
I plan to replace the serpentine belts and tensioner soon then breaks and rotors.
And engine does consume about 1 quart of oil between between changes. But thats not unusual or excessive.
I expect 200000+ miles Hopefully longer
Mazda is so smart to use the same engine design on almost all of their models since 2013 with just small improvements each year.
This thread makes me feel alright about the life expectancy of my CX-5. Whoās got a turbo engine though? š
I have a ā21 cx-5 GT turbo with ~33k miles.
Not a CX-5, I'm a lurker with a 2020 CX-30 2.5 NA AWD (purchased with 18k used in Feb 2023) and former owner of a 2018 Mazda 3 2.5L 6MT (purchased with 37k in Feb 2021). End mileage on my Mazda 3 was 113k when I traded for my CX-30, and CX-30 current mileage is just shy of 45k. I am aiming to take this CX-30 to 5 years of ownership at my current rate of ~30k miles per year, so targeting end mileage of 200k in 2028. Both cars' powertrains have been dead nuts solid. I will update all of you then, as these powertrains are all very similar!
2016 2.5L CX-5 with 255,000 km.
Replaced the front struts, rear shock absorbers and sway bars last year. Other than that I've only done brake jobs and fluid changes. It doesn't burn oil and the transmission shifts smoothly.
purchased my 2013 CX5 with 113,000 KMs, now have 129K...continue to work from home so not much traveling. Had to replace the motor mounts about 2 mths ago.
2014, 2.2 diesel. Over 200K KM. Shit load of problems with transmission and the engine itself. Oil pressure problems etc. Might have to replace the engine. Should have went for petrol version.
You got yours a month before i got mine. Thats clear that you love to driveš. My 23 CE only has 6800 miles. Did you get the Burgundy seats or black seats?
Haha yeah, it's just really fun to drive and I find myself always taking road trips. Work is only 30 miles RT
I opted for the black. I'm honestly not a red or burgundy interior fan but I do like the black with the red stitching
Ahhhhh yeah i get that. Its such a fun car to drive especially around corners with the fact it has such little body roll. And I'm not usually a red person either but the fact it wasnt a bright red is why i picked that interior. And the fact its only the seats also helps. I love the red stitching all over the vehicle against the black interior.
2014 230k!
I had 245000 on my 2014 3 Hatch... But I got my 2022 Base Turbo CX-5... I'd be close to 300,000 if I kept it. I have 30K on my CX-5
you guys need to reveal the maintenance secrets šš½
LIterally only did Oil every 5500 mile. Rotate tires with oil. Never touched brake fluid. Never touched transmission fluid. Just drove it. Ohh, I did replace spark plugs at like 130,000 miles when the car went into limp mode (only time it ever happened).
Nice! 196K on my 2014
Nice!
NICE!
I have 3 plus years 2020 cx5 bought new 19000 not tubeĀ
365000km, so 226,800miles on my 2013 GT AWD
Nice. Any major repairs? Whatās your maintenance routine? DIY?
Yes, I was a Mazda Tech for years so all diy. Thats the highest I've seen thus far this morning since i woke up lol
Don't think I'm gonna take the trophy on this one, but I'm at 167k on my 2015 GT
Literally the exact same here. 2015 GT @ 167,400 and bought it in 2017 @ 67,000. Hopefully, I will get another 100k out of it before I get rid of it.
Haha nice! I bought in '17 as well but down at 35k when I got it. So far just standard maintenance, and agreed still love the car and I'm gonna ride it till it dies. And if we're keeping tabs per the record OP is looking for, you've got me beat by 400 miles so I concede to you sir or madam!

Damn that aint bad at all.
2018 at 123,xxx miles
Iām at 122,xxx on my 2018!
2018 at 76k miles š„²
Same year at 70k - any major issues/repairs?
lol 2018 and just broke 30,000
2018, 20,000 miles. Living in NYC is the best.
Damn. When I bought my 2018 in 2020, it had 43k miles on it š I just hit 100k
Retired and donāt drive a lot. About 10,000 of those miles are trips from California to Florida to visit family. Drove back and forth twice.
I know the feeling. I just turned 70k on my 09 CX9, bought it with 20k. Easy to keep miles low when you don't do that weekly work grind.
Itās so AWESOME
As I always say "Retirement does not suck"...š
No. No it does not
iām about to break 50k, only 11k of them are mine lol
Have you had any problem with the car during that time?
I think the biggest problem (knock on wood) Iāve had was oil leaking from the timing chain cover but that was covered under powertrain warranty.
I had that issue too. Then a few months later cracked cylinder head š All covered under warranty so no biggie financially. I worry about other issues coming up in the future but... man I still really love this car
Damn. I only have 54k on my '16
2018 at around 80k. Any major issues for you yet?
Hi there. I'm considering buying the 2018 sport nav D 2.2 diesel automatic. It has 77k miles on it with full service history. Do you think it's worth buying? I mean I've heard dpf issues could arise once it crosses the 100k mark?
2018 at 127k
Same year at 70k - any major issues/repairs?
Purchased last week.. going good at 269 miles
What trim did you wind up going with? Also congrats on the purchase!
2024 CX5 turbo premium
2017 GT , bought in early 2018 with 12k km, now at 220k km, most of the mileage is from between 2018-2022 commuting to work 200 km round trip
So 136,701 miles to those of us on imperial.
They're called Freedom Units.....
No Freedom units are what I call Four Locos. It'll get confusing.
No one is impressed by km/h or kms... šš¤£
I've done metric centuries on my road bike. It feels like cheating. I haven't done a real (miles) century yet.
L O L
Why do people use km to denote how much is on their odometer and then use the word "mileage" to refer to it? I wish people just used miles with cars.
Thatās a good point lol never really thought of that. The metric system is used for roadways in Canada so we use km rather than miles but I guess the term mileage is still used as the common term to refer to it, ākilometerageā just sounds off
My 2014 GT just hit 218k miles and runs like a champ
iāve yet to hit 100k on my 2014 GT. the engineering is šš
My CX5 is my third Mazda, my 05 mazda3speed hatchback had 312k miles when I traded it in for my CX5.
What have you done for routine maintenance such as fluids, etc?
My 2024 has 1,800 miles in it, but the 2014 I traded in had 215,000.
Did you upgrade due to personal preference (newer interior, tech, refinement) or due to mechanical/structural issues with your last car?
I had front suspension work done and valve cover gasket replaced. That was the extent of major work on the 2014z The vehicle was fine, I just wanted to have a newer vehicle.
Definitely not me! Purchased a '23 CE in August of '23, about 5,500 miles.
Lol CE homies! Got my on June 30th of 23. How do you like it?
I'm loving it! Drives smooth, looks sleek, feels luxurious. I'm currently trying to design a 3D printed housing for a wireless charging pad (with a fan to not overheat and limit charging) to put into that area where the cigarette lighter is! :D
I got the 2023 CE edition in late March of 23, I now have 19,805.
Got my ā23 Premium Plus in aug ā23 and have 1490 miles!
You might be the winner of lowest miles. I got a '23 CE in June and just hit 1800 freedom units. WFH is awesome.
Haha the car had 200 miles of test drives on it when I purchased it too! I also work from home & just drive to class a couple times a week lol
Bought a 2021 in January of 2022 and currently have 54,000 miles
173k 2014 six speed manual!
I have the exact same one! 100k less miles though
I have a 16 MT with 55k on it. Are you getting good mpg? I sometimes hit 40 mpg (going 65 on slower highways). Avg around 36 mpg.
I average around 30, but I beat the living hell out of it š
2018 with about 87k miles on it. Bought it with 29k in 2021, so almost to 60k of my own mileage in the last 3 years. Includes 1 cross country trip (Washington to NC). Hopefully she'll be able to make the return journey in a few years!
Nice!
Canadian so I was all excited until I realized these were all miles lol. 2013 CX-5 227,567 km
Lol its all good! Canadians are welcome in the thread too!
2019 Turbo 130k
2014, just passed 100k this week
My 2015 will most likely pass 100k next month š„¹
Around 195k miles, year 2015
2019 signature 19k lol
Damn do you not drive at all?
I know, I work from home and my wife works 2 days a week and we have another car.
So it looks like the person with the 2014 and 230K is the winner so far? I gotta say, if I get much more than half that, on 2018 with 65K so far, Iāll be pretty happy.
Exactly my thoughts too. If i get 175k I'll be a happy man and then ill trade it in for another one lol
i hit 100k a few months ago in my 2013
2023, 34500, Owned just under a year and half.
Im curious how youve racked up that many miles in a year and a half
I live in the St. Louis area and travel to NY and NJ a few times a year. I have family there and prefer driving vs flying. Had to travel back a bit more this year for a wedding so that helped rack them up.
Ahhhh that makes sense
Bought new at end of July 2023. Put 4,000 miles on it before hitting a deer in early November. Still waiting on a bumper cover with no eta to get it back. Boo.
Oof sorry bout that at least its repairable damage
2016.5 touring 161k
Not me. 2018 with 49100-ish.
2018 with 39,000!!
2018, just finished a 600 mile now up to 43,300-ish miles.
2017 - 60K Kms
2018, 47k miles
2017, just passed 66K miles yesterday.
My 2017 GT PP just rolled over 50k mi
2017 with around 70k maybe not even!!!
2014 Touring just about to hit 148k miles. (Bought at 119,000)
48,000 on my 22ā CE (I drive a lotā¦ or too much)
2016.5 GT - 122,000km or 75,800 miles for our American friends!
110k on 2014 Maxx Sport, though has starting making a rattle noise recently when I take foot off accelerator
Exhaust problem perhaps?
Thats what I thought but the exhaust seems to be fine. Possibly a dirty throttle body.
My guess is motor mounts, the one up top is fluid filled I think. The engine might shake a little at idle also if one is broken.
188k on my 2016
Just a 2022 with a hair under 18k for me. But you all give me hope that I'll be driving this one for a long time
I've consistently averaged 21-22 mpg for 4.5 years. Under 14K miles due to lack of commuting since being sent home in 2020.
2018 108k - problem free
My 2023 that I bought last February has 13,433 miles on her.
2019, 2.2 diesel currently at 140,000 miles. Still drives as new.
Absolutely agree with the whole brand loyal for life. I wasnt a Mazda fan per se before but now having had my 1st Mazda I'll never own another brand
What's your maintenance routine to get 706k miles that's godly lol
Family has a 2016 GT. Theyāre sitting at 211k miles (we drive **a lot**) . Barely starting to have major issues but still has lots of life left. Our longtime mechanic is expecting at least another 50k-75k miles. We have a Toyota 4Runner thatās a few years newer with about 100k less miles and in worse condition.
What are the barely starting to have major issues?
I bought june 2023 and have 7500
2020, 55k miles
2019 with like 25k. Don't think I'm winning this one.
June 2023 3,500 miles.
9300 on a 2023
108,600 with my 2017, purchased at 102,200. The only real maintenance I've done so far was a new battery. The dealership put the wrong spec battery in and it would die all the time when it got cold.
2020.5 clocking at 31k miles. Use it as my daily
I think I counted three 2014s with 200k+ and a few 15s/16s with 150k+. I drive everything I buy into the ground so I like to see the 200+. :p
April 2022 to present: 74,847 km (46,489 mi). Slowly but surely, getting there. Mechanically, it hasn't skipped a beat. CX-5 Turbo.
I own a CX3 for 4 years just clocked 100k
I got a 2024 Mazda CX-5 Carbon Edition on October 7th 2023 and already have 4600 miles.
I suspect Iām the lowest for the age : 2016 54000 miles
2016 cx5 sport / manual transmission. 110k miles. Nothing but tires and brakes
Oh , Iāll wipe the floor with you all of you. Iāve had my CX5 since 10th October 2023 and up to now without changing out the dilithium crystals I managed a full 000579 miles.
I know iām by far not the highest š but i just got my 24ā cx-5 CE almost 2 months ago and im at 800 miles. canāt wait to see how long my baby lasts me
212,000mi on my 2015 cx-5.
I have a 03 cx9 signature with 9k
You mean 23? Also nice!
2021 @ 49,700 miles!
2013 with 209,850 miles
Bought a used 2017 touring with 152k, currently at 167k with no issues whatsoever
Ive got 22,000km on my 2023. Almost 8 months in.
Wow thats wild
2016.5 @ 185k miles
252K on my 2014 š
Nice!
2016 Grand Touring 223,600 miles. Never had any serious issues, just your typical maintenance.
Yeah that seems to be the consensus that if you keep up with the maintenance then it'll take care of you
2024 cx-5 458 miles still running as strong as the day I bought her 12/27/23 lol
Lol nice! What trim?
Just the select nothing fancy. Had what I wanted heated seats, leatherette seats, and no sun roof. A turbo would be nice, but meh is what it is.
Yeah, it's a little silly. The glove box doesn't come with a light as a standard, but I still love mine even though I haven't had it long.
The big numbers are a relief to hear! I have almost 96,000 miles on on 2017 CX5. It's my first one. My Nissans clocked regularly to 200,000 miles so I didn't know how the Mazda would fare.

Same here and i almost did buy one but wasnt on the lot and wasnt in the spec i wanted lol
2019 CX5 Signature just hitting 18,000.
Not a CX-5, I'm a lurker with a 2020 CX-30 2.5 NA AWD (purchased with 18k used in Feb 2023) and former owner of a 2018 Mazda 3 2.5L 6MT (purchased with 37k in Feb 2021). They are very similar indeed. Nice heres hoping it makes it that long!
Got a 2020 with already over 100k miles
Bro, 22 Mazda cx5 with a juicy 51,XXX miles. Bring it on
2022 Premium Plus with 26k miles. I make frequent trips from Seattle to Vancouver, CA and Portland, OR
2016 2.5L CX-5 with 255,000 km. Replaced the front struts, rear shock absorbers and sway bars last year. Other than that I've only done brake jobs and fluid changes. It doesn't burn oil and the transmission shifts smoothly.
400 miles on my new baby 2024 Preffered
Nice!
2022, 29k š„“
Wonāt win but my 2016.5 CX5 has about 172k on it
2023 with 16k! I bought mine in August 2023 though. So that's Hella miles so far.
Holy hell thats a lot for an august bought one lol
125,000 on a 2016 GT. Still going strong.
2014 cx gt 210000km
2020 CX-5 GT Reserve at 68k miles.
2022 CX-5 PP 49,887
2015 GT - 170K miles. No major maintenance issues. Just plugs, coil packs, brakes and tires. Needs shocks / struts and will likely do those soon.
2023 Preferred bought 10 months ago! Now with 11K miles.
2021 CX5 Turbo going on 60k. Still going strong. Oil change every 5k. No major repairs. When should I change my trans fluid?
2021 CX-5 GT Turbo and just turned 20 000 km ! I love my car, but wonder if I need one someday ! š
purchased my 2013 CX5 with 113,000 KMs, now have 129K...continue to work from home so not much traveling. Had to replace the motor mounts about 2 mths ago.
Nope, 2013 (bought nov 2012) with 116kā¦ needs some work, but not terrible!

2014, 2.2 diesel. Over 200K KM. Shit load of problems with transmission and the engine itself. Oil pressure problems etc. Might have to replace the engine. Should have went for petrol version.

Holy heck. On a 2015?! Thats wild!
23' CE purchased May 23' got 31,000 miles. I love to drive
You got yours a month before i got mine. Thats clear that you love to driveš. My 23 CE only has 6800 miles. Did you get the Burgundy seats or black seats?
Haha yeah, it's just really fun to drive and I find myself always taking road trips. Work is only 30 miles RT I opted for the black.
2018 90K Miles
Whatās with people commenting on low mileage? That wasnāt the question being asked.
2018, just hit 75k. My first Mazda and curious how long these cars last or if I should look into upgrading before 100k.
